SHUJABAD WEAVING MILLS

Telling about one’s self

 I started off as an ordinary student in my life. My father’s

death in my matriculation period changed the road of my life
drastically. I, then decided to establish myself and have my
firm footing in the race of life since I was the only hope of my
family and I had to be the sole bread winner of my family. I
started burning the midnight lamp and then passed my
Intermediate plus my Bachelors in 1st division. I was the
GOLD MEDALIST amongst my batch in bachelors (B.com)
from Punjab University. Then I did my Masters (M.com) from
Punjab University and was again awarded the Gold Medal. 

Professional Career:

 My professional career started as a lecturer at Punjab

University. I taught there for about 3 years. After having an
educational experience, I headed towards doing ICMA. My
quest for being an established person did not just end here, I
moved ahead towards doing Chartered Accountancy (CA) and
by the Grace of ALMIGHTY ALLAH, I qualified for my
articleship in 2 years and 10 months with commendable
results.
Experience

 After achieving all the qualifications that I had dreamt of, I

was offered a post as Deputy General Manager at Abbasi
Textile Mill at Rahim Yar Khan. I provided my services as
Deputy GM for 2 years and then I was promoted as GM and I
gave 10 precious years of my life serving them. Not only this, I
served as an Executive Director for 6 years in the above
mentioned firm.

Starting my Own Business

 After submitting my Resignation, I had decided to set up a

business of my own and hence, in 1996, I formed a Textile
Trading Business After submitting my Resignation, I had
decided to set up a business of my own and hence, I formed a
Textile Trading Business After submitting my Resignation, I
had decided to set up a business of my own and hence, I
formed a Textile Trading Business in Multan.

Strengths

 My main strengths have been my educational background. My

educational background was the field of accountancy. Plus
another factor which proved to be a huge support for me was
my consistency in my business. Although I faced huge losses
at times but I did not change my course of business and kept
on doing trading with my full interest and determination.

No Entrepreneurial Background

 I found out that the manufacturing concern was quite capital

demanding and there was extensive risk involved in it. I
started trading textile products and did not purchase any
machinery of my own. By the Grace of ALMIGHTY ALLAH,
I was able to recover all my costs within a period of one year.
My experience and public relations became the core strength
of my business. Since that time, I have been trading textile
products and have accumulated reasonable amount of wealth.
None of my family members has ever been in any business. I
was the first one to start a business and that even of our own.

Role Models

 I have always been influenced by the people of Karachi. My

role models are the ‘middle men’ of trading businesses. They
carry their businesses in such a protective manner that they
never get their money stuck into anything. They always have
excessive amounts of cash in hand and whenever they find
any attractive opportunity, they immediately invest into it
which provides them with fruitful results.

Spotting Opportunities
 Then came a time when I along with 4 other partners set up
an Industry with the name of SHUJABAD AGRO
INDUSTRY. We started this project with 1 billion rupees
investment. I myself am the Director of this industry.

Predictions

 After all these years of experience in serving another firm and

then running my own business for the last 14 years, a time has
come when predicting things has not been a great problem.
Most of the things tend to turn out to be in the same manner
as I predict. Though it does happen that my predictions at time
don’t usually turn out to be correct but this has never affected
my business and my relations in a severe manner.

Family Situation

 When my father died we just had enough financial wealth to

support us in a very middle class manner. But after all these
years of hard work and determination, a time has come when
we became somebody from nobody.

Most Valuable Asset

 My most valuable asset in my eyes is my experience that I

gained over the 16 years in which I served a firm. Those 16
years provided a basis for setting up my own business and
today a time has come when I have been doing a successful
business for the last 14 years.
Crucial Time

 There have been some instances in my life when I sold my

goods on credit to some purchasers in Faislabad and they
unfortunately failed to pay me for the supplies. I had to face
severe consequences due to these but by the time, ALLAH
helped me and I paved my way towards the stairs of success
once again.

Evaluation of Our Learning

Our experience of interviewing the entrepreneur has been

highly interesting and beneficial for us. It is not necessary that
what we see today is actually what was in the past. We learned
from our interview that behind the success of such
entrepreneurs, there is always constant effort, hard work,
commitment and determination. Relevant work experience is
very necessary for the efficient and effective running of any
business. Moreover, luck and fate does play a very vital role in
the success of a business. An entrepreneur’s business life
always faces ups and downs but with constant determination
and commitment and sincerity, one can go face all the
challenges of life.

RAMADA HOTEL

Telling about one’s self

 I did my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from

London in 1996. My father generated the idea of pursuing a
hotel business of our own. This provided me the motivation
and I myself took under consideration the construction of our
Hotel and hence we started its construction. In 3 years time,
our hotel came into existence.

Professional Career

 My aptitude was towards the automobile sector. My father was

already running an automobile showroom business. I
therefore decided to make our family business more precise
and focused and hence I converted our showroom into brand
identifying showroom of Honda cars named as Honda Breeze.
Since any one person in our family had to give his full
attention to the showroom, so, I decided to leave my hotel
business into the hands of my brother and father and I started
to focus totally towards Honda Breeze. I have tried my level
best to provide each and every facility to my customers in the
most privileged manner which makes every single customer of
our showroom feel special.

Experience

By the time, my father’s health started to deteriorate. I along

with concentration towards the showroom started taking
interest in the hotel business too. A time came when
unfortunately my brother passed away which was a huge blow
to the health of my father. My showroom business has helped
me in establishing very vital and successful ties with people
and that is why people started preferring my hotel.

Strengths

 My strength in this hotel business has been innovation. I

always try that none of my employees should face any kind of
de-motivation in my business and hence for that purposes, the
hotel management celebrated the Birthday of each and every
employee that is working in the organization regardless of the
post they are working at. This keeps the employees motivated
and they keep on performing very well at the workplace which
satisfies our customers and this leads to customer retention.
Entrepreneurial Background

 My family background has always been entrepreneurial.

During the time when I was completing my education, my
father used to own the business named as Hameed Motors.
Furthermore, my father had been dealing with this hotel
business till his death, So, this provided me an
entrepreneurial base and his experience has always helped me
when I am making my business deals.

Role Models

 My role model is My Father. He has always been a source of

inspiration for me. His attitude towards every individual
concerned with the hotel business has always been a very vital
source of motivation for me.

Predictions

 Predicting things has not been a great problem. Most of the

things tend to turn out to be in the same manner as I predict.
Though it does happen that my predictions at time don’t
usually turn out to be correct but this has never affected my
business and my relations in a severe manner.
Family Situation

 My family situation has not been of great concern mostly. By

the Grace of ALMIGHTY ALLAH, we have always been a
financially sound family.
