Type: 03 (project delay work)

1. 36 workmen are employed to finish a certain work in 48 days. But it is found that in 24 days only 2/5
work is done. How many more men must be to finish the work in time? Correct Answer: 18
2. A contractor undertook a work to complete in 60 days, but just after 20 days he observed that only 1/5th
of the work had been completed. To complete the work in time minimum how many workers he had to
increase? If initially 75 workers were deployed.

Type:04 ( time and efficiency)

Efficiency is inversely proportional to the time. If A is twice as efficient as B.it means A takes half time to
finish the same job as B requires working alone.

1. A takes 16 days to finish a job alone while B takes 8 days to finish the same job alone. What is the ratio
of their efficiency?
2. A is thrice efficient as B and A takes 20 days to do a job. Then in how many days B can finish the job?
3. A and B can do a job together in 12 days. A is 2 times as efficient as B. In how many days can B alone

4. Bimala is 50% more efficient than Kamala. Kamala can do a work in 15 days. The number of days,

Type: 04(relations between efficiency)

There is a great difference between 'and' & 'Or'. For example 4 men and 8 women can do a work in 10 days:
means it is unknown that who is Faster or slower (unknown efficiency relation between them)

Again, 4 men or 8 women can do a work in 10 days: means 4 men are equal to 8 women. Hence a man is
twice efficient as a woman.

Or operator

1) If 3 men or 4 women can build a wall in 43 days, in how many days can 7 men and 5 women build this wall?
Correct Answer: 1days

2) If 12 men or 18 women can do a piece of work in 14 days. How long will 8 men and 16 women take to
finish the work?

And operator

1) 3 men can do a piece of work in 6 days. 5 women can do the same work in 18 days. If 4 men and 10
women work together, then how long will it take to finish the work? Correct Answer: 3 days

2) 6 boys and 8 women finish a job in 6 days and 14 boys and 10 women finish the same job in 4 days. In how

1. A mason can build a tank in 12 h. After working for 6 h, he took the help of a boy and finished the work
in another 5 h. The time that the boy will take alone to complete the work is? Correct Answer: 6h

work in 6 days.

1) 16 liter mixture contains sugar and water in the ratio 3:1. What is the quantity of water and milk in the
mixture?
