Welcome, everyone, to Module 3! Module 3 is a lesson about Making
Connections Between Information Viewed and Personal Experiences.

This Module covers two topics: kinds of material viewed and their
description. Like in Module 2, this will be giving you quick background on the
said topics. Furthermore, having knowledge about these two topics is the first
step for you to understand well on how you can we make connections between
information viewed and your personal experiences in which critical thinking
skill is developed.

So, take the first step patiently and become a critical thinker!

After going through this module, you are expected to:

1. know from the teacher’s presentation the different kinds of material

2. describe the information that one has or had viewed.

1 their Description

Knowing the kinds of material you view or watch is important because it


can significantly help you increase awareness and learning. It can broaden
your knowledge on different areas and support your understanding of current
trends and issues.

This is a lesson on the different kinds or samples of materials where


you get information through watching. As the word ‘watches’ suggests,
the information you get is something you see and hear from television
programs, movie houses, live performances, or internet.

Those lines are called catchphrases or taglines. If you know those lines,
it means that you are aware of what they are offering and you know the show,
the person or the product.
As important as knowing the taglines, you need to know, too, the kinds
of material you are viewing or watching.

Below is a list of materials and their examples where you get


information by watching or viewing:

by melodrama, ensemble
casts and sentimentality.
The term "soap opera"

Lever Brothers.
Television This is a TV program that “Hiraya Manawari”,

school subjects.
Television Product This is a motion picture “Colgate”, “Nido”
Advertisement promoting or introducing a
product to the viewers.
Television Showbiz This is a TV program that “Bottomline”, “Tonight

celebrities in the field of
show business.
Television Noontime This is a noontime “Eat…Bulaga!” “It’s
Variety show program showing different Showtime!”
segments like game,
contest, production
number or entertainment.
Television Game This is a TV program that “Wowowin”, “Minute
Show shows games, usually with to Win It”
live audience.
Television Travel This a TV program that “Trip na Trip”,

food, people, culture- in
general or tourist
attractions.
Movie This is a recording of “Avengers”, “Shrek”
moving images or a
motion picture that tells a

Vlog This is a personal website “Winalyn’s Kitchen”

Television Program for This is a TV program that

To complete the preparation for the proper learning of the module on


Making Connections Between Information Viewed and Personal Experiences,
here is Lesson 2 which was designed to increase more your understanding on
the materials that you watch or view from television, internet or live
performances.

Read each line and try to remember the television show where this song is

the material you are watching. In fact, our dear learner, this topic is not
anymore new to you for this is almost the same with your lesson on Text
Purpose that you studied last school year.
