It is difficult Your praise and it is hidden Your virtues in all


You are visible there in all and You are there in everything
For every particle, you are created from the beginning to end
You are Sustainer of all not in this world and another world
You are Lord of the worlds and you are forgiver of the worlds
You are kind to all and Your kind favor is there for all persons
Those who are pious then You are merciful to such persons
Your special favour and kindness is there for all of them
You are the owner everyone settles deeds on judgment day
In your hands is a penalty and a prize and you are the owner
All our worship is for Your sake, oh Lord of the two worlds
All slaves belong to you from the origin, if he is big or small
For all our needs you are must and Your personality is kind
You give all one who calls you as You are a kind helper to all
Guide us such right path now, on which path who went away
With Your graces and all passed away on such path indeed
But there will be no such way never, which is ignored by You
So who lost and misguided on such way due to your anger
This is the prayer of your slave and the request of your lowest
Accept the prayer of Hafeez as you are owner of two worlds

Tadhkiratal-Auliya’ by Farid-AL-Din Attar

Introduction

Farid Al-din Attar is considered one of the preeminent mystical


poets of the Persian literary tradition. The duration of his life is
uncertain, though he can be placed in the 12th and 13th
centuries C.E. born in Nishapur in what is today Iran. Attar
apparently was a pharmacist but little information about his
personal life is  known. During his lifetime he is believed to
have written approximately 9 books, including such famous
works as The Manteq Al-Tayr (The Conference of the
Birds)   and The Ilahi-Nama (The book of God) Tadhkiratal-
Auliya (Muslim Saints and Mystics) is considered world famous
classical book of Persian literature which printed and re-Printed
in many countries.

 An abridgment, translated by A.J. Arberry, of Attar's only


known prose work Tadhkirat Al-Auliya (The Memorial of the
Saints) which he worked on throughout much of his life and
which was available publicly before his death. Arberry's
translation is an abridgment. The entry on Owaise of Qarani
translated by me which was omitted in Arberry's text is added
to the above web site. In Tadhkiratal-Auliya Sheikh Farid-Al-Din
Attar wrote many chapters and in those chapters, there is full
information and details of the titles are available. His style of
writing is most interesting and for this reason, the readers will
remember the chapters from the above great book for a longer
time.
Due to many great chapters, this book is very famous
in   the world and its translations are available in many

publication note about the entry on Owasie of Qarni. Muslim
Saints and Mystics is an abridgment, translated by A.J. Arberry,
of Attar's only known prose work: Tadhkirat al-Auliya (The

what is considered the most compelling entry in this book,
Attar relates the story of the  execution of Hallaj, the mystic

1.The Taj Mahal


 
 
In the darkness of night
 I visited the tomb of white
 Full beautiful in the glorious moonlight
 Shah Jahan’s love and Mumtaz’s beauty
 Making fun of today’s love and poverty
 No-one leaves without feelings of beauty
 After seeing the Taj Mahal’s majesty
 The Taj was reminding me of the duty of love
 And showing the king’s power of love
 Even today in the darkness of strife
 The Taj is preaching a lesson of love and life.

2. In Thy memory


 
 
Her death day came with the fragrance of the memories
 Which shaken the depth of our the saddest memories
 Even the seasonal changes and otherworldly affairs
 Could not diminish away her saddest loving memories
 Due to the saddest grief, our souls are broken
 We are worldly losers and our hearts are broken
 Oh: her saddest old memories you must not die
 Guide us to cover the deliverances of the world
 Oh: the heavenly Lord takes Thou care of this soul
 Who never faced any worldly peace and pleasure.

3.The Dim flame


 
 
When the flame of her life was going to dim
 No one of us not there to say goodbye
 It is how painful for our whole lives
 That we cannot see her at death time
 Death is sure for every human beings
 But how her strange death was true?
 Her loving relatives were far from her
 And they cannot reach for the last visit
 We should believe in the heavenly Lord

 Who made our vast and great human land


 Sure, she has gained a position in the grave land
 So, We should not worry Allah is great and known.

