    ▪ Chrysopogon aciculatus’ invasive nature making it easy
    to grow, consuming higher control cost.

    ▪ Reproduce by stolon that spread quickly over the soil.

    ▪ To control, we need to remove the whole plant including


    the stolon from the ground.

    ▪ One way is to use sod cutter-like machine.

    ▪ Also can be used for medicinal purposes.


    ▪ Manually – By using hand spade, shovel, or sod cutter
    ▪ The Sod cutter machine are the solutions and tools for harvesting/control Chrysopogon aciculatus,
    known as ‘rumput kemuncup’.

    ▪ A manual sod cutter is economical and environmental-friendly.

    ▪ Sod cutters are machines designed to remove grass with roots and most of the soil installed
    together.

    ▪ Can cut sod strips in varying thicknesses.

    ▪ Use force of kicking while pushing the sod cutter ( the
    handler )
    ▪ Load is the sod Chrysopogon aciculatus
    ▪ Fulcrum is the horizontal blade
    How it is Made?

    ▪ Resembles manual lawn mower

    with,
    ✓ two handle bars
    ✓ 3 pairs of different size metal pipe ( support )
    ✓ 3 cutting bars ( 2 at each side/ 1 below the handle bars )
    ▪ Firstly, safety equipment was
    worn based on PPE.
    ▪ A long piece of iron pipe was
    cut into few pieces with
    specific measurement.
    ▪ After that, the iron steel was
    joined together by using
    welder.
    ▪ Finally, the machine was tested
    for durability.
    Specification of manual
    sod cutter
    1. 100cm long metal pipe (2 pieces) to be
    used as handlebars
    2. 50cm long metal pipe (2 pieces) to
    support cutting bars/blade
    3. 40cm long metal pipe (2 pieces)
    4. 30cm long metal pipe (3 pieces) for
    support
    5. 40cm (length) x 10cm (height) cutting
    bar (2 pieces)
    6. 30cm (length) x 20cm (height) cutting
    bar.
    ▪ Manual sod cutter is heavy due to the weight of the materials

    ▪ More force and work was required to push the manual sod cutter

    ▪ Manual sod cutter is able to cut but it could not continuously cut the grass

    ▪ Depending on the surface, it may be applicable to sand-based soil.

    Add water sprinkler
    attached to a smallest tractor
    available
    The conclusion for this mini project is that the result of the sod cutter tool we

    have created is not suitable on hard soil as it will require more energy to remove the

    ‘rumput kemuncup’. However, for our group, it was a great job as we were able to

    produce a sod cutter tool based on our group's sketches and ideas. This sod cutter

    can also be used for soft soil or sandy areas.
