INTRODUCTION:
Calcium is silvery white bivalent metallic element
of the alkaline-earth group occurring only in combination,and is an essential
constituents of most plants and animals.

The name derived from latin word

“CALX”(lime).Davy was the first to prepare the metal by electrolytic
method in 1808.The pure metal was obtained by Moissan in 1898 by
reduction of calcium iodide with metallic sodium.

Calcium is major mineral element of the body.It

constitutes 1.5to 2% of the body weight of the adult human. 99% of the
calcium in the body found in the bones.

The amount in the blood is usually about

10mg/100ml. There is a dynamic equilibrium between the calcium in the
blood and in the skeleton.This equilibrium is maintained by parathyroid
gland and cholecalciferol.

E.A. FARRIGTON says,

Calcarea . phos seems especially called for in defective nutrition, hence it is

often useful in childhood as well as at puberty and in extreme old age.
Beginning with the infant, we shall find it of ines rather flabby abdomen,and
predisposed to glandular and osseous diseases.

It is useful in osteitis at the ends of the diapheses.This “mother of pearl”

causes such a disease among workmen.

Next,we will consider hepar sulphuris calcarea. This is really an impure

calcium sulphide, containing traces of the sulphide of lime,organic matter
possibly, and very likely, too, minute proportion of the phosphate of lime,
since it is made from the middle layer of the oyster shell & flowers of
Sulphur. It is valuable addition to the powers of lime and Sulphur used
separately. It possesses many similarities to and marked differences from its
components.Hepar is antidote to metallic poison.

Although the mineral elements constitute a relatively small amount of body

tissues they are essential to many vital process. The balance of ions in the
tissues is of great important. Example normal ossification demands a proper
ratio of calcium and phosphorous the normal ratio between potassium
calcium in the extracellular fluid must be maintain to ensure normal action
of the muscle.

Certain mineral element, principally sodium & potassium are the major
function in osmotic control of water metabolism,other minerals are an
integral part of important, physiologic component such as iodine in
thyroxine, iron in haemoglobin, biotin,coenzyme & lipoicacid.

silicea,lycopodium.

Chalk which is a main source of calcium consist of the deposits of the

remain of million & millions of the shells of sea animals.

The bones as one of the hardest tissues in the body, Represent stability &
give firmmess & stability to the body, as in cases of the brain & spinal cord

the surrounding bony tissues. Hard cranium & the vertebral column provide
protection to the soft, pulpy,nervous tissues.

Calcarea carb is prepared from the snow white middle layer of the oyster
shell. The oyster shell is formed by the calcareous secretion of the oyster
which is the result of its attempt to protect it self from the external
environment.

It is well known that all living creatures originated from the sea.Where as
the earth represents solid stability & inertia. So the oyster in its attempt to
protect it self create a covering for it self & thus also provide with a house
& there by unconscious stabilies it self on terra firma.

The stabilization & lack of mobility is exhibited in the syptoms of calcarea

by inertia and aggravation on movement & excertion.

Just as the solid oyster shell come out of the liquid sea so also throughout the
symptomatology. Calcarea is the tendency to solidify to precipitate to
coagulate. So this tendency is seen in the formation of calculi & clots, the
clots of course to protect the organism from excessive bleeding.

Calcium present in the body in larger amount than any other cation,It is the
most abundant mineral in the body and 90% of calcium is found the bons &
teeth.

The very small quantity left out of the skeletal structure is in part ionized
.Ionised calcium is of great importance in blood coagulation & in the
permeability of membrane.

In my studies shown the following results:

As shown in the above chart the maximum incidence were between the age
group 20-30. i.e. 30% (3cases) of the cases comes under this age group. The
minimum incidence were between the age group 1-10 &. 00% (0case) of the case
is in this age group.

INCIDENCE OF SEX

As shown in the above chart the incidence is FEMALE sex increased

incidence rate then the male cases.

CALCIUM GROUP REMEDIES

As per the above shown table frequently used acid group remedy was calcarea
carbonica, accounting for 50% and 5cases & others remedies was cacarea flour,
calcarea silicate, calcarea ova tosta, hepar.sulph, for remaining cases
respectively.

The study of 10 cases of acid group of remedy revealed that the maximum
incidence occurs in the middle age group and the incidence is equal between
both sexes.

As shown in the above chart the maximum incidence were between the age

minimum incidence were between the age group 1-10 &. 00% (0case) of the case
is in this age group.

In case of sex incidence is increased in female sexes.(60 %) of cases.

As per the above shown table frequently used calcium group remedy was