The author wept very much at the Kazipet graveyard
 
  The author upon his return from his service of the foreign
country visited Kazipet after a gap of many years the grave of
his grandfather and grandmother at Kazipet recently in the
month of May 2014.
  When he visited the grave of his grandfather, which is
under a big Neem tree and its shed is spread over large areas of
the graveyard and my grandmother’s grave is situated beside
the grave of my grandfather. Both graves are well maintained
so they are available in good condition.
As both graves are under the big old Neem tree so there is
too much shade, as well as so much cold and peaceful
atmosphere and comfort, is available there. So an atmosphere
of peace and comfort is   available there too much due to the
coolness of the branches of Neem tree which is prevailing in the
graveyard. For this reason, an atmosphere of coolness and
peace condition is there   and due to this reason, there will be
thinking arise in the mind of the author that both of them living
in a peaceful condition.

       However, the author wept too much there because his


grandfather who was administrator of the shrine of Kazipet for
many years and his grandmother who lived in Kazipet village for
many years and she did many endeavors there and she helped
many needy women and children there so now both of them
are buried in the graveyard of Kazipet shrine and nobody is not
there in the village to visit them from their lineage but many
unknown visitors are visiting their graves there and the author
have personally seen many flowers on the graves which were
placed by those unknown persons.

The connection of the author’s family members with Kazipet

 When my granddad Sheikh Dadan reached Kazipet on his


transfer from another place and he was attracted by the
teachings of Sufi Center at Kazipet during the period of Hazrat
Syed Shah Sarwar Biabani Radi Allahu Anhu the successor and
son of great Sufi master Hazrat Syed Shah Afzal Biabani Radi
Allahu Anhu. When my granddad became his disciple and he
left immediately the following things.
 1 .He left his superior job in the police department. 2. He
left his native place of Medak. 3. He left his big house in Medak.
 Due to the kindness and favour of Hazrat Syed Shah
Ghulam Biabani Radi Allahu Anhu my granddad had got the job
of estate administrator of Dargah Sharif and a plot of land of
1000 yards from the center of Kazipet village. On this plot, my
granddad had constructed a big house (Gulshan Manzil) on 500
yards and one big garden on 500 yards.

My name is Mohammed Abdul Hafeez and I have graduated in
commerce from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. I am a
Translator of Islamic books and interested in Sufi books and
have translated 58 chapters from the famous Sufi book
‘Tadkiratal Awliya’ by Farid El din Attar in the year 2009 from
Urdu to English and some chapters of the book were published
on the below web site and due to kind grace and help of Allah
there is good response from its readers in large numbers on so
many web sites. 
  The book ‘Muslims Saints and Mystics’ was already published
by A. S. Noordeen Malaysia and in this book available 55
episodes in the year 2013 and another book Muslims Saints and
Mystics also published by Kindle, Amazon U. S. A., and in this
book lengthy three episodes are available in the year 2014.
 I am a retired secretary and worked in a Gulf country in
Saud
Arabia for many years and have one son and his name is
Mohammed Abdul Wasi Rabbani, who was studying in St.
Dominic's school Salimnagar colony Hyderabad and at K.B.N.
Engineering college Gulberga and he is an IT Engineer and
working abroad. We are having four little grandchildren and
their names are as follows and among them, Shehzan is very
smart boy and my wife’s name is Ather Fatima and my daughter
in law’s name is Juhi Yasmeen and she was educated in St.
Dominic's school Salimnagar colony Hyderabad, Vani Girls

College and Madina Girls college as an extra-ordinary and


brilliant student of these educational institutions.1.

  I enjoy doing the translation of Sufi works and my translated
first episode is available with the following publication note of
Mr. David Rosenbaum of the New York Times which is available
on the above mentioned famous U.S.A. website.
    At Kazipet Jagir my dad, Mohammed Afzal and my brother
Mohammed Abdus Samad and Me Mohammed Abdul Hafeez
and my sister Meher Unisa were born there. In Qazipet my
father married to Akthar Begum, daughter of Mr. Abdul Majeed
of 
  Bidar district who was working at that time in the education
department as an education officer. After many years of service
at Qazipet Dargah Sharif (shrine) with great fame and good
name, my granddad passed away and upon his death, our big
house was deserted as all members of our family migrated to
Hyderabad and some other places, but my grand mom stayed
in the big lonely house with her maidservant as she never
thinks to leave the place of his great Sufi master. Upon living
many years there she had been shifted to Hyderabad when she
became ill due to the fracture of her foot, but due to her great
love for the great Sufi Center at Kazipet upon her death, we had
taken her dead body to Kazipet from Hyderabad and she was
buried at the backside of the tomb of her Murshid (spiritual
master) Syed Shah Sarwar Biabani. (R. A.) 
      During 1986 I had tried my best to re-settle my family
members from Hyderabad to Kazipet Jagir but I was not

