    The location of portable fire extinguishers and the method of using them
    The Procedure for operating fixed fire extinguishing system
    The Location of EEBD’s and the method of using them
    Have you been taken round the Engine room and explained the operation of:
    Main Engine controls
    Aux. Engine controls
    Cargo/Ballast/Bilge/GS Pumps
    Fixed Fire Extinguishing system
    Have you been shown the location of :
    Emergency stops for E/R blowers/vent fans
    Emergency fuel shut offs
    Emergency bilge suction
    Have you read the Chief Engineer’s standing instructions
    Have you been instructed on the reporting system in case of fire or flooding in machinery space?
    Within 48 hours

    Have you been shown the piping and valves ?


    Have you been shown the fuel oil supply and transfer system on board?
    Have you been shown the steering system?
    Have you been made aware of the maintenance instructions?
    Have you been shown the auto controls and procedure for switching over to manual operations?
    Have you been shown the location of pollution mitigation equipment ?
    Have you been explained the procedure for operating the following :-
    Lifeboat engine
    Emergency generator/ batteries
    Emergency fire pump
    Emergency Steering
    Quick closing valves
    Funnel flaps
    Emergency Air Compressor
    Have your duties and responsibilities been explained including ISM and ISPS duties
