Summary:
This article is basically written on the base of the Cambodian economy. Writers make a relation
between the exchange rate and the GDP rate of Cambodia. For this reason they used many
parameters and variables. Here I make a summary of the article. What is the purpose of the
article, review of the article, methodology of the article, findings are discussed here. At the last
point I have mentioned that what I have learned from this assignment.

Introduction:
The article title I have chosen is The Impacts of Exchange Rate on Economic Growth in
Cambodia. The writers of the article are LongVolakis, Ignatius Abasiam, Yang Fan. I collected
the article from the InternationalJournal of Applied Economics, Finance and Accounting.
Publication year is 11 November 2019, ISSN 2577-767X, volume 5, page number from 78 to 83,
DOI: 10.33094/8.2017.2019.52.78.83, and the article is licensee by the author from Online
Academic Press, USA in 2019. The collected the related data from The World Bank Database
(1991-2019). This article received no specific financial support and the authors have no
competing interests.

Purpose of the Article:

The main goal of the article is to make a relationship between the exchange rate and economic
growth that is define as gross domestic product (GDP) of Cambodia. Cambodia is a developing
country. During the last ten years, the GDP of this country is increasing tremendously with a rate
of about 6% to 7%. Exchange rate has a positive relation with GDP. If exchange rate is increased
then GDP is also increased respectively. But there are some others variables create some
problems on the path of achieving this goal. For example, open trade market (OTM), inflation
rate (IFR), foreign direct investment (FDI) are some components which are negatively correlated
with the GDP.
At present many foreign investment inflows to Cambodia purposely running business, and other
capital investments, so a lot of foreign currency flows into the Cambodia economy. The price of
the product should be kept stable with the GDP rate. At the same time the inflation rate also kept
under the acceptable rate. They are the basic challenge for a developing country like Cambodia.

In this situation the national bank of Cambodia (NBC) can do the main task to continue the
development of the country. The main task is to define and guide the monetary policy to
maintain price stability. But the dollarization policy has made it difficult for the financial
authority of the Cambodia. Here we found that the authors of the article shows us how NBC
take the task and control the inflation rate and price stability in Cambodia nevertheless the GDP
rate is going at a rate of over 7%.
The article is to find the process of the economic development of Cambodia and increase the rate
of GDP by the increasing rate of exchange rate.

Methodology andData analysis tools of the Article:

In this article the authors used some variables and some parameters such as gross domestic
product (GDP) which is indicated the economic growth in Cambodia, the exchange rate (EXR),
inflation rate (IFR), money supply, open trade market (OTM), foreign direct investment (FDI).
They use the ordinary least square (OLS) model to find or calculate the GDP. This study used the
data from the World Bank data base system from 2001 to 2019. By the help of the statistical data
software data was analyzed. They used some dependent and some independent variables to
calculate the data.

Findings of the Article:

The main findings of the article are gross domestic product (GDP) is directly related to the
exchange rate of Cambodia and has a great deal with the economic growth of Cambodia. In this
situation the main guardian of Cambodia is the national bank of Cambodia (NBC). It has taken
some good decision to protect and continue the economical development of Cambodia. The main
task of the authority is to keep the inflation rate controlled and the price of the commodity should
keep in stable for this remarkable growth rate of economy or GDP over 7% every year. Although
Cambodia is a developing country but during the last few years the economic condition of
Cambodia and the economic growth which is define as GDP is in very comfortable condition.
So we can say that by controlling exchange rate with respect to other variables Cambodian
authority become successful to continue their economic development. The main findings of the
study are how a developing country can control inflation rate, price stability and economical
growth (GDP) by taking some task and with the help of exchange rate movement.

Learning reflection:
I have learned many important things while I was doing this assignment. By making this
assignment I also faced some problems like how to make an assignment on an article, how to
find journals from internet and what is the process to make a summary on the article. I always
follow the instruction of my honorable faculty. I have read the article five times first and try to
understand the main thing of the articleand then write the summary according to the
guidelines. The main challenge was to understand the article and write a summary according to
the directions. Find a good and related article was another challenge. To overcome this problem I
read the meaning of the article line by line and write them on my note book. I also visited some
site to find a related article in Google. By this way I overcome the problems.I learned the process
that how we can search in the Google to find a good journal where I can find a good article of
famous writers. How to read an article and find its purpose, methodology, and data analyses etc.
What types of data are used in the article, how authors write a standard article in the journal and
how data is collected from the different types of database management systems. Data calculation
process, formula, making result and many others things.
After doing this assignment I have gained such type of knowledge as I can make a standard
article on any related topic in the future with the help of faculty and guidelines.

techniques. This implies that the rise in an exchange rate induces changes in an