successful in this matter as my son's (Mohammed Abdul Wasi


Rabbani) application for admission in St. Gabriel School Fatima
Nagar was not accepted there due to late submission. We are
staying in Hyderabad with our family members, but we never
miss any chance to visit the holy shrine of Hazrat Syed Shah
Afzal Biabani R. A. And Hazrat Syed Shah Sarwar Biabani R.A. At
Kazipet Jagir on regular basis.

An event of the theft during the service of a period of my
grandfather at Kazipet shrine
 
     During the period of Syed Shah Ghulam Afzal Biyabani, this
event was happening. At that time there was a grant of Rupees
fifty towards the salaries of the staff of Noban Khana (the place
from where time is announced by the beat of the drum) in
which there were some staff members used to work there and
it was headed by the supervisor. By the government of
H.E.H.The Nizam of Hyderabad, there was every month the
royal grant which was used to reach the custodian of the
Qazipet shrine through the supervisor from the government
treasury. From there it will reach the administrator of the
estate and who will be used to distribute the amount of salaries
to all concerned staff.
     As per reference by Tufazal Hussain advocate that one
month the supervisor of Nobat Khana who was obtained the
amount of Rupees fifty towards the salaries from the Royal
treasury office and he was fled to Hyderabad. But in the shrine
building, the staff members were waiting for him to receive
their salaries from him and but at last, they were able to know

that the supervisor was fled from Qazipet and he was reached
to Hyderabad.
       At that time the custodian of the shrine of Kazipet was in
Hyderabad. So the estate administrator Sheikh Dadan, who was
grandfather of the translator of this book was informed the
details of this case to Tufazal Hussain advocate and this event
was mentioned by Syed Khaja Sadat Hussain Biyabani in his
Urdu book ‘Lemat Biyabani’ (This book was already translated
by me with the title of Biography of Hazrat Syed Shah Ghulam
Afzal Biabani and has been posted by in the paperback and
electronic book formats on amazon.com) and he was
mentioned the details of this event on the pages 110-111 of his
book and he was requested to take action against the
supervisor of the police department. In his reply, Tufazal
Hussain advocate wrote him that as the custodian of the shrine
is present in Hyderabad and if we start action against him, so
due to kindness if the culprit will be forgiven by him then it will
be not proper in this matter to initiate the case against him. So
it is better to take the approval of the action from the custodian
of the shrine first so that it is proper to take further action in
this matter. 
     It was learned by me that the estate administrator Sheikh
Dadan was sent the letters by post to Hyderabad for the kind
perusal of the shrine custodian there. 
 The estate administrator Sheikh Dadan who is the grandfather
of this translator and whose memory this event was specially
translated from the following book for the information of the
readers of the International Internet Libraries in the U.S.A.

especially for the readers of these two websites as


follows. www.calmeo.com and www.scribd.com 
     Upon this, it has happened that supervisor of Nobat Khana
after spending of the amount was reached to see the custodian
and he told him all details in this matter and he requested him
to forgive his mistake and he made loud and cry in this matter
and he requested him to allow him to join back in his post.
 It was learned later that the custodian of the shrine was kept
the supervisor at his residence in Hyderabad for a period of
three days. During that period the letters of the Estate
Administrator and the advocate was reaching for him. Upon
this, he was given the travel expenses from Hyderabad to
Kazipet to the supervisor of the Nobat Khana and was sent him
from Hyderabad to Kazipet and he was given the instruction to
the estate administrator which is as follows.
 “ That the supervisor was presented in his service and he
ashamed of his bad deed so he was forgiven his mistake in this
matter. So you also forgive him and allow him to join on his
duty. Otherwise, he is a poor person having small children with
him so they will become economically poor and will be
destroyed in this matter. Arrange the salary of Nobat Khana
staff members from another fund.”
 So after some days, the supervisor was coming back to
Qazipet from Hyderabad and he was allowed to join in his post
as per order the custodian of the shrine of Kazipet and the staff
members of the Nobat Khana was paid their salaries from the
other fund by the administrator of the estate. (Reference from

