    Ma’am,

    1. Consumer Education and Research Society (CERS) is a registered


    society under the Societies Registration Act (XXI) of 1860. It is also a
    public charitable trust under the Bombay Public Trusts Act. The society
    was registered on 15th December, 1986. The society is mainly devoted
    to the promotion and protection of consumer interest through
    complaint handling, publication, legal research, media and effective
    uses of legal processes. It also undertakes research and investigation
    into various consumer problems in different fields.

    2. Under the instructions from and on behalf of our member Mr. Yatrik
    Goswami, residing at 403, Ashrayam-5, Civil Staff Squarter
    Meghaninagar, Ahmedabad – 380025, hereinafter referred to as the
    complainant, we hereby serve upon you the following legal notice:

    3. That the complainant took his child’s admission in Firdaus Amrut School
    as a regular candidate in 1 st standard. The complainant had also
    submitted his son’s admission form in Kendriya Vidhyalay and got
    enrolled in the same.

    4. That the complainant had requested Amrut School to cancel his son’s
    enrollment and refund his tuition and cafeteria fees since the
    admissions were still enduring and therefore the seat could not have
    been left vacant, causing no loss to the school.

    5. That the complainant thereafter received a refund of his cafeteria fees i.e.
    Rs. 4350/- but the tuition fees of Rs. 22,050/- was not reimbursed.

    6. Being aggrieved by the non – reimbursement of the tuition fees, the


    complainant made several requests to Amrut school to pay back the
    same, but the complainant received no positive reply with respect to his
    genuine claim. Hence the complainant approached CERC vide letter
    dated 05.05.2019, followed by first reminder letter dated 20.05.2019
    and to the said letter neither CERC nor the complainant received any
    positive reply.

    7. Therefore, you are, by way of this legal notice called upon to pay the
    amount of Rs. 22,050/- that has not yet been paid to the complainant,
    within 15 days from the date of receipt of this notice, failing which the
    School would become liable for an appropriate legal action being
    initiated by us on behalf of the complainant. Apart from the aforesaid
    the School would also become liable for any legal proceedings, civil
    and/or criminal, to be initiated against you but the complainant

    A copy of this legal notice is being retained by us for future reference.
