    SPOT PRELIMS 2020 -2021 TEST DATE: 20THJAN 2021 – 23RDJAN 2021
    SPOT is a National Science assessment test (approved by Ministry of HRD, Govt. Of India)
    conducted by Vikram Sarabhai Science Foundation, Kochi, for students from across the
    country. SPOT is designed to gauge students with aptitude to determine their conceptual
    knowledge & understanding of Science and assist them to be prepared for real-life
    situations in the world, that’s increasingly shaped by Science & Technology.

    STUDENT AWARD & RECOGNITION

    SPOT PRELIMS ADVANTAGE:


    • Exclusive entry to 6 Online Science Talk show (scheduled twice a month) conducted
    by renowned Scientists / Researchers through SPOTLink portal.
    • Certificate of Merit to all Qualified students.

    SPOT100 ADVANTAGE:
    • One Educational Tour to renowned Scientific center (TIFR Mumbai, IISc Bangalore,
    ISRO etc.)
    ✓ Shortlisted students are to congregate / report at a notified common point,
    furtheron VSSF shall take complete responsibility of the student.
    ✓ 50% of Travel (3 Tier Ac fare only) & Accommodation shall be borne by VSSF
    from this notified point. Students expected to pay the balance 50%, that
    shall be communicated in advance.
    Kindly note: Edu Tour shall be subject to relaxation of Covid restrictions by the
    respective State govt’s.
    • 5 days (Mon- Fri) fully sponsored internships to Top 17 national SPOT100’s at the
    TEAM INDUS FOUNDATION OF EXCELLENCE (TFE) on Space & its Technology.
    (Sponsored Amount Rs. 17,700/- per student)
    ✓ Food + Travel + Accommodation to be borne by the student.
    Kindly note: Internship shall be subject to relaxation of Covid restrictions by the
    respective State govt’s.
    • 5 days (Mon- Fri) part sponsored internship for balance 83 SPOT100’s at TFE
    (Sponsored amount of Rs.7080/-), balance 60% (Rs. 10,620/-) to be funded by the
    student. Please note this participation is purely at the discretion of the students.
    ✓ Food + Travel + Accommodation to be borne by the student
    Kindly note: Internship shall be subject to relaxation of Covid restrictions by the
    respective State govt’s.
    • 1 Science Encyclopedia to all SPOT100’s
    • Mentorship for all SPOT100’s from the panel mentors that include Academicians,
    Researchers, Professors, Scientists for a period of 1 month starting mid-April 2021.
    • SPOT GENII Excellence Certificate & VSSF Excellence Badge to all SPOT100’s
    • Scholarships to Top 8 Girl SPOT’100’s (2 from each zone) + 2 Top girl students
    from the State of J&K.

    TEST, LEVELS & PROCEDURES:

    2 Tests conducted at 3 levels


    SPOT TEST’s:
    • SPOT PRELIMS: Level 1 Test:
    Core subject: Science, Mental Ability & Analytics, primarily focused on Science.

    • SPOT100 (SPOT Final): Level 2 Test:


    Core subject: Science and Mental Ability& Logical reasoning, primarily focused on
    Science.

    • Medium of the Test shall be English for both Prelims & Final exams. CBSE, CISCE/ISC
    and State Board syllabus is followed for setting the test papers

    REGISTRATION DETAILS:
    Student Registration open at Individual student level & also through the respective Schools
    / School SPOT Coordinator.

    REGISTRATION CLOSE SPOT PRELIMS SPOT100 (FINAL)

    5th Jan 2021 21st Jan 2021 – 23rd Jan 2021 25th Feb 2021

    Note: Changes in date (if any) shall be communicated in advance to the registered email
    id of the student & the respective School SPOT Coordinator. We shall be updating the VSSF
    portal on regular basis, so request Students to check the VSSF portal at least once in
    couple of days.

    FEE & ELIGIBILITY:


    • Registration for students open only Individually as well as through their respective
    schools. (Please note: Individual registration is open as a special request due to
    Covid pandemic & VSSF shall revert to the earlier process of School registration &
    Test, post pandemic)
    • A PARTICIPATION FEE of Rs. 225/- per student to be paid Online by the Student or
    shall be collected by the participating school through School Coordinator.

    3. Student register – Fill in all requisite information
    4. Register
    5. Pay NOW (Left side)
    6. Check the Student info > PAY NOW
    7. Click the Payment option > Continue
    • Student to provide their full name, Class & Previous year Class Science percentage
    (% marks). VSSF may request the school principal for validation of marks & student
    ID, if required.
    • Student to save the Username & Password for your future use. All future
    communication from VSSF shall be done only to the registered email id.
    • No reimbursement shall be done in lieu of the travel
    • No additional fee charged for SPOT100 (SPOT Final)

    Terms and conditions:


    • Misleading submissions (i.e. Marks, documents etc) could result in disqualification of
    student.
    • VSSF reserve the right to accept / reject candidates.
    • We reiterate, Edu Tour & Internships are subject to relaxation of Covid restrictions by
    the respective State Govts. No reimbursement shall be done in lieu of the travel /
    Internships.
    • If both Edu Tour & Internships cannot be scheduled by Oct 2021, both shall stand
    cancelled.
    • No refunds shall be made in case of cancellations, except in case of Internship fees, if
    collected from the student.
    • VSSF decision would be final, in case of disputes
