Methods of Teaching

1. Prepare Construction Materials and Tools

 Lecture-demonstration
- It is a teaching method used to communicate an idea with the aid of visuals such as flip
charts, posters, power point, etc. It is the process of teaching someone how to make or do
something in a step-by-step process. As you show how, you “tell” what you are doing. A
demonstration always has a finished product. The key to a good lecture-demonstration is for
the audience to be able to go home and do what you have taught them how to do.
 Group discussion
- Group discussion are a very important aspect of group communication. Group discussions
are a creative and dynamic activity which stimulates reflective thinking among the members.
Group discussions may be defined as an activity in which a small number of persons meet
face to face and exchange and share ideas freely or attempt to reach a decision on a
common issue.
 PowerPoint presentation
- The main purpose of a presentation is to inform. Your presentation must be well prepared in
order to be able to give information to the audience properly. There are two kinds of giving
information. Informative presentation is usually done in front of the audiences who don’t know
yet about the topic or are not familiar with the topic. Here you must give facts and data so
that in the end of your presentation the audiences got new information. For this type of
presentation, the preparation you have to do is make them understand in preparing
construction materials and tools.
 Simulation
- Simulation is an innovative teaching method which is a learner-centered, activity-oriented
teaching strategy. It is something that replicates a system or environment in order to predict
actual behavior.
 Practical exercise
- Practical Exercise (PE) may take many forms. Basically, it is a method of training in which
the student actively participates, either individually or as a team member. He or she does
this by applying previously learned knowledge or skills. All students actively participate
although they may work at their own rate.

packages that cover single units of a given course program. It emphasis to put illustrated
important theoretical concepts and in to improve student’s laboratory handling skills.
