PERFORMANCE TASK NO. 2

I. To the Parent/Guardian(Sa mga magulang at tagapag-alaga)


This performance task will assess your child’s knowledge in the propagation of sound.
(Ang aktibidad na ito ay para po masukat ang kaalaman ng inyong mga anak kung
papaano nakakagawa ng tunog ang ibat-ibang mga bagay na matatagpuan lamang sa
loob ng inyong bahay).

II. To the Student (Sa mag-aaral)


At the end of the performance task you should be able to:
(Pagkatapos ng gawaing ito, inaasahan na….)
1. differentiate the media used in the transmission of sound; and
(bigyan ng pagkakaiba ang bawat media na solid, liquid, gas sa nagagawa nitong tunog)
2. prove that sound travels through solid, liquid and gas
(patunayan na ang tunog ay naglalakbay sa bawat media na solid, liquid, at gas)

III. Activity: Can You Hear The Sound (NARIRINIG MO BA ANG TUNOG?)
Materials: basin made of aluminium or plastic , water , 5 peso coin wooden table, spoon

Procedure:
Part A. Tap the wooden table using a 5 peso coin. Listen to the sound produced. Verify
your observation for at least 3 trials.
Part B. Fill a basin (aluminium) with water, drop the 5 peso coin until it reaches the
bottom of the basin. Listen to the sound. Do the same using a plastic basin. Listen to the
sound.
Part C. Ask a member of the family to stay inside a room, or behind the door outside the
house. Have at least 5 meter distance from each other. Tap the wooden table with your
hands. Ask your family if she/he hears the sound.
