    DEMAND LETTER FOR SUPPORT

    Sir:

    I am writing in behalf of my client, ____________, who referred to me for appropriate legal


    action the matter regarding your repeated failure and refusal to provide adequate support to
    your son, __________________.

    As defined under Article 194 of the Family Code, support comprises everything indispensable for
    sustenance, dwelling, clothing, medical attendance, education and transportation, in keeping
    with the financial capacity of the family. The education of the person entitled to be supported
    referred to in the preceding paragraph shall include his schooling or training for some
    profession, trade or vocation even beyond the age of majority. Transportation shall include
    expenses in going to and from school, or to and from place of work.

    We believe that you are well aware that your child was diagnosed with Pure Red Cell Aplasia
    with Thalassemia Alpha as initial findings, which makes it necessary for him to undergo
    monthly blood transfusion starting _______________________. This medical procedure
    costs around _________________ every month. Needless to say, my client also incurs costs
    for your child’s sustenance, dwelling and clothing.

    Following this, my client is demanding for a monthly support of


    ________________________, payable at the beginning of each month. Please take note
    that the amount being demanded by my client may change in the future depending on your
    child’s needs.

    Lastly, I wish to inform you that an unreasonable deprivation of your child’s basic needs is a
    criminal act. Section 3 (b) (3) of R.A. 7610, also known as Special Protection of Child Against
    Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. Moreover, R.A. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against
    Women and their Children Act considers as abuse the denial of financial support to the woman
    or her child.

    Please contact me at ____________________ within 15 days from receipt of this letter,


    otherwise, we shall have no other recourse except to take all legal actions, appropriate under the
    law, to protect my client’s interests.

    I trust that you will give this matter your urgent and preferential attention to avoid the
    inconvenience and rigors of court litigation.
