Here at Clagett Periodontics & Implant Dentistry, Dr. Clagett and his team of experts offer
professional smile enhancement services such as:
Gum grafting
There are a number of gum grafting options that have been described in greater detail on
the Receding Gums Treatment page, including:
Dr. Clagett will work with you to determine which option will work best for you.
There are a number of things that can result in unevenness in gum line such as:
Gum re-contouring
This procedure can be performed to even-out your gum line; it is also used when porcelain
veneers have to be applied.
Patients that have uneven gums or overgrown gums that cover a large portion of their
teeth can benefit from laser gum surgery. In this procedure, your gum line will be corrected
to fit the contour of your teeth, delivering a more symmetrical gum line.
Restorative reconstruction
Restorative reconstruction is a specialized dentistry option for patients with more complex
dental needs. This process involves various restorative dentistry procedures to either
restore/rebuild all of the teeth in the lower and upper jaws. Full-mouth reconstruction may
also involve:
TMJ therapy
Dental implants
Crowns
Fillings
Bridgework
Other dental procedures
Restorative reconstruction can often be accomplished in one or two visits. This process
may also involve qualified oral health professionals in different areas of cosmetic,
restorative, and sedation therapy but it allows you to very quickly reclaim your smile.
Implant-supported dentures
Swollen, tender, red gums and the overgrowth of gum tissues is generally experienced by
the large majority of individuals undergoing orthodontic treatment. The swollen gum
tissue and overgrowth of gum tissues settles down and the gums go back to normal once
the braces have been removed. If the tissue does not reposition itself at the end of the
orthodontic treatment, the gums can be reshaped and treated to look more normal.
Dr. Clagett believes that every patient has the right to be aware of their full dental
condition. And they deserve to have all available treatment options presented to them, with
the pros and cons of each treatment. These options are presented without any regard for
the limitations of dental insurance and without any preconceived notion of what the
patient may or may not accept the solutions.
He believes that as a specialist he needs to continue to keep himself updated with the latest
techniques, so that he can provide the best options to his patients. Dr. Clagett loves to help
his patients get their smile back. He and his team find great satisfaction in knowing that
they have the ability to change how people feel about themselves every day.
