Ensure availability of approved work permit prior to start work. Ensure that
Safety Officer personnel safety apparel PPE is worn and used. Ensure all persons
engaged in the performance of the work are aware of and comply with
B COMPANY safety regulations. Ensure that heavy equipment shall be
installed with functional Proximity Warning Alarm System (PWAS) and
RVCCCS. Ensure full respect of COMPANY safety rules and regulations
which shall be strictly adhered during entire job.
Work Permit Receiver The work permit receiver is responsible for performing the work in
accordance with the conditions and requirements agreed upon with the
issuer and specified in the work permit. He can complete the initiation part
B of the work permit form. The initiation part of the work permit includes the
information section from the top of the form, to the section titled.
“Equipment used at the site”. The receiver must participate in any joint site
inspection that is conducted.
8.2 LAYING-OUT
8.2.1 Check and verify the coordinates (location) of the structure to be laid- out based
on latest IFC drawings.
8.2.2 Locate two reference benchmarks in the site nearest to where the structure is to be
laid-out.
8.2.3 Set out the Total Station in one of the benchmarks; enter as inputs, the north and
east coordinates of the occupied bench mark and then aim at the other bench mark
for back- sight reading.
8.2.4 With the computed design coordinates (location) of the structure, mark by a white
or black marker or rebar if setting points on the ground the location of easting and
northing center lines of the structure.
B 8.2.5 For vessels and big equipments, a manufacturer template shall be used for laying-
out anchor bolts, orientation of template shall be checked against civil and
mechanical (vendor) drawings.
8.3 LEVELING
8.3.1 Locate a benchmark in the site nearest to where leveling work is intended to
set automatic engineer's level approximately but not necessarily at the middle
of benchmark and the point where level mark is required.
8.3.2 Place the leveling rod/ staff top the benchmark. Sight at the staff and note the back-
sight reading. Calculate the height of the instrument by adding the value of
benchmark elevation and the back sight- reading.
8.3.3 Mark any known point in the ground and compute the design elevation.
8.3.4 Place the leveling rod/ staff to the point.
8.3.5 Sight at the rod/ staff and note the foresight reading, calculate the elevation of the
known point by subtracting the foresight reading from the height of the
instrument.
8.3.6 Compare the calculated elevation of the point with the design elevation based on
the IFC Drawings.
8.3.7 Equal values must be obtained. Any difference will represent the amount that
known point must be moved downward or upward to satisfy the requirements.
8.4 LOCATION CHECK SURVEY
8.4.1 Locate two bench marks in the site nearest to a known point where its location is to
be determined.
8.4.2 Set out the Total Station in one of the two benchmarks. Enter as inputs the east and
north coordinates of the occupied benchmark. Sight at the other benchmark from
back sight reading.
8.4.3 Calculate the Design easting and northing coordinates of the known point.
8.4.4 Place on the top of the point the target board. Sight at the known point and note
the reading registered in the instrument.
8.4.5 The reading of the northing and easting of the point must be the same as
the calculated design easting/ northing found on IFC Drawing.
8.4.6 Any difference in value corresponds to the amount the surveyed point must be
B adjusted northward/ southward or eastward/ westward, after reported and agreed
by QC group/ Construction group, and Company.
9. INSPECTION
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR QC and CONTRACTOR QC Inspectors shall carry out the
necessary inspections in various stages of the survey works. Inspections shall be based on
