Why selling and salesmanship is important to study for the students of


business administration?

Selling: Selling is first and foremost a transaction between the seller and the prospective buyer
or buyers (the target market) where money (or something considered to have monetary value) is
exchanged for goods or services.

Salesmanship: Salesmanship is defined as the level of skill you have in convincing people to


buy or in persuading people to do something. A worker at a car dealership who sells the most
cars month after month is an example of a person with great salesmanship skills.

Why study of selling and salesmanship is important?

1. Selling is one of those skills that will always be in demand. Every company , no matter
what product or service they offer needs at least one talented and dedicated salesperson.
After all, how many companies can survive if no-one buys their goods or services? So, if
we can learn how to sell, and sell really well, we’ll always have work. Being able to sell
will also give us choices. we’ll not only be able to work for a company as a salesperson,
we’ll have the option of working as a freelance salesperson. Or, we could choose to put
our skills to use on products or services that we sell through my own business. Plus, the
basic principles of selling are the same the world over, so we can move to where there is
opportunity. We can learn each and every thing about this if we study selling and
salesmanship.

2. Business is all about Sales. The ability to communicate our product and service, and to
believe in that product or service, will ignite the excitement, needed to sell, therefore
generating more customers, and more business.so, study selling and salesmanship is
mandatory.

3. Whether our business is some form of commerce selling our products or services, or even
if we are not involved in selling as part of a business, learning how to sell is one of the
most important skills anyone can ever learn.
4. If we are involved in the business of selling products and services we must know how to
attract the attention of our potential customers, explain the details, features, and benefits
of what we are offering them, get the customer interested and excited about what we are
telling them, and learn how to convince the customer to buy from us, rather than someone
else. So, it does not matter if we are writing ad copy for a website, or selling something
face to face with a customer. There is no best way to sell. It really depends on our
personality, how well we can communicate, and how much trust or empathy we can
establish with our potential customer. All these things we can learn from selling and

5. This course educates students so that they can find the products they want, make better
choices about those products, and extract the  most value from them. In this way, it helps
facilitate exchanges  between buyers and sellers for the mutual benefit of both parties.

In the study, we learn how to create from promotion, price,  product and place a
marketing mix that includes all the important factors for a successful sale. So learning
selling and salesmanship would be great if we want to enter in B2B / B2C sales or
Marketing (Offline / Online) role.

Ans: I want to launch a shoe company, which name is ABC shoes, now there are already two
big competitors in the market, bata and apex, now I should develop a marketing a strategy..

the hands of the client. The extensive field of marketing includes activities such as:

 Designing the product so it will be required for customers by using the tools such as
marketing review and prices.
 Promote the products so people will know about it by using tools such as advertising and

 Pricing, and let potential customers know about our product and making it available to
them.
