II. DATA ANALYSIS

A. FACTORS AFFECTING QUEUE TIMES

In the queue time column we can see that customer no. 19 has the longest time
in the queue which is 9minutes and 22seconds. On the transaction time column the
customer who had the longest transaction time is also customer no. 19 which is
0.55seconds. On the after transaction time column, customer no. 19 had 5minutes
and 12seconds of waiting her order to be completed. Therefore, customer 19 had
the longest total transaction time which is 14minutes and 9seconds. I think the
reason why the customers’ queue time, transaction time and the after transaction
time takes so long because the fast food chain doesn’t have enough
employee/service crew. And another factor that affect the queue times is the
shortage of the cashier machines, we noticed that only two machines are available in
taking orders. And we also observed that some of the employees are not doing their
responsibility and they are just doing the same task on the same spot. There are
also some instances that makes the queue time longer when the customer doesn’t
know what exactly he/she is going to order.
B. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS/SUGGESTIONS
We think hiring more employees will make better outcomes in the case of
queuing this may lessen the total transaction time of the fast food chain and
accommodate many customers. Another suggestion is that if possible all counter
should be operating because as we mentioned above two counters are only
operating while others are not, then we think it is better if all the counter will be
working. Then they should also add service crew to lessen the after time transaction
of every customer and their food will be served much faster. Another suggestion is
that the employees should do their assigned tasks.
