Safety Aspects
Safety Officer shall be available according to critical site condition/ AADC witness
requirement.
Tools box talk will be performed before starting any activity.
All equipment/ machineries need to be calibrated.
The cable drums/ cable route area shall be barricaded and Road Barriers (Traffic Cones)
are required wherever the cable route is near to the road.
First Aid box shall be available at site.
Ensure sufficient drinking water shall be provided during work to prevent dehydration.
Ensure sufficient trained manpower shall be used.
Safety measures & PPE for peoples to be checked by safety officer.
1. Area, where the cable drums to be placed, shall be leveled and compacted.
2. Ensure detailed manufacturer name plate is available on the cable drum.

3. Sufficient capacity, lifting crane shall be available at site to lift cable drums.
4. Ensure cleanliness and tidiness in the entire cable route.
5. Ensure that 10cm Sand bedding will done for that section.
6. Single rollers will be placed are 2M interval throughout the section for the straight line.
7. Ensure proper bend roller/ V rollers will be placed at required locations.
8. Ensure all rollers are free from rust & Corrosion.
9. Ensure that the cable drum and Winch M/c are placed at right position as per approved
drawing/ calculation.
10. Ensure that Tool Box Talk will be conducted before cable pulling at site.
11. Ensure that AADC’s TED civil stage check list is cleared.
12. Ensure TCD installation stage checklist to be carried out and Cleared.
13. The cable drums to be placed according to the pulling direction.
14. The cable drums to be opened in presence of Manufacturer/ AADC Engineer.
15. Visual check to confirm that there is no damages or abnormalities in the cable drum.
16. Ensure pulling end of the cable is fixed with pulling eye.
17. Ensure cable length is sufficient as per approved bonding system & length embossing
mark.
18. Ensure the end caps sealing are intact to prevent from water ingress.
19. Cable sheath healthiness to be ensured by conducting DRUM TEST as per AADC
procedures.
20. Cable pulling tension to be monitored/ recorded throughout the pulling.
21. Experienced staff shall be deputed for all duct entry & exit points.
22. Cable pulling end to be bring down through step rollers up to ground level by manually.
23. Ensure that cable pulling will start slowly at specified speed.
24. Proper communication through Walkie-Talkie or flags available throughout pulling
duration.
25. After completion of 1st group/ set cables all cables to be bring in the final position.
26. Cable at duct entry & exit shall be positioned in the center (not resting at the bottom of
the duct).
27. The second group/ set cable pulling to be carried out same as above.
28. Ensure that cable both ends are cut & sealed with End cap and cover with heat
Shrinkable sleeve.
29. Cable phase & Group identification shall be marked over the cable at both ends as per
Bay Confirmation checklist.
30. For section with single point Bonding system ECC cable to be laid as per approved
Schematic earthing diagram.
31. IR test to be conducted after FO cable laying.
32. After IR test the section shall be released for soft sand filling.

33. 15-20 Meter spare loop of FOC to be placed in the manholes from both the directions.
34. FOC marker to be placed on the manholes as per ASTS.
