Remote

fishing?
Who would have thunk it? Have yet
to see it on Fort Peck Reservoir — not to
say it ain’t happening — but it’s gaining
popularity in a lot of places, and if you
duckduckgo it (alternative search engine to
google) you can find RC fishing boats of all
shapes and sizes for sale, from well under
a hundred bucks to well over a hundred
bucks.
There are RC fish-finding boats —
you can actually “chum the bay” with
some models — and you can even watch
youtube videos of RC fishing boats reeling
in fish! Not this angler’s style of fishing,
but again, it is really gaining in popularity.
However, there is debate about
whether RC fishing should be legal.
The Fish and Wildlife Commission
will hold a public hearing via a telephonic
Zoom platform on Dec. 1, at 10 a.m., to
consider a new rule pertaining to banning
the use of remote-controlled devices and
drones while fishing.
Fish, Wildlife & Parks has increasingly
been asked the question of whether it is
