COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is a theoretical/practical course, which provides oral and written information for daily
communication. Oral and written texts contain simple vocabulary and basic syntactic structures.

This course is divided into 3 modules, which complement themselves, thus helping the student
to have a strong grasp of the linguistics-reading, writing, and listening skills.

BASIC 1
Introducing Themselves And A Partner. ( ways of greetings around the word)

GENERIC COMPETENCES:
 Recognize the importance of the correct use of the English language.
 Apply grammar patterns in writing sentences.
 To use existing vocabulary and grammar skills.
 To gain confidence in the four language skills.
 Apply the different verb tenses in English sentences.
 Show interest in developing linguistic knowledge and social integration.

SPECIFIC COMPETENCES:
 Use demonstrative adjectives correctly.
 Distinguish countable and uncountable nouns in sentences.
 Complete sentences using the appropriate verb forms.
 Develop different practices according to the basics.
 Compare the use of modal auxiliaries.
 Differentiate infinitive and gerund forms in sentences.
 Discuss different basic syntactic structures.

METHODOLOGY
The course will be developed through high participation and discussions. The content will be
presented through individual or group work activities. Oral and written practices will be taken in
consideration for evaluation purposes.
