CONTENT STANDARD: The Learner demonstrates understanding of common and distinct musical
characteristics of East Asian countries.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD: The Learner performs East Asian music with appropriate pitch, rhythm,
expression and style.
Learning Competencies: The learner will be able to
a. Know the traditional instruments and folk songs.
b. Analyze musical elements of selected songs and instrumental pieces heard and performed;
Specific Learning Competencies: At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
a. Differentiate the two types of Korean music;
b. Sing a Korean song; and
c. Respect and Appreciate the Music of Korea.
TIME ALLOTMENT: 120 minutes

LESSON OUTLINE TEACHER`S TIPS
I. INTRODUCTION (10 Minutes)
a. Opening prayer
b. Review or Recap of the previous lessons
II. MOTIVATION (15 minutes) Students do as told
Activity 1.
The teacher will show some pictures of famous singers in
Korea and let the students to name them by simply arranging Students answer
the scrambled words and ask the student question after all the
pictures are presented.
 
1. Who loves Korea here? Can I ask why you love Korea?
2. Are Koreans/Korea influential? Yes or No? In what
way/why?
3. What do you think is our lesson today?

III. DELIVERY/INSTRUCTION (40 minutes) The teacher will provide presentations of the content with pictures and video/sound clips.
The teacher formally discuss the Music in Korea.

IV. PRACTICE (20 Minutes)

Activity 2:
The teacher will divide the class into 4 groups. Each group
will be given a table and they will fill it up. They will be
given 5 minutes to finish it.

Activity 3: GROUP PRESENTATION


With the same group, they will sing the famous
folksong of Korea “Arirang” . They will be given 10
minutes to practice. Their presentation will be assess with
the following rubrics.

Musicality- 30%
Stage Presence-20%
Cooperation with the group- 20%
TOTAL- 100%
