About the company:
“Fortuna Bangladesh leather bag” is a premium quality leather bag designed
elegantly & stylishly under the banner of “Fortuna Bangladesh Leather Good Ltd.”
It is the first time venture in Dhaka & Chittagong city which targeted to high-end
customers to give them fashionable & stylish smart looking usable bags. For
example, leather backpack, leather travelling bag, hand bag, laptop bag, wallet &
customizable bag.

SWOT Analysis:

SWOT analysis is a process that identifies an organization's strengths, weaknesses,


opportunities and threats. Specifically, SWOT is a basic, analytical framework that
assesses what an entity can and cannot do, for factors both internal as well as
external Using environmental data to evaluate the position of a company, a SWOT
analysis determines what assists the firm in accomplishing its objectives, and what
obstacles must be overcome or minimized to achieve desired results: where the
organization is today, and where it may be positioned in the future.

 Strengths:
1. Favorable geographical location
2. Adequate competitive workforces, availability of labor & low labor cost
3. Comparative price advantage in market
4. Highly skilled operators for goods production
5. Continues emphasis on product development & design up gradation
6. Good internal communication
7. Excellent sales staff with strong knowledge of existing products
8. Govt. of Bangladesh declared highest priority to leather & footwear
goods. As a result our company has some advantage doing business in
this sector.

 Weakness:
1. Selective & limited access to finance
2. Lack of skilled workforce
3. Absence of inadequate market information, promotion & marketing
knowledge of local leather entrepreneur’s

4. No international brand image


5. Poor infrastructure & power
6. Poor linkage & co-ordination
7. Rented space
8. Lack of strong presence in the local market as we are new in the market

 Opportunities:
1. Huge untapped local market
2. Increasing demand for value added, diversified products
3. High value addition potential
4. High tax on competitors who are Major leather bag importers (replica
bags from china)

5. No duty on leather goods & products which are exported from


Bangladesh
6. Local & foreign direct investment opportunity in value added leather
product sector
7. Govt. policies towards leather focused company & exporters. Such as
GSP, cash incentive etc.

8. Increasing local demand of value added leather products


9. International fashion & sourcing houses in Bangladesh for RMG’s
showing interest in leather products which is a good sign for us.

 Threats:
1. Political instability
2. Emerging low price replica bags are imported & selling through e-
commerce & social sites.
3. New competitors are entering in the market frequently
4. Govt. rules regulations barriers are very low & some unethical companies
are entering the market by copying the existing product & not following
the copyright terms.

5. Market is very price sensitive as a result price competition among the


competitors is very high.
