I. Topic: I Can Take Care of My Body


Strategies: Student- Centered Approach
II. Objectives:
After 45 minutes of classroom lecture the 80% of the learners with 80% proficiency will be able to:
A . Cognitive:
- Identify the certain part of the body and the things that we use in keeping it clean.
B. Affective:
Internalize the importance of good hygiene.
C. Psychomotor:
Cooperate and follow the steps to the activities prepared by the teacher.

A. Preliminary Activities

Checking of attendance
B. Motivation:

Activity: Picture Interaction

 Ask below questions by displaying the picture.

What are the people doing in the picture?


What might be the time then?
What do you do after waking up from sleep?
What happens if you don't brush your teeth?
We should use soap for bathing daily. Why?
When do you take head bath in a week?
Does your mother allow to play after taking bath? Why?

After a small discussion on these questions, the teacher should elicit the vocabulary "bathing,
combing, going to the washroom, clean, morning, paring, brushing, playing and healthy.

C. Lesson Proper:
Personal hygiene is defined as a condition promoting sanitary practices to the self.
Hygiene is the science concerned with the prevention of illness and maintenance of  
health. (WordNet® 3.0, © 2006 by Princeton University)

It is important to know, understand and practice good personal hygiene for as early
as childhood to ensure a healthy lifestyle up until the stage of puberty and adulthood.
Activity: Speaking Activity
Let your students stand in a row towards the class. And then tell your students to say the
sentence what's happening in the picture by showing the picture to the whole class one by one.
Say like, the first action word, and then the sentence.
1. Bathing: He is bathing.
2. Washing: She is washing her hands.
3. Brushing: She is brushing her teeth.
4. Playing: He is playing.
5. Drinking: He is taking Vitamins
6. Sleeping: She is Sleeping.

Activity: "Yes-Yes, No-No."


    To do this activity we should keep a few things we use to clean and wash our body. Along with
that, we mix other things like pen, pencil ball, and mug...etc to do this activity. Then get three boxes,
one is labeled as "Yes", another one is "No" and rest is to keep all these objects. Then keep the "yes"
and "no" boxes on the table. Then say your students, when the teacher shows an object to the
children, they should say "yes- yes" if its used for clean and wash our body and put the object in the
yes box, if not say "no-no" and put in the no box.
By doing this activity we can list out the things we use to clean our body.
Example: Soap, brush, comb, towel and nail cutter...etc.

D. Application:
Picture Match:

Let students identify the parts of the body in column A and connect it to column B that shows the
things that keeping our body clean.

E. Evaluation:

Distribute the activity sheet to each student. They will encircle the material needed in keeping

the certain body part clean.

F. Assignment:

At your home, do the following things with the supervision of your parents.
1. Bathing
2. Brushing your teeth
3. Washing your hand
4. Cutting your nails
5. Cleaning your ears
6. Combing your hairs
