1. The plot o the story The Witch is there is this twelve year-old boy who used
to go to Libas at his Uncle’s house and Minggay Awok that is known for being a
witch. People are threatened by her because of his appearance and witchcrafts that
she didn’t do. She lived at the house on the high-bank across the Balete. People
there used to set fire at the Witch’s place so that she could die but still, she
remained alive.
2. I think the Theme of this Story is superstition because I don’t think witch are
true.
3. The one that is narrating the story is the author Edilberto Tiempo because he
is the protagonist or the twelve year-old boy in it.
4. The time and place of the story is Morning and at the Lake this is where the
boy meets Minggay when he is planning to leave the lake but then, the witch gave
him the shredded coconut meat he could catch more shrimps.
5. Characters in the story
The Witch- an old woman that is always being blamed by the unfortunate
incidents at the place
The Boy- a boy who easily believes about the rumors at the place.
Uncle Isabelo- Head Teacher of the Barrio School.
6. The witch is constructed with the beginning where the characters are being
described. The middle, where the narrator tell the story of Minggay Awok and the
boy who is getting a medicine for her Aunt and the ending where the boy meet an
old lady but when she introduced herself the boy immediately leave. I think they are
related when the two protagonist just tell their experiences in the middle of the
story.
7. Yes because in the beginning the old man is being accused and feared from
all the incidents happened in the Libas.
8. “If he’s still living,” she went on, “he’d be as old as your father maybe.
Many times I feel in my bones he is alive, and will come back before I die.” This line
is in the mid-end of the story that you can find out the called “witch” I not really her
and she has kindness inside of her.
9.It controls the story specially the characters and the plot.
10.Personification-The protruding eyes of the biggest shrimp, which was still
alive, seemed to glare at me---and then they became the eyes of the witch
11.What I observe in the two is some of the stories are always fiction but it is
called imaginary story in the earlier period.
Green Girl
By Cyan abad-Jugo
1. The plot of the story Green Girl is there is a boy who is always curious
about the apartment near them. Her aunt told the story about the apartment but
she didn’t finished it because she leaves the place. So the boy out of curiosity went
to the house and toured the inside of the house when he went to the upstairs in the
small room he saw his mother looking for him then he immediately leave the house
and came back to their. He sleep in the afternoon and wake up in the midnight to
look for food but suddenly his unknown friend told the story of the house and the
green girl is her. When the boy went to school he always believes that it is just a
dream.
2. The theme of the story is lonesomeness because I think when the girl
choose to hinted the boy that she was there I feel like she is lonely, no one see her
and she cannot talk to anyone the boy only but then I think the boy forget her.
3. Milton narrates his curiosity in the apartment near them and how he
end up being friend wit the girl.
4. The time and place is in the afternoon because it is when Milton
supposed to have a siesta and the place is in the girls house also in the kitchen in
Milton and his mothers apartment where the girl tell Milton her story.
5. Characters in the story
Milton- the boy who believes about the story of his aunt about the creature
next door.
Mother- the one who always tell Milton not to go near the house just to
protect him.
Aunt Hilda- the one who told the story about the green girl in the apartment.
Green Girl- the one who is always laughing with Milton and the girl who tells
her real story about her.
6. The structure of the story is it begins where Milton is being curious
about the apartment and it ended up that he is talking to the green girl.
7. Yes because Milton is wanting to be friend with the girl and they end up
being friend.
8. “What is the matter with you, Milton? Why are you talking to the
wall? The whole story is full of question that it would make it more interesting.
9. It controls the story specially the characters and the plot.
10. Hyperbole-The wall itself shimmered; it swallowed my hand, my arm,
my head, and I found myself tumbling into the garden next door.
11. What I observe in the two is some of the stories are always fiction but it
is called imaginary story in the earlier period.
