Importance of Voting in The Presidential Election 2022
Are
you going to vote for a democrat, a populist, someone who just have a good public image, or are you
going to vote at all?
A lot of Filipinos vote, but this right is not exercised by enough people. As citizens, we must take
responsibility and engage in elections for democracy to survive here in the Philippines. The Filipinos
seem to be taking the right to vote for granted nowadays, and it was not too long ago that not every
citizen had this right. Some Filipinos are not even registered yet which does not give them the
permission to vote.
We are all given this right by the democratic government we have, but it seems that when it
comes to voting, there is an unequal enthusiasm. Many Filipinos are not going to vote because they do
not know anything about the candidates or the problems the country faces. It is the duty of the voter,
however, to ensure that they are aware. For example, corona virus disease, also known as COVID-19, is
one of the most important issues. The most recent typhoon, Ulysses, is another. A lot of people have
asked, "What are the actions of the government in several parts of the Philippines in the face of this
calamity?”
Not only can we determine who is going to be the leader of our country when it comes to
elections, but we also decide on other serious matters. The most obvious reason we vote is to elect
someone to represent our country, but it is not always the most obvious option. In addition, we also
vote on other important issues that we think need to be altered. Some of these involve corruption,
human rights abuses, and other local problems that differ across the entire country.
With this right to vote, we can share views on daily topics, but to be able to evoke change, we all
must vote. As a Filipino voter, when it comes to voting, we do not really accept the smaller
consequences, rather we concentrate on the improvement we can see. Change will never come if we do
not exercise our right to vote. We allow local leaders and congressmen to understand our concerns
about problems through voting. When they grasp these concerns, so they are willing to make a
difference in attempting to change those problems. We help create progress by voting and we keep the
government running as it ought to. The Philippines have been working so hard for democracy that we
have it right now, so why not practice proper voting?
N: Voting is the fundamental principle of our whole democratic system. In our democracy, we think of
voting as a basic, most fundamental right.
B: Electing the right leaders provides change by attempting to mitigate varying social issues circulating in
the country.
P: Good governance under the newly elected officials is essential to help solve the important matters
that will highly contribute to change to country by exercising the right to vote.
