Many vastu consultants and vastu shastra itself recommends

to keep the iron shelf Almira towards Southwest part of a room and that to in Southwest
portion of the house. This is advisable and correct system. Keep the Almira towards
Southwest and open towards North or East. But beware it should not have the mirror.
Otherwise it is nothing but Southwest mirror. Check the below images.

Here the iron Almira facing towards East direction at Southwest part of a house. This is only
for your kind information. If the same Almira is stand on one dais made with mountain rock
base, then it is perfectly good. The almirah facing towards North is first preference and facing
towards East is second preference. Some may have the Almira with glass. Below is one of
that. It should not be keep towards Southwest part of the house.

The best suitable placement for the Almira is at Southwest, door of the Almirah opening
towards North or East

The Second best placement for the Almirah is towards South at Southwest room, door
opening towards South direction.

The Third best placement for the Almirah is towards West at Southwest room, door opening
towards East.

The Third best placement for the Almirah is towards West at Southwest room, door opening
towards East.
If there is no availability of placement for the Almirah or Iron Rack or cup board at
Southwest then try to place them at South or West, if its also not available then keep at
Southeast or Northwest. When you place at this position, maximum try to avoid keeping cash
in such Almirah.

At any cost don't keep the Almirah or Iron shelve/shelf or Cup Boards at Northeast corner.

Keeping almirah at East is not good idea, if in the house its only the available place then the
mirror to the almirah is a great idea.

Keeping almirah in North location is not good idea, if its only the available place then
keeping mirror to the almirah is best idea.

This property is called Southwest road property. Road is towards Southwest corner side. Be
cautious before buying these types of plots or houses.

In all types of skewed plots, residents are advised to check the measurements, the northeast
and southwest measures may be more than southeast and Northwest measures.

According to Vastu Expert Sunil Tripathi "The plots in and which the major directions fall
in the corners are known as diagonal plots. As a result the magnetic meridian instead of
passing through the centre of the plot makes an angle of 45° with the main axis of the
plot. From residences to commercial complexes, any kind of building can be built on
diagonal plots. Vastu Shastra suggests certain tips that will be instrumental in harmonizing
the plot with the surrounding nature." 

  "The diagonal plots can have roads on North-East, the North-West, the South-East and the
South-West sides. Amongst these plots with road on the North-East side are considered
veryauspicious by Vastu Shastra. The North-West and the South-East ones are of medium
 level. The ones in the Southwest are useful for certain business ventures but these should
never be taken for residential purposes." says the famous Indian Vaastu Consultant Sunil
Tripathi.

  According to Vedic Vastu Consultant Sunil Tripathi "The diagonal plots with roads on
two, three or four sides give mixed results However the South-West side should not be used
as entrance."

The Vedic Expert Sunil Tripathi mentions below the Utilities for the Roads in Different
directions for Diagonal Plots according to Vastu Shastra: 
1) North-East Road: Residence, Temple, school, Library, shop and factories 

2) North-West Road: Residence, Agricultural purpose, Showroom for vehicles and Garage. 

3) South-East Road: Hotels, Residence, Courts, business run by women, entertainment,

factories etc. 

4) South-West Road: Hardware, tyre, permit room, accident hospitals and orthopedics. 

  According to Vastu Shastra Expert Sunil Tripathi- "In the diagonal plots the building
constructions should not be oblique or diagonal to the plot. Every construction should be
parallel to the direction of the plot as well as the adjacent roads." 

  "If oblique construction is done the benefits of Vastu Shastra cannot be fully reaped. Even if
the plot is diagonal, construction should never be oblique. North- East direction must have the
maximum of open space in a diagonal plot. The building should be constructed in the South-

  "Curved roads adjacent to the diagonal plots should always be avoided. Even within the
compound wall no curve or oblique cut should be there." is a very important tip accordinng

  According to the Indian Vaastu Consultant Sunil Tripathi, this major tip shall always be kept
in mind-"The Western and the Southern angles of a plot should always be right angle (90°). It
should not be more or less than 90°."
According to Vastu Shastra, The Indian Vedic Science for living- "For a diagonal plot the North-
East approach road is very auspicious. The compound gate can be constructed at this place. The
North-West approach road gives medium level mixed benefits. In front of the road on the west
side the gate of the compound wall should be constructed. Do not build the roads in the North
direction." 

