 This document contains instructions for using the Pulse Secure software on a Wells Fargo team member’s
personally owned or non-Wells Fargo-owned PC to remotely connect to the Wells Fargo network using
Versatile Remote Access (VeRA).

 This guide is only approved for Wells Fargo team members and authorized contractor resources;
external consultants (a.k.a. vendors) have a similar but different connection process using a different user
guide.

 Please note that the more-common remote access connection method for Wells Fargo team members, MyED,
requires the use of a Wells Fargo PC. Access through VeRA is more restrictive because a personally owned or
non-Wells Fargo-owned (non-managed) PC is used.

2 VeRA Connection Guide for personally owned PCs

Restrictions using VeRA
 Wells Fargo does not authorize printing when connecting to the Wells Fargo network through VeRA.
 Cut and paste from inside the VeRA environment to your local workstation is not allowed.
 You cannot access local files on your C: drive or other drives on your device in a VeRA session.
 You cannot interact with local applications on your PC while connected using VeRA.

Ensure you and your device are VeRA ready

Before you can successfully connect with VeRA, you must do the following:

 A VeRA ID and SecurID token (should be requested for you)

 Administrative rights on your PC to install the Pulse Secure client and Citrix Workspace

 The phone number for the help desk that your Wells Fargo team uses
 An active Internet connection established by your personally-owned or non-Wells Fargo-owned PC

 A personally-owned or non-Wells Fargo-owned PC that can be configured to work with Wells Fargo’s VeRA solution.
1. Windows platform: Only Windows 10 is supported via this connection guide.
2. Supported browser: Most relatively current versions should suffice.
 Microsoft Internet Explorer or Edge

 Firefox
 Chrome
3. Supported antivirus software:
 Your computer must be running approved antivirus software with up-to-date antivirus pattern files and
security patches. The scan must detect a supported antivirus product must meets these three basic
requirements:
o Real-time protection must be running.
o The antivirus product must support your operating system version.
o The antivirus product must be on the Recognized Antivirus Page explained in the next bullets.
 You can find the approved list on the Welcome to the Recognized Antivirus Page web site if you are already
connected to the Wells Fargo network in the office.
 If you are not currently connected to the WF network, you can access the AV reference site on the VeRA Help
Portal. Steps are described under the Install software on your workstation section of this document.

 Some security software can conflict with the usage of VeRA. You may need to disable this software at the
service level to connect.
 Host Checker, which verifies endpoint security, cannot detect certain centrally managed or cloud-based
products. Some of these products might have the same general name and version number as the standalone

products listed below, but they are very different from a scanning standpoint. Also note that Host Checker
might not correctly detect products with the same antivirus engine but a slightly different name as the
products listed.

Additional Information
Disconnect from VeRA Pulse Secure

When you are done with your work for the day, right click on the Pulse client icon in the system tray,
select your VeRA connection, and select Disconnect.

Note: Always shut down your computer completely before traveling with it, to ensure the encryption security is in place
and to prevent premature wear on the hardware components.

Connection time limitations

The Wells Fargo Security Policy limit for remote VPN connection is 12 hours. VeRA is intended to be used for short periods

uninterrupted connection time, simply log off and log right back in to reset the 12-hour timer.

VeRA will disconnect a session after 10 minutes of inactivity. As long as there is network activity through the features of
VeRA you are using, the connection will remain active.

VeRA account usage and activity requirements

A Wells Fargo VeRA account is disabled after 90 days of inactivity. Accounts will be deleted after 120 days of inactivity. If
your account has been disabled or deleted, please contact Technology Connection for assistance.

Support
Your normal channels for Wells Fargo desktop support can provide technical support for VeRA. Users should follow their
normal path for technical support and contact their helpdesk or local LAN administrator. If you don't know the number to
your specific helpdesk, start with 877-590-9000 (in the US) or 855-604-3887 (in EGS).

If standard troubleshooting efforts are unsuccessful, ask the agent to create and escalate a ticket. Provide as much detail
as possible in the ticket, including the precise situation when the problem occurs, screen shots of error messages
encountered, etc.

 If the problem relates to logging into a LIVE Client (https://myworkspace.wellsfargo.com/Citrix/LIVEClientWeb/),

follow your standard escalation path for desktop support, by sending the ticket to the appropriate field support
team based on the impacted users physical location.
