Farewell Speech
Farewell Speech
Farewell Speech
“At dawn of love, at dawn of life, at dawn of peace that follows strife. At dawn of all we long for
so -- the sun is rising, let us go”
It has been 14 long years but I still remember the day when I walked into the school campus as a
little boy clinging to my father’s fingers as tightly as I could. But, when I entered my class
NURSERY C, then the loving smile on my class teacher’s face encouraged me and made me feel
at home. From that day to this day, when I am on the verge of leaving the school, I never had a
cause for concern or fear about schooling as I knew I was in safe hands.
Before today, I never knew that delivering a farewell speech is such a difficult task. But, atleast
I’m glad that I’m lucky enough to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.
I feel overwhelmed by the cyclonic flood of emotions. For the first time, I realized how
important my principal, teachers and friends have been in my life.
I and my entire batch are really thankful to our principal sir and headmistress mam for
continuously reminding us of our responsibilities as students. Be it for the uniform, turban,
polished shoes, or for discipline or academics, your valuable support helped us to transform
ourselves into better individuals.
We’ve completed this wonderful part of our life’s journey under the shadow of all our caring
teachers. We owe you this learning, wisdom and way of life. Today, I realize how important
were your scoldings and reprimands. The invaluable lessons imparted by you to us will echo
through our minds forever.
Moving on.
Batch 2011 has been naughty yet nice, rowdy yet sensitive. And, I’m sure everyone will agree
upon this with me that this batch has been one of the happiest and most cheerful batch JKPS has
ever seen. We’ve studied together, played together, fought, competed and above all, loved each
other intensely.
We all cherish the moments spent here in JKPS, be it the colourful Sports Days, energetic house
days, rocking annual days with some not so rocking rock performances (Pun intended), intense
basketball and football matches, (which often landed us into the bunker’s list) or the fun filled
Special assemblies(which no one wanted to bunk.). Our stay at JKPS has been a wonderful ride
of our lives.
Last but not the least, I would like to salute these corridors and silent walls of this school which
witnessed us grow up. And the free spaces, where we ran about. The shadow under which we
learnt the lessons of life.
Finally,
As we say goodbye, we remind ourselves that farewells are not forever nor are they the end.
They’re simply words to say that we will miss you dearly & that we will remember you fondly.
