Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy Level(s):

Levels of Technology Integration:

☐ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☒ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): I have provided representation through the video and PowerPoint,
which includes subtitles, images, and video to support all students, even with hearing and visual impairments.
The images are big and simple for students with visual impairments. There are subtitles on the video and
PowerPoint, as well as a transcript, for students with hearing impairments. The content is taught through the
video and reviewed on the PowerPoint to ingrain it in their heads. I have provided multiple means of action
and expression by having the students draw their morning routine on paper, and then putting it into another
type of BPT, for example, PowerPoint, Word, Google Slides, or Prezi. This lesson allows students to share their
personal morning routine, which is engaging. It makes it personal, keeping the students interested.

Lesson idea implementation: The teacher will lead the PowerPoint while asking students questions about
the video to review material. They will act as the facilitator by having students explore to figure out the
sequence but asking questions to lead them in the right direction. The students will choose which BPT they
would like to create their product in. The project will be introduced through the video at the beginning of the
PowerPoint. After students complete the worksheet with their morning routine, they will be told to copy that
worksheet into a BPT of their choice. This will take about 3 days to complete. The first day will be introducing
the topic and completing the paper version of their morning routine. The second day will be making a digital
copy of this routine. The third day will be making final touches to their digital copy. The students will be
assessed by correctly using transition words and using the correct sequence of events. They will be able to
explain to the teacher and class which order the events happen.

Basic Productivity Tools (BPT)

The final product will be used to differentiate learning by giving a wide variety of methods for the students to
work. The students will be able to choose the BPT that suits their learning style best. The final product will
include a narration, images, and words to accommodate for all students, regardless of impairments. I will
extend learning to a higher learning level by having them create their own product. The students will not just
understand the content, but they will demonstrate their understanding through this presentation. This causes
them to think harder and apply the concept to their personal experience. It is applied to their personal
experiences because they have to think about the sequence of events in their morning routine. I will conclude
the lesson by having the students each share their presentation to the class and asking questions to be sure
all students grasp the concept. If there seems to be issues, I will address these privately with the student and
give feedback to sort out the misconceptions. I will provide this feedback by writing notes on their paper copy
of the project.

Reflective Practice: I feel the activities could impact student learning by teaching them to use the BPTs that
they will use for the rest of their lives. Practicing with these tools now prepares them for the future, since this
is required for their school career and many professions. It causes them to practice higher level thinking and
understand how to transfer knowledge to a demonstration through these tools. I could further extend this
lesson by reading a book with the class and having them create a PowerPoint displaying the sequence of
events in the book. This causes them to recall the events in the book and put them in the correct order. Other
technology tools that would enhance this project would be to publish their presentation on a site to share
with other students around the globe.
