If you're going with a stand-alone, just wire the adapter for the sensors you
Veteran Member plan to use. It looks like it has the pin out for all the things you would need:
Four Rings
crank sensor, cam sensor, coolant temp, intake temp, throttle position,
injectors, coilpacks, fuel pump relay. Then, just make your own power/ground
setup for the stand-alone ECU.

the power supply for the ecu comes through the stock harness, no need for
additional wiring

I had the message typed out in the quick reply before you posted that
Veteran Member harness. I was talking about if you were going to build your own, it would be
Four Rings
best to just wire up the essentials.

Anyway, why doesn't it need the cam sensor? Waste spark setup?

so this is what I was told by Karl at Emerald today. "The K3 is not going to
Veteran Member work well with the AGU adapter. The external amplifier would need to be
Four Rings
bypassed, the idle control motor will not function with the K3."

So I asked them what is needed to bypass the external amplifier and what
would the side effects be of no idle control motor on a DBC car. awaiting their
response now

By external amplifier are they referring to the ICM?

Im not sure what he meams by external amplifier, im waiting for him to get
back to me. my ecu is set up to run 2 tower coil packs to run wasted spark,
not coil on plug. emerald said they can upgrade the hardware in my ecu from
Join Date: Dec 13 2010 2 to 4 ignition drivers to run the coil on plug and use that adapter I linked.

then they later said the external amplifier would need to be bypassed and no
idle control function.

if it is the ICM, that has been long gone lol

From my minimal dabbling with stand alones on this car that's what i'd
assume (never assume). Let's hope so, then you're already one step closer!

I don't believe DBC cars have an idle air control setup... I'm not too familiar
Veteran Member with AEBs though. However, since you're planning to use stand-alone, can't
Four Rings
you just run whatever throttle body you want? You might have to change out
the connector on the OEM harness to one that would work with the TPS you
want to use, but that's about it, I think.