  "The South-East direction approach road is beneficial to some extent for hotels, electric shops,
jewelry business run by women etc. The benefits are of medium level for Diagonal Plots."

  The Best Vastu Expert shares his tips on Diagonal Plots- "While constructing the compound
wall of diagonal plots only the North-East wall should be light and made of bricks. The South-
West wall should be high, thick and made of stone. The South - East and the North - West
wall should be made of bricks and have a downward slope from the South to the East and from
the West to the North. The compound wall on the North-East side should have the lowest height.
Instead of a wall even a barbed wire fencing can serve the purpose. If the diagonal plot has a
South-West road then the gate of the wall compound should be in the West. The entrance
gate should open towards the North."

  In the diagonal plot the well or the boring should be located in the North-East direction.
there should not be any door of the compound wall or the building in front of the well. If
the well is in the East or the North it would be quite helpful. Wells at improper places should
be filled up and closed after proper worship. This should be kept in mind for a peaceful life. 

  The gate of the compound in a diagonal plot should in the South-West direction

  The Vastu Expert advises "Even if there is some fault in the construction of the building on a
diagonal plot the loss is reduced from 100 % to 50 %. It is because the magnetic meridian is not
passing through the centre. The profits or losses of Vastu Shastra are of medium level. When
the magnetic meridian is passing through the middle of the plot proper results cannot be
obtained. Therefore, a diagonal plot can be profitable because the losses are also less."

  In the diagonal septic tank or water storage tank should not be situated in front of the
compound gate otherwise it would lead to many difficulties.

  "The basement can be located in the North-East direction on a diagonal plot. However it
should not be used for residential purposes. It can be only used as Godown. Good or medium
level benefits can be obtained. Vastu Shastra does not consider the basement quite auspicious.
Hence it is better if there is no basement on a diagonal plot." says the widely globalized Vastu
Adviser Sunil Tripathi.

 Facing of the Shop/Office should be in North, East or Northeast.

 Main gate should not be set in such a way that it is curved inside the main boundary line in
order to facilitate big Lories to enter the plant.
 There should not be any tree, pole, electric wire, transformer or any other hindrance in front of
the gate.

Vastu for Showroom

Puja Room can be placed in any position of the House but NE is best. If separate room is not
possible to be located to the Puja Room, then a small Puja box of wood or stone can be made
or idols can be placed on a shelf fixed at proper place.

 Facing of the Showroom should be in Northeast, East or North direction.

 South facing Showroom is not good……….for solution contact us.
 Color of the Showroom should be light i.e. cream, light v blue, light green, white etc.
 Display should be made in Southeast in East facing Showroom, Northwest in North facing
Showroom, Southwest in South and West facing Showrooms.
 In garment showroom, trial room should be made in Northwest corner.
 Mirror in trial room should only be fixed on North and East wall.
 Salesman, if any should sit in Northwest or Southeast direction.
 No circular or round table should be used to deal customers.
 Red colors should be avoided in Showroom.
 If it is a automobile Showroom, Vehicle should be displayed facing East or North.
 Floor level should be more in Southwest area.
 In garment showroom, tailor should be allotted space in Northwest or Southeast area sitting in
East or North face.
 There should not be any sound from the chair of either owner or customers.
 Dead stock should be kept in Northwest area.
 There should not be any tree, pole, electric wire, transformer or any other hindrance in front of
the gate.

Vastu for Septic Tank

 Septic tank should never be made in or near the centre of the house.
 Septic tank should always be made in North West area.
 It should never ever be made in South West and North East area.
 It should be made 1-2 ft away from North and West walls. It should never touch the
compound wall.
 If you have flat, then the effect of septic tank becomes partial on you.
 Shape of the tank should be square or rectangular.
 Septic tank should not be above the ground. Its level should be below ground.
 South West and North East septic tank has proved severe results.
 The outflow of water should be in west direction.

