Milking
• Dairy cows require lots of high quality feed
& water
• Dairies usually milk 2 times each day (or
every 12 hours)
– udder is washed & dried
– dip teats in iodine to disinfect & close sphincter

– milking machine pipes milk to a cooling tank

suited to humans
