● This article explains how one of Hollywood's most Iconic films
``Psycho” Broke all the rules for making a movie, and yet became
one of the most iconic thrillers of all time. The film in theory should
have been conceived as “Boring” because of its black and white
adaptation and no known actors or actresses, yet people fell for it
right away. Hitchcock achieved this by putting all of his favorite
obsessions on screen.

2) Christopher Plummer, Youtube, ​A history of hollywood- Episode


1881-1907​,( october 27 2019)

● This episode of the documentary explains the beginning of


Hollywood. The first movie pioneers were self-taught engineers and
tinkerers, itinerant entertainers and street-smart showmen. It traces
the rise and fall of Hollywood and how America was re-imagined on
film. Decade by Decade the history of Hollywood is also the history of
the American Experience.

3) Drew Barrymore, Little Girl Lost, (1990)


● Drew Barrymore, A famous actress, talks on How hollywood affected
her as a child star in growing up. She talks on substance abuse,
drugs, drinking, etc. She first started out in the hit movie E.T. and
after that, her problems started to arise. She had her first drink at age
nine, Smoked marijuanaat 10, and Had cocaine in her body by age
12. Along this she talks on sexual assault in hollywood and the film
industry itself, and bribery, and corruption with directors.

4) Shawn Levy, ​The Castle on Sunset,​ (May 7th 2019)


● This Book covers the Famous Hotel ​Chateau Marmont and how it
serves as a portal to how much hollywood has changed. Hordes of
stars have flocked to the hotel to stay, and many stories have come
of it. Levy talks on how movies deals, Prostitution, and illiegal
activities have gone on here. Levy gives insight on west Hollywood in
the 20’s and how this building has lived through the 30’s and an
entire world war.

5) Nick Bilton, Vanityfair.com, ​Why Hollywood as we know it is already


over, ​Jan 29 2017

● This article talks about the downfall of Hollywood. Bilton talks on the
rudeness between crew and actors and the quality of movies and
shows being brought out of hollywood. Along with that, he goes into
the statistics of people who prefer on- demand movies now a days,
which heavily impacts the film industry. Show business, in many
ways, has entered a vicious cycle, set off by larger economic forces.

6)Robert Preston, Youtube, ​Going Hollywood : The 30’s, (​ Nov 18, 2018)
● Movies at one point were Americas favorite form of entertainment.
The movies shape this countries faith and ideal. People from europe
and everywhere else heard about American films and came over to
live out the American Dream.
7) David Bloom, Indiewire.com, ​Hollywood’s Changing As Fast As It Ever
Has — Can Industry Lifers Change Too?, (May 27th, 2019)
● This article focus’s on digital cinematography and different entry
level jobs in film making. To be successful in todays hollywood
you have to adapt to quick changes and you must have a wide
variety of skills. Bloom also chimes in on the fact that streaming
services are more popular and in demand than seeing things in
person. This causes problems for every division that fits into
film making