 Vastu for Entrance
 Main entrance is best in North and East direction.
 If the facing of the plot is not North or East, gate in that direction is not possible. So the next
best direction is in West but in no case gate should be in South direction
 Some of the books on Vastu suggest having gate in 4th position of the plot after dividing it into
9 parts. This is not necessary at all. Entrance is strictly subject to proper verification of site.
 Entrance gate should be heavy and bigger than any other gate in the house.
 If there is more than one entrance, they should never be in line.
 The main door should open inside.
 The doors, while opening should not make sound.
 Color of the gate should be light but South facing gate should have light yellow color.
 There should not be any garbage in front of the gate.
 There should not be any obstruction in front of the main gate which is also called “Dwar
Vedh”.
 Dwar Vedh are electric pole, other poles, pillars, transformer, tree, temple, mosque, tomb etc.
These have very bad impact on the Vastu of the Vastu.
 Main door should not face any other’s main door. If it happens, move your main door
slightly either way.
 There should be no any wall just in front of the Main Gate.
 Main gate should not face any inner door or stairs of the house.
 Main door should not face the entrance of the lift.
 There should always be a small gate attached to the main gate.
 Guard’s room should be made on left side of the main gate but it should not fall in North
East or South West.
 Main gate should not be transparent or such from which the whole house can be seen.
 There should not be any septic tank, sump, bore well etc. on the way to main gate.
 Rainwater should not fall on the main gate.
 Red color should not be used in main gate until and unless owner’s own astrological chart
allows it.

Vastu for Borewell

 The place for bore well is Northeast, East or North.
 Calculations should be made before selecting the spot. This can be done by taking proper
advice of a Vastu Expert.
 Bore well in Northwes, Southwest, Southeast, South are very bad as per vastu norms. This
could lead to many consequences like financial crisis, Health problem, relationship problem,
litigations, quarrel etc.
 Bore well should not fall on the diagonal line meetig Northeast and Southwest.
 If it is in East or North, it should not cross the area of Northeast.

VASTU FOR OVERHEAD TANK

 Over Head water tank should be kept in South West corner of the house.
 If South West is not possible, it should be kept in South or West direction.
 Overhead tank should never be placed in South East or North East direction.
  Over head tank should not be kept directly on the roof floor. It should be kept on a platform.
 If the stairs are on other side than South West, then keep the overhead tank in South West
direction in such a way that the height is more than anything on the last floor.
 Over flow pipe should be in North East or North West direction.
 Water tank should be of black or blue color.
 It should be covered properly.
 If it happens to be over the master bed room then the position should not be exactly over the
bed.

Vastu for Basement

Basement is not allowed as per Vastu norms. But these days, people insist that due to lack of
space and costly property, they are forced to manage it with basement. Specially in big
apartments and malls, basements are used for parking space.

The storeroom is the place for junk things and the room should be such that it should not
increase the junk things. If placed in wrong place, the number of junk things will increase and
it can be permanent also.

 If basement is must and has to be made, it should be placed in North and East area. South
and West area should be left.
 If complete basement is planned then the level of height of North and East area should be
kept more than South and West.
 Heavy electrical and metallic items should never be kept in basement.
 No basement should be constructed under master bed room and North West area.
 This may lead to sudden failures and accident.
 Shape of the basement should be square or rectangular only.
 Entry to the basement should be from East side. But stairs should never be in North East
corner.
 North West or South East direction of the basement may be used as car parking or
servant’s room.
 Color of the basement should be light.
 Provision should be made so that the sunlight may be received in the basement.

