SYLLABUS FOR IBPS SO (LAW)

The exam will be conducted in two stages:

PRE LIMINARY EXAMINATION

seating arrangements, puzzles, inequalities, syllogism, input output


data Sufficiency, blood order relations, order and ranking,
Reasoning
alphanumeric, series, distance and direction, coding –decoding,
analogy, ranking and time sequence, verbal reasoning etc.
Cloze test reading, comprehension, spotting errors, sentence
English language improvement, Sentence correction, Para jumbles, Para sentence
completion, fill in the Blanks.

General awareness current affairs, banking Awareness, banking terms, RBI based
with special questions, G K updates, Currencies, important places, Books and
reference to banking authors, awards, Headquarters, PM Schemes, Important days and
industry dates.
MAINS EXAMINATION

Banking regulations, compliance and legal aspects, relevant law and orders
related to negotiable instruments, securities, foreign exchange, prevention of
money laundering, Limitation Act, Consumer Protection Act, the Securitisation
LAW and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act,
2002 (SARFAESI Act), bankers book evidence Act, DRT Act (debt recovery
tribunals Act), banking ombudsman scheme, laws and actions wit direct link to
banking sector, etc.

• Mode of examination isonline for both preliminary and mains exam.


• Both preliminary and mains exam contain objective type questions.
• Cut off score shall be decided on the basis of the number of vacancies available and the
cut off score shall not be shared with the candidates prior to the interview process.

INTERVIEW

Short listing in interview and forming the final merit list shall be based on the marks
obtained in the online examination.
Total marks allotted for interview= 100.
Minimum marks required to be scored to qualify the interview= not less than 40% for
general candidates and 35 % for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD candidates.
Weightage ratio of online main examination and interview shall be 80: 20.