graves and for which I could not forget this favour and
attention so I will pray for them in this matter to extend my

contribution Indeed, it is a nice English Translation and will help
us to share with English speaking people. There are certain
places need to be updated in your translation. May Allah SWT
bless you with the spiritual support of Hadrat Syed Jalaluddin
Jamalul Bahar Mashooq Rabbani.
I believe we should enhance the compilation done by
Hazrath Syed Aulia Quadri RA around some 55 years ago-- there
are other historical books (should be available in A.P.
Archaeology and State Central Library and other libraries. I
know some books such as Mishkat un Nubuwwah by Hazarath
Syed Ghulam Ali Shah R.A., Mahboob-Zil-Menon - Tadkiray
Aulia Deccan page 248 and Tawariqul Auliya second part page
528.
Insha Allah, Ali pasha will gather the information on Hadrat

 Preface
 
In this book translation of biographical details of the Urdu
edition of the book, Tazkira Mashaikh-e-Bihar is added by me
upon its translation into the English edition and this book is well
known and famous book which is written by Mohammed
Tayyeb Abdali and who wrote this book in the Urdu language
and which was translated into English language by me.
    These details have been translated by me into the English
language from the above old book of the Urdu language and in
which there are available some great achievements, as well as
the commands and teaching of the students of the mystic way
by Muslim saints of Banaras in the area of the Bihar and which
are not yet known to the general and special persons, are
added in this book and which are available in a very interesting
style so for this reason, the readers will find great interest and
attention in this matter. And for the above Urdu’s book is given
title is given as  Tazkira-Bihar and the same title“ Takira
Mashaikh-e- Bihar” I have given the same above title for my
translated book’s English edition.

    Due to the above facts and details, if the readers will start
reading its first page of the book and will not stop reading till
they will reach this book’s last page as some interesting events
and as well as other great miracles and endeavours of Muslim
saints of Bihar is added in this book and these holy saints who
were passed away from the world many centuries and years
ago.
Even though this is a small book, but due to its importance, it is
so great due to the coverage of many interesting events and
positive information so it is like an ocean of knowledge and
information of Tazkira Mashaikh-e-Bihar  who was passed away
from the world upon doing his great endeavours and many
hard tasks for the teaching and propagation of the Islamic
religion and the work of Islam and which they have done in the
area of Banaras so this book is a great book and it will present
the ocean of knowledge for the guidance of people towards the
right path of the Islam.
 
       To write about these great saints and great spiritual
masters is not only it is difficult and but it is a very hard task.
In Tazkira Mashaikh-e-Bihar in which there  were not only
added biographies of great pious personalities of their time in
the area of Bihar and who was also a great and famous spiritual
master so, in brief, they were great holy persons of Allah of
their time in the Bihar region.
   For a long time, they were engaged in religious discourses,
sermons, and spiritual training of the people and they did also
many great endeavours for the preaching and propagation

work of Islam in Banaras and around this region and also there
was no such personality during his time in the world.
 
    As this book of the biographies of the holy saints is very short
in length so for this reason, the translator’s biography is added
as per the requirement of the length of pages of the book.
 
 
   
         

 Tazkira Mashaikh-e-Bihar
 
          
                                       1. Hazrat Momin Arif
 
He was entered into the Bihar Province as a person of the
advance guard of Islamic caravan and he was settled down in
the famous and well known Munir village. He was entered in
Bihar for the following reasons which are not confirmed in this
matter
    That whether he has come into Bihar for the preaching and
propagation of Islamic religion mission work or commercial
purpose, or whether he was representative of the sultan of the
time to collect the Jizya (Jizya was a tax levied by the Muslim
rulers on Hindu residents of the territory in return for their
protection in India) tax, but the above details were not