Vastu for Visiting Card

Visiting card is the backbone of business. You are recognized by your identity and Visiting
Card is the medium which discloses your identity. Visiting cards may be designed in
thousand of ways but the best Card is that which fulfil your purpose. For this, it should be
designed as per Vastu. Following are some points to be kept in mind while designing a
Visiting Card:-

 The size of card should be normal i.e. not too big and not too small.
 The card should be one which may be destroyed.
 Color of the card should be cream or white.
 Name should be in upper left corner.
 Contact number should be in upper right corner.
 Company name should be in bottom center.
 Address should be in bottom right corner.
 Center of the card should be kept blank.
 Color for names should be blue, green or black.
 Color for contact details may be red or grey.
 Address should be given in deep yellow, blue, orange colors.

Vastu for Tree & Plant

A plant not only provides a pleasant environment but also a relaxing view and hence they
have a special position in Vastu shastra. Many shastra like GARUN PURAN, RUP
MANDAL and many more states the importance of plants and tree in our life. A healthy plant
not only effect us physically but emotionally too. One should be careful while designing your
garden, Vastu have some suggestions you can implement in your life to make it easy and
prosperous.

 Trees and Plants should be planted in such a position so that the shadow of it doesnot falls
on the building especially fro 9 AM to 3 PM.
 Long and tall trees should always be planted in South and West direction of the house.
 Avoid thorny trees and plants.
 Avoid plants and trees having milk.
 Trees should never be planted in such a position that it comes in line to the main door.
 Good trees are –Pomegranate Tree(Anar), Dalchini, Ashok, Aparajita,Chameli, Neem,
Guvava, Basil etc.
 Bad or Prohibitre trees- Ber, Babool, Pipal, Akolh, Katari, Papaya, Mahua, Jamun, Mango,
Kadamb, Banana etc.
 Tulsi (Basil) is very auspicious. It may be planted anywhere. Northeast is best place for it

Vastu for color

Colors should always be selected as per Vastu. However in some cases particular color may
not suit some of the family member. So, proper care should be taken while selecting the
colors of the house. In general, following colors may be used in different areas:-

 North East :- Light blue Color is good for this direction as this color is associated with
coolness and water.
 East:- White or/and light blue color should be used in East direction.
 South East:- As South East is associated with fire, orange and silver color may be used to
enhance the energy level.
 North:- Green color is good to be used in this direction as it brings harmony and hopes. It is
also good for study.
 North West:- This area is related to air. So white color should be used here.
 West:- West is the place of “Varun” in Hindu mythology nd also associated to water.
So, blue color should be used in this area.
 South West; - This area is associated with the owner. So green and peasch or muddy color is
good for this area.
 South:- South is the area for development and decision making. Red and yellow color is good
for this area.

Vastu for Locker

In old days or old houses, separate room was allotted for locker known as locker room. But
these days’ locker rooms are hardly found due to lack of space. So we are suggesting tips
to keep the locker as per Vastu.

 Locker should be kept in the South West portion of the house.

 It should be kept in the south West corner leaving the wall from both sides by 1 ft.
 Face of the locker should be in North as North is supposed to be the area of Kuber. If North is
not possible at all then East facing can be done.
 Color of the locker inside should be light yellow as this color is supposed to be auspicious for
wealth.
 There should not be any mirror in the locker.
 If the locker is of metal, it should not touch the ground directly. Some wooden piece should be
kept below the locker’s four legs.
 No items should be kept over and above the locker.
 Locker should not be kept under any beam or cellar.
 Doors of the locker should not sound while opening or closing it.
 Locker should never face South as it s worst. And may cause heavy financial losses.
 Lockers should not be without legs.
 The place where lockers are kept should be slight higher in level.
 If there is no space in South then the locker may be kept in West direction facing East.
 Don’t keep any picture or statue of ant God/Goddess in the locker or in front of locker.
 Don’t keep any cloth, utensil and other items in the space where cash is kept inside the
locker.
 If South West is not possible, locker may also be kept in Northern area of the house.
 Locker should be kept in such a way that it should not move up down.
 Locker should not be kept directly in front of the doors.

