messages is a continuous process (1.5 marks). Therefore, communication has a dynamic
characteristics which always flows and is continuously (1 mark).

Why is it important?

Frame 0f reference is an experience and knowledge about something that
becomes a communication topic. Communication will have no effect if the

Apakah yang dimaksudkan dengan “Komunikasi wujud sebagai satu
sistem”?

Communication as a system because system is the combined result or parts which
respond to and rely on each other until finally they form a complete whole (2 Marks).
Each part forming the system is a combination of sub-systems which function and are
managed in the related system (2 Marks) + examples to relate back to the

1. In communicating activities, the senders would definitely want the audience
to receive exactly what they say. However, there are various barriers that
may exist in the process of delivering the message.
Discuss the factors that must be taken into consideration to ensure an
effective verbal communication. Explain THREE barriers that may happen
in verbal communication.
Dalam aktiviti berkomunikasi, pengirim pastinya mahukan khalayak menerima
dengan tepat apa yang mereka sampaikan. Walau bagaimanapun, terdapat
pelbagai halangan yang mungkin wujud dalam proses penghantaran mesej
tersebut.
Bincangkan faktor-faktor yang perlu dipertimbangkan bagi memastikan
komunikasi lisan yang efektif. Huraikan TIGA halangan yang mungkin berlaku
dalam komunikasi lisan.

Factors that influence an effective verbal communication:
• Symbols and language used – ensure the symbols and language muse give the exact,
suitable and clear meaning so that it is easily understood. This is because both symbols
and language carry different meaning in different cultural contexts and situation. The
difference in culture and life experience gives different interpretation and perception
between a person and another + example (5 Marks);

• The validity of source + detail explanation & example (5 Marks).

Barriers in verbal communication:


• Acceptance or assumptions that language has just one particular meaning + detail
explanation & example (3 Marks);

• Different culture + detail explanation (low-context culture & high-context culture) &

communication can change the actual meaning of the message.
