Instructions for updating the firmware of
Windows Embedded Compact 7-based operator
panels of the type TP(M) 3XXXX/(P)(WT)

1 Description 3 Hardware requirements


This document describes the procedure for updating the – TP 3XXXX
firmware for operator panels of type TP(M) 3XXXX/(P)(WT). – TPM 3XXXX

5.1 Generating a bootable SD card


If you already have a bootable SD card, you can
skip this chapter and continue with chapter 5.2.

5.3 Performing the update
• Insert the SD card with the update files into the slot of
the operating device.
• Switch on the power supply for the operating device.
Following the operator panel boot phase, the “Cockpit” con-
figuration menu opens automatically.
• Press the “Press here to enter Cockpit Main Menu” but-
ton.
• Open the directory “My Device -> StorageCard ->
Change_OS_Size“.
• Double-click to run the file

Max OS size has changed from 60MB to 100MB!


Now reboot the Device with an Image on SD-Card!
• Confirm the dialog with the “OK“ button.
• Disconnect the operating device from the supply volt-
age.
• Connect the operating device to the supply voltage.
The calibration process is now started.
• Follow the instructions on the display.
• Press the “Press here to enter Cockpit Main Menu” but-
ton.
• Open the directory “My Device -> StorageCard -> Firm-
wareInfo“.
• Double-click to run the file “copy.bat“.
• Close the file manager.

Some settings are password protected. The de-


fault password is: “+-+-“.

• Press the “Choose Update File“ button in the “Update“


sub-menu of the “Administration“ menu item in the
cockpit.
• In the pop-up window, select the update file
(StorageCard -> FW_SB7ECS-VISUPLUS-XXXX ->
FW_SB7ECS-VISUPLUS-XXXX.zip) and confirm with
““.
• Press the button “Start Update“ and confirm the pop-up
windows with ““.

Please note:
The external storage medium must remain
plugged in until the update process is complete.

The update will now be performed automatically. This pro-


cess can take several minutes.
A dialog is displayed after the update process.
• Confirm the dialog with the ““ button.
• Close the administration with the ““ button.
• Remove the SD card from the slot of the operating de-
vice.
• Restart the operating device.
