1-1. Introduction
Cardio 7 is medical equipment with 12 channels to measure and record the patient‟s
ECG.
It provides parameters for diagnosis and automatic diagnosis, but also is effective to
manage the charts of the user as the user can print out the patient‟s information of the
record of patient‟s ECG. It is also possible to manage the digital files by transferring the
stored data to PC connected to the network.
In addition, for the convenience of the user, it is possible to measure ECG, apply the filter,
save the ECG data, extract the parameter, diagnose automatically and print out the
result with only one click.
If a battery (optional accessory) is inserted, it is possible and easy to carry the product for
mobile examination or emergency.

When AC power is supplied to the equipment, AC power indicator lamp at the
front side is illuminated green and battery is being charged automatically.
When AC power is turned off and system power is turned on, the equipment is
operated from battery power. When battery power in on, battery charge indicator
lamp is illuminated green. When battery power is low, buzzer alarms three times in
series and battery charge indicator lamp is illuminated yellow. In this case, turn the
system power off and connect the AC power source. Then turn the system power on
again.
- Required time for charging : more than 4 hours
- Time to complete full recharge at full discharge: Max. 3 hours
Caution
For the protection of environment, do NOT throw wasted battery away. Please
inquire at the biomedical engineering lab of the hospital and dispose
according to the appropriate procedure to the authorized place.(according to

Installation precautions
When installing cardio7 system, take the following precautions.
- The equipment should be operated within 5∼40℃ temperature and
10∼90%humidity.
- Check the power cord connection and probe should be handled with care.
- Do not plug several power cords in one electric outlet.
- Main unit should be installed on an even, level place.
- Check that the equipment is properly grounded to avoid noise.
- The entire system settings are stored on the internal memory even when system
power is turned off and on again
- Avoid excessive shock or vibration that could result in equipment damage.
- Avoid using in the vicinity of dust and flammable material.
Caution
For the continuous protection against the fire hazard, the fuse must be changed to
the same type and rate of fuse by technician (T5A 250V).
For the protection of environment, do NOT throw wasted fuse away in a dangerous
place for the example fire hazard

Section 2. Troubleshooting
2-1. Power
Problem Solution
< General Checking >
1. Check the power cable is connected with AC Power connection at
the back of the system.
2. Check the power source of the multi-tab with connection to the
power cable. (If power is connected, AC power indicator is lighted.)
3. Check the power switch.
4. Check any of two fuses on the Power Module(SMPS) and on fuse on
the Base board is cut.
If it is, replace Power board.

frequently.
● When the Cardio 7 is turned on, the pin no. 8‟s voltage has to be
always 14.6V.
Case2. 1) Is the pin no. 1/2‟s voltage is 14.6 Yes replace the main board.

turn on. ● When the REC key is pressed,(during printer is working)
1) Pin no. 12‟s voltage has to be changed from 0V to 24V
If not, faulty power board, replace the power board.
2) Pin no. 15‟s voltage has to be changed from 3V to 0V.
If not, faulty CPU, replace the main board.

2-4. Filter
AC Filter
In addition to ECG, other signals such as power noise, base line drift by respiration and
electromyogram may be recorded in the output signals.
There are three types of the noise filter; 60Hz, 50Hz and OFF. When set to OFF, noise is not
eliminated. Set to 50Hz, it indicates to filter 50Hz power noise. Set to 60Hz, it means filtering
60Hz power noise.
When the system is powered by battery, power noise is not generated, so you may have
clear ECG signal if set to OFF. In Europe where the power noise is 50Hz, the system is set to
50Hz. In other nations including Korea and the U.S., it is set to 60Hz.
The status of the set filter can be checked on the bottom part of the printout, indicating
AC 60Hz, AC 50Hz or AC OFF.