General Vastu Tips

 There should not be any tree, pole, mobile tower, transformer etc. in front of the gate of
house, building, apartment etc.
 The tap of the house should not be leaking.
 While opening or closing the doors, there should not be any sound.
 Hang some alum and some sea salt on both the sides of entrance of your house.
 Use pinch of sea salt every morning while wiping the floors of house.
 The chairs should not sound while sitting on it.
 Never sleep with your head towards North.
 Never use broken or cracked utensils in the house.
 Old and unused clothes should not be kept.
 Old news papers should be disposed on regular basis.
 Scraps should never be stored inside the house.
 North East position should always be kept clean, light and down.
 North East area should never be used for Toilet, Kitchen, Septic Tank and Stairs.
 Pictures of animals fighting, dry tree, sun set etc should not be used.
 Don’t use mirrors on Wes and South walls.
 One should avoid sitting with crossed legs.
 Bed should never face the mirror.
 Don’t put too many nails on the walls. If flowers or other hangings are to be used during
festivals, remove the same immediately after festival.
 Webs should not be formed in the house. Clean the same on daily basis.
 Broken or cracked mirror should immediately be replaced.
 Rain water of the top floor should flow towards North, East or North East.
 Steps of stairs should be odd.
 Animals like Goat, Cattle, Rabbit, Dogs etc. can be kept in the house.
 Don’t keep plants having thorns and milk.
 Avoid carving of animals and birds on the main door.
 Vastu has impact on rented house also. So check the Vastu before sifting to any rented
house.
 House or Flat without any window or ventilation is inauspicious.
 House which is not properly shaped or cut from corners has adverse effect on the child birth
(Miscarriage).
 If the height of the building is too short, people living in it have wrong associations.
 Building which is high in centre has bad impact on people living in it. They becomes
dependent on others.
 Triangular shaped building is very bad.
 Building whose length is excessive long is bad.
 If there is another building in North East or South East or in front of the building, then there is
financial crisis.
 Main gates of two opposite buildings should never face each other.
 There should not be stopped watch, clock in the house.
 Statue or picture of camel should not be kept in the house.
 Red colored light should not be used everywhere in the house except South East.
 Use of mirrors or reflecting materials outside the building causes failure of the project.
 Use of nails over boundary is prohibited in Vastu.
 Flow of drain water should be in North or East direction.
 There should not be any sound in the Fan.

4. Welcome room of business houses should be located in the east direction or the north-east
corner.

6. Room of office owner should be in south-west direction and he or she should sit facing
north. Do not place temple or idols behind the owner’s seat. There should be a concrete wall
behind owner’s seat and not any glass structure. His or her desk should be rectangular.

8. To ensure a strong financial support system, free the north-west (NW) zone of the business
house from anti-elements and activities. Do not build toilet in this zone as it will hamper the
financial support. Since white horses symbolize financial support, they can be placed in NW
zone.

9. Accounts department should be in the north and east zone and employees dealing with
bank and cash transaction should sit facing east and north direction. All the financial records
should be kept in central north or southwest of the cabinet.

10. Businesses work on payments and new orders. With the help of Vastu you can make this
process smoother. Do not build pantry or paint the north zone in red or pink. Similarly, free
the south-east zone from blue colour and use green plants.

11. Conference room should be placed in the north-west direction.

12. You can place an aquarium with nine goldfish and one blackfish in the North-East
direction.

13. Desks or workstations should be rectangular or square but not L-shaped. Any irregular
shape creates confusion and should be avoided.

14. All the electrical equipment should be placed in the south-east direction of the office
building.

towards north and west before reaching east.
SouthWest is a very important direction in the Vastu and controlling planet is Rahu.

It is important that the House / Vaastu should be always in rectangle shape and there
should not be cut any part of the house. Nairutya or South-west cut is a Major defect
[Dosh]. Though it gives favourable results in its initial days but for a long term it’s never
accepted.

Due to this Cut, South-west corner gets divided in to Two corners and makes the house
in five corners thus the harmful energy of South-west will increases.

According to Vaastu principles, South-west is the Earth element [Prithvi Tatva] and ruled
by planet Rahu, This corner represents the lower waist part of the body. Cut or extension
can create the defect [Vaastu dosh] in South-west. South–west is also more important
corner as compared to North-east.