confirmed in this matter. But it is said locally that one Muslim


holy person is known as Hazrat Momin Arif with the passion of
the preaching and propagation of Islamic religion while visiting
the country of India while wandering here and there, then he
came to Bihar and he has selected Munir village in Bihar
province as place of preaching and propagation of Islamic
religion mission work and he started his work as per reference
from book  Jada Arfan on page number 161 and details are as
follows.
 “ Mr. Najamal Hasan, who has mentioned in his compiled book
known as Asharaf Arabi that “He was Yemeni trader and who
was dealing in the trading of the clothes and he was also a
weaver of the clothes. And as well as he will engage in the work
of preaching and propagation of Islam. But for the above
writing, Mr. Najam al al-Hasan has not mentioned its reference
in his above book for the above matter.”
  In Munir Sharif in the library there is available one manuscript
and in which it is mentioned that “Momin Arif perhaps who was
come to the Munir village for Jazia tax collection work of the
Sultan Mahmood Ghazni. ” At the ruling time of the Sultan
Shahabuddin Ghouri, the family of the Ghazni was destroyed
and was no more lived there. Like the King of Nagarkot, the
Raja of the Munir was also revolted against the Islamic rule of
the Sultan Mahmood Ghazni. And the Raja of Munir, who could
not kill Momin Arif as per the practice of the rulers. But he
wanted that he should leave from his limit of his kingdom. By
that time no Muslim Sultan did not come in the eastern part of
India. Momin Arif has not a supporter of him at that time. So
for this reason, in the condition of uncontrolled, he began

complaining in the court of the prophet of Allah. (Reference

    Hazrat Syed Shah Farzan Ali Sufi Muniri in his book ‘Wasila
Sharaf wa Zariah Doulat’ in which he was mentioned about the
details of the personality of Momin Arif that “ There was one
Raja in Munir area and who was very strict in following his
religion as well as he was very cruel. His ruling area was very
large. In his kingdom area, there was the only house in which
one Muslim person who used to reside in it. And his name was
Momin Arif. His grave is also available in Munir. He was a
person of perfection as well as a man of miracles. The Raja used
to harm him and do cruelties of many of the kinds upon him
and he wants that he should leave from the limits of his
kingdom. And he was such a holy person who used to go
Makkah on a daily basis and perform five congregation prayers
in Makkah there. When cruelties very exceeded very much then
he has gone to Madina and he has lodged a complaint about
Raja of Munir at the mausoleum of the last prophet of Allah
there. So on that night, Imam Mohammed Fakhi who used to
live in Qudus Khalil locality in Jerusalem and who was seen the
prophet in his dream and he was given an order of Islamic Jihad
(a holy war undertaken as a sacred duty by Muslims.).Hazrat
Sufi Muniri who have mentioned above tradition, but he did not
cite any reference in this matter. But it is manifest that he was
received this tradition from his ancestors by chest by the chest.
His careful style of writing the reference shows that Hazrat Sufi
Munir who was deleted un-necessary things, but he has
mentioned the things which are sure and right in this matter.

    In short Hazrat Momin Arif who was the first Muslim holy
person of miracles who was arriving in the Munir village in
Bihar before the year 756 Hegira. When he did come and what
purpose he has with him and which is not known surely. So in
this matter due to the upset-ness of the harm and cruelty of the
Raja of Munir kingdom, so for this reason, he went to Madina
and in the court of the prophet he has filed his complaint there.
Then the prophet has helped him immediately. So at that night
time Imam Mohammed Fakhi who used to live in Qudus Khalil
locality in Jerusalem and who was seen the prophet in his
dream and was given an order of Islamic Jihad (a holy war
undertaken as a sacred duty by Muslims.). The event after this
which was known that as per the order of the prophet, Hazrat
Momin Arif who was left Madina and he was reached to Bihar.
And then there was the battle with the Raja of Munir which was
happening. And Munir was conquered and in this way, the door
was opened for the Muslim into the Bihar province. From this
viewpoint, the personality of Hazrat Momin Arif is very
important. And due to this reason the Muslim people who were
possible to enter into the Bihar province. There was the light of
the Islamic religion which was lighted in the atmosphere of the
infidels' place in Bihar province.
      There will be the mercy of upon him and to all others who
have entered into Bihar Province after him.

