PREFACE
The purpose of the unit is that the student knows the basic structures of the English
language to express themselves orally and in writing, using the communicative
functions corresponding to the Verb to be, Present Simple, Present Progressive and
also the vocabulary that corresponds to this course.

COMPETITION
The student elaborates and designs long sentences referring to the grammatical
structures of the Present Simple, Continuous in affirmative, interrogative and
BASIC ENGLISH I

negative to adapt to communicative situations of his surroundings, also knows


relevant information about the family, means of transport and uses it for the

PRESENTACIÓN Y CONTEXTUALIZACIÓN
Without a doubt, the English language is the most useful. English is spoken by
approximately 350 million people as if their mother tongue. Additionally, 800-1000
million people can speak English as a second language. The total number of people who
speak English worldwide is approximately 1.5 billion. English is considered the universal
language because it is officially spoken in 54 countries. different,

interests of the students in order to extract general and specific information, and
use reading as a source of pleasure and personal enrichment.
 Write simple texts with different purposes on different topics using adequate
cohesion and coherence resources.
