CALL TO WORSHIP (Psalm 103:1-2, 20-22 NIV) Rev. Greg Gibson

Pastor: Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
All: Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits.
Pastor: Praise the Lord, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.
All: Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.
Pastor: Praise the Lord, all his works
everywhere in his dominion.
All: Praise the Lord, my soul!

OPENING HYMN To God Be the Glory TO GOD BE THE GLORY

1. To God be the glory, great things he hath done!
So loved he the world that he gave us his Son,
who yielded his life an atonement for sin,
and opened the lifegate that all may go in.
(Refrain)
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father thru Jesus the Son,
and give him the glory, great things he hath done!
2. Great things he hath taught us, great things he hath done,
and great our rejoicing thru Jesus the Son;
but purer, and higher, and greater will be
our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.
(Refrain)

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (The Apostles’ Creed)

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

CALL TO PRAYER Rev. Jody Farrell

Holy God, creator of all, the risen Christ taught from Scripture of his death,
resurrection, and ascension into your glorious presence.
May the living Lord breathe on us his peace,
that our eyes may be opened to recognize him in our daily living
and to follow wherever he leads. With this unstoppable hope, we go to you in prayer.

CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER
Gracious God,
you have given us the law of Moses and the teachings of Jesus
to direct us in the way of life. You offer us your Holy Spirit
so that we can be born to new life as your children. Yet, O God,
we confess that the ways of death have a strong attraction,
and that we often succumb to their lure. Give us the vision and conviction
to choose and nurture life, that we may receive your blessing. Amen.

PASTORAL PRAYER

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