                       2. Hazrat Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi

His name is Mohammed and his title is well known as Taj Fakih.
In the olden day, Faqir is called for the learned person of the

Islamic religion. With his name there is title is also added so, for
this reason, it is known that he was a great learned person of
the Islamic religion of his time. But his position is a signified
among the learned person. Regarding title Taj, there is a
tradition which is available as per holy persons of the lineage of
the Muniri chain. When he has seen the holy prophet in his
dream and who has given him the order of Jihad  (a holy war
undertaken as a sacred duty by Muslims.) and as well it is said
that the prophet by giving him the order of Jihad and he was
put the crown on his head. And upon his wake up he found the
crown on his head. That crown which his still safe in the shrine
building of Munira. On the 12th Rabbil Awwal, this crown will
be shown to the visitors of the shrine.
His native place is the locality of Quddus Khalil in Jerusalem.
And nowadays this locality has become a permanent city and it
is away from Jerusalem at a distance of 15-16 miles. And it is
known as Al-Khalil. And it is said that there is situated the grave
of Prophet Ibrahim in this city. And due to connection this city
is called and well known and as well as famous as Al-Khalil.
The lineage and genealogical record :His lineage and the
genealogical record is called Hashmi. Hazrat Sufi Munir in his
book which he was compiled and well known as Wasila Sharaf
Wa Zarya Doulat in which while mentioning of Hazrat Maqdum
Jehan Shaikh Sharafuddin Ahmed Yahaiah Muniri’s genealogical
link he was mentioned his lineage and genealogy details as
follows.
“Hazrat Imam Mohammed Taj Fakih Bin Moulana Abu Baker
Abu Fatah Bin Abul Qasim Bin Abul Asim Bin Dahar Bin Abu Lais

Bin Abu Samah Bin Abu Din Bin Abu Masud Bin Abu Zar Bin
Abdul Mutablab Bin Hashim Bin Abd Munaf.”
Conquest of the Munir :In short Hazrat Momin Arif who was
the first Muslim holy person of miracles who was arrived in
Munir village in Bihar Province before the year 756 Hegira.
When he did come and what purpose he has with him and
which is not known surely. So in this matter due to the
upsetness of the harm and cruelty of the Raja of Munir
Kingdom so he went to Madina and in the court of the prophet
he has filed a complaint there. Then the prophet has helped
him immediately. So at that night Imam Mohammed Fakhi who
used to live in Qudus Khalil locality in Jerusalem and who was
seen the prophet in his dream and he was given him the order
of Islamic Jihad (a holy war undertaken as a sacred duty by
Muslims.) So for this reason above the holy person without
wasting any time he has reached to Munir. To fulfill the order of
the prophet for Jihad against Raja of the Munir and with him, a
large number of Muslims were gathered for this reason. The
prophet was also given the order to the Muslim rulers to help
the above name holy person. So, for this reason, they have sent
their army personnel and their relatives in this matter. As per
the writing of Syed Shah Farzand Ali Sufi Muniri in his
book Wasil Sharaf Wa Zariya Doulat which is as follows.   
That Tajuddin Khandga and Mir Ali Turk, Larabak who were
among the princes and who were martyred and Mir Syed Jafar
and Mir Syed Muzafar who were among chief persons and chief
of the army staff who was Qutub Salar Almadar Rabbani. And
whose tomb is situated in Mehendvan. When the Islamic army
was reached to that country of Munir. And when there was

Islamic Jihad started, and when the Muslim soldiers who were
reached near the victory than at that time from the place of the
Munir then Raja of that place was fled away from there along
with family members to some unknown place. Then his news
was not heard afterward. Some persons who have said that on
the way he was killed by the Islamic army. In short Islamic army
was reached to Munir by victory and they have fixed the Islamic
flag in the land of Munir first time. In Rawaq's place, there is a
curve of the stone that is there. And it is called Takiya there.
Imam Mohammed Taj who used to be sitting there by the
support of pillow at that place which is mentioned above and
he has washed his sword there. In the big shrine in which there
is situated grave of the Hazrat Maqdum Shah Yahiah Muniri at
this place and there was the place of worship in the previous
time. And Muslim soldiers have broken the idols there. And on
its door, there is a picture and which was broken by the Islamic
army and left there a sign of Jihad. The date of conquest is
known as 776 Hegira year. 
  The list of martyrs is as follows and which are written in the
book  Kursinama which are as follows.    
Alwai Shahid, Mir Syed Ali Turk, Alrabak Shahid, Taj Shahid,
Masum Shahid, Chandan Shahid, Junaid Shahid, Ishaq Shahid,
Yakub Shahid, Yousuf Shahid, Pahlu Shahid, Sufi Shahid, Shah
Abdul Ghani Shahid, Shah Abdul Subhan, Qubul Shahid, Dost
Mohammed Shahid, Alauddin Shahid, Syed Jalal Shahid, Shiru
Shahid, Syed Roshan Ali Shahid, Shah Ghulam Hussain Shahid,
Mustafa Khan Shahid, Yousuf Baig Shahid, Shaikh Asim Shahid,
Dawud Shahid.

