SYNOPSIS

Project : NGO Management System

INTRODUCTION:
The project entitled Helping Hands is developed to provide an opportunity for the
user to make contribution to the NGO. This project is developed to manage all the
operations of the NGO in a very interactive and easy way. It will have all the basic module to
manage Helping Hands operations.

PROJECT:
The Helping Hands website provides the NGO with a system for its management.
Powerful enough to meet your information management needs but lightweight enough to
use in low-bandwidth areas, Helping Hands supports everything from collecting donations to
events operations in the field. Helping Hands is a website that maintain the records related
to donations, events, funds, volunteers, donors, etc.

OBJECTIVE:
The main objective of the Helping Hands website is to provide the NGO a system for
its management. Records can be maintained as a soft copy. Lesser manual work will be
required as this is convenient, efficient and less error prone. All of the calculations and
bookkeeping are done automatically. The interface is obvious enough to use without any
experience. Promotions and event activities motivates donor to volunteer and provide help
to NGO.

FUTURE SCOPE:
1. In future, we will try to make availability of various schemes for NGOs/VOs in the
automated way using a online platform so that it will be done in in time.
2. This is a window based application; hence it has a limited access. We will try to
make it online so that its access gets widened & users from all over the India can access
these services.
3. If this software will be online, then it will facilitates many online services like:-

 Online application for schemes/projects.


 Online tracking application.
 Special announcement.
Description and identification of the Functional modules:
 SIGN UP: The Donor can create account for the fist time by signing up and
providing personal details and the registration will be confirmed.
 LOG IN: The donor will be able to sign in to the system and can use the
features by accessing the website.
 FORGOT PASSWORD: The users who don’t remember their password can get a
chance to get a new password by the help of security question or OTP.

 SEARCHING: The users can search about the events organized by the NGO,
they can also search the blogs maintained.
 DONATE: The Donor can pledge donation after logging in to his/her account,
and can view previous donation history.
 Volunteer: The Donor can volunteer to the NGO by registering himself.
 Enquiry: The Donor/volunteer can enquire about his/her query by submitting
the enquiry form online and the managers will act upon it precisely.
 Feedback Module: Used for feedback from users.
 Media and Blog: This module displays gallery & written blogs of Helping Hands

PROJECT CATEGORY

This project as title “Helping Hands” comes under the Relational Database Management
System (RDBMS). This application is developed with the help of Java 8 and Apache
Derby. This application can also be run on the network environment so it can be said
as network application.

Tools/Platforms
This project is developed using the tools, which are most suited for development of the
Application Package. These tools are as follows: -

1.Netbeans 7.4

2.Java 8 (For front end)

3.Apache Derby (For Database Storage as Back end)
