Historians use sources like artifacts, images, and written documents from the past to learn about history and act as detectives. There are two types of sources: primary sources that come directly from the time period being studied, and secondary sources that are created later. Primary sources include artifacts, images, and written documents. Historians compare multiple sources to get an accurate understanding of the past. Studying history helps us understand the modern world and potentially see into the future.
