What is Delta?
The Delta is an advanced teacher training qualification made up of three modular components which you can
take at different times and through different modes (online/blended and face-to-face options are available).
To become Delta qualified, you must pass all three modules, but individual certificates are issued for each
module passed. It is strongly recommended you begin with Module One. There is no time limit for completing
the three modules.
Delta Module Two is a combination of theory and practice. You will complete four written assignments with
personalised feedback from your tutor. Additionally, there are four observed lessons which will be assessed.
One of these lessons is an external assessment carried out by an assessor from Cambridge English.
What is the difference between Delta Module Two online and face-to-face?
We offer two online M2 courses each year, one in spring and one in autumn. The online part of these
courses takes place on the learning platform Moodle. You work online to complete the written assignments
with personalised feedback from your online tutor. Although this is an online course, assessed teaching
practice is still part of Delta Module Two and this practical element happens in your own place of work with
your own students. Therefore, it is essential that you are teaching when you undertake the online version of
M2. You will also need to find a Regional Delta tutor (RDT). You can nominate someone suitable (e.g. a
senior staff member or someone with training experience). So long as we approve this person, we pay them
for this work and give them a full induction to work with you. Please note that it is your responsibility to find a
suitable RDT and make sure that they can tutor for the duration of the course. One of your classes will also
need to be assessed by a Cambridge English registered external assessor at some point near the end of
the course and this is something we will organise, although you will have to pay travel costs for international
travel. Please be aware that for some areas of the world it can sometimes be difficult to find an external
assessor due the shortage of assessors in the region and/or potentially high travel costs.
The face-to-face M2 course takes place in the summer in Cambridge, UK. It runs for six weeks and includes
all the required teaching practice plus the assessment.

Assessment
Assessment of Delta M2 is through a Teaching Practice Portfolio which consists of:

The final lesson will be externally assessed, i.e. it will be assessed by a Cambridge English registered
