CAREER GOALS:

1. What are you planning on doing as a life-long career?

I am planning on going to college to be an elementary or high school teacher. If I do choose to be

a high school teacher, I will most likely do something math related, more specifically, algebra. If

I choose elementary I really want to teach second or third grade.

2. What career do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself teaching or still being in school getting my degrees. I honestly think that I am going

to start my teaching journey by teaching elementary school. Second or third grade is what I see

myself being best at so I’ll most likely be doing that.

3. What interests do you have to support your goal?

Although this may not be an “interest”, I have a really strong passion for kids. My whole life I

have absolutely loved children and just loved being around them. I also have a really big interest

in teaching people how to do things and how to succeed.

4. What skills do you already have that might support your goal? Example: Computer skills, i.e.
MSWord.

I have really good technology skills and this may not be considered a skill but I have lot’s of

patience and communication skills. Having patience is really important in the teaching field,
especially when working with children. Communication skills are also essential when teaching

because not only do you have to communicate with your students, but you have to have the

ability to communicate with parents and other teachers/ staff members.

5. What knowledge do you already have to support your goals? Example: understand the
educaUonal requirements to be an accountant.

I do know that I have to attend college for at least four years to receive the degree I need to

become a teacher. I also know that when in college, I will have the opportunity to work with

each level of school along with being a student teacher and gaining experience working with

students. Other than that, I don’t know too much that will go into becoming a teacher.

6. What Career Pathway are you currently pursuing?

I am currently pursuing the fine arts pathway by being in orchestra. I have been in orchestra

since 6th grade and have grown to love it and be very passionate about it. There was even a time

where I considered becoming a music teacher because of it.

POST-SECONDARY/GRADUATION PLANS:

1. What are your plans a[er graduaUng from high school?

My plan after high school is to go to either KSU or UGA and have the major of early childhood

education. I also plan to continue working at Chick-fil-A and live at home if I go to KSU so I can

save my money and eventually be able to move into an apartment.

2. What degree or educaUonal program do you wish to pursue?

I plan to get my bachelor’s degree while physically going to college my first four years. After

that I want to get a job in teaching and then take online courses to further my education and get

my master degree and maybe a doctorate degree if I choose to do so.

3. What is the highest level of educaUon you believe you will need to fulfill your career goals?

I will need 4 years of college to first get my job.

High School
Military Training
On-the-job Training
2-Year Technical College
2-Year State College
4-Year College or University
Master’s Degree
Doctorate
Other (please specify)

4. Where are you planning to conUnue your educaUon?

I am planning to continue my education at KSU or UGA.

5. Have you met the requirements to begin your chosen degree or educaUonal program?
After I finish second semester I will have met all of the requirements needed.