    In short the heart of Hazrat Imam Tajuddin Fakhi which was
in the uneasiness condition in the land of infidels and after
conquering Bihar and while leaving his 3 sons in Bihar he was
left for his native place for this reason. There were his 3 sons
are as follows.
1.Maqdum Shah Israel 2. Magdum Shah Ismail 3. Maqdum Shah
Abdul Aziz. 
    Some person says Maqdum Shah Muniri was born in his
native place. And he has arrived in India along with his
ancestors. Maqdum Shah Rukanuddin Margalani who is the
teacher of Shah Maqdum Yahiah Munir. Who came along with
him to India. In one magazine one holy person has written
about the condition of the Maqdum Shah Shoeb as follows.
“ Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi who as per the order of the holy
prophet who came from locality of Qudus Khalil in Jerusalem
and who has arrived in Munir Sharif and he was preached and
propagated Islamic religion there. Regarding his gentleness,
lineage and genealogical record as well as the perfection of his
endeavours for which it is difficult to describe in this matter.In
all Bihar and in and around it which is full of his sons who were
persons of saintliness. He has brought his three sons along with
him and he has left them in Bihar in his place and divided the
country among his sons and which as follows.
1.Sarkar Bihar area to Maqdum Shaikh Israel 2.Sarkar Turbat
to Shaikh Maqdum Ismail. And he has surrendered Maqdum
Shaikh Abdul Aziz to Maqdum Israel and he was told him that
he is your younger brother and you are in the place of his
father. And Abdul Aziz is a partner in your share. He was
accepted him in a substitute of his life and he has said to them

that you all live in India and engage in the work of the
preaching and propagation of Islamic religion. And show
mankind the path of good deeds. I am proceeding to Madina to
the exalted shrine there. ( Reference from book Wasil Sharaf
Wa Zariya Doulat compiled by Hazrat Farzand Ali Shah Sufi
Muniri page number 75 to page number 77).
  From the above writings, it is known that Imam Tajuddin
Fakhi upon defeating by the Raja in the battle in Munir and
then he was divided the country among his sons. And also he
has advised them for the teaching and propagation of the
Islamic mission work and he himself was returned back from
India to his native place. In the book Wasil Sharaf Wa Zariya
Doulat it is written ahead that during the time of Maqdum Shah
Yahiah Muniri Bin Hazrat Maqdum Shah Israel that when Sultan
Ektiaruddin Mohammed Bin Bakhtiar Khilji (and the sultan who
was conquerer and Islamic solder) and who has attacked Bihar
in the year 595 Hegira year so then he has given him all political
control of the country into his hands.
Children: Hazrat Tajuddin Fakhi who has three sons with him.
1.Maqdum Shah Isreal and who was his elder son and his elder
son is Hazrat Yahiah Munari. The mausoleum of Hazrat Shah
Isreal is situated in a big shrine building in Munir at the right
side after two graves of Maqdum Yahiah Muniri’s grave.
2. Hazrat Shah Maqdum Ismail is his second son and his son’s
name is Salahuddin. And from his sons Hazrat Qazan Shattari
who was a well known holy person of the Shattari chain.
3. Hazrat Shah Abdul Aziz is the third son and his sons are
Maqdum Jalal Muniri and Sulaiman Lanagar Zamin. And his
tomb is situated at the side of Shah Ismail.

Personality :Hazrat Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi who was a


great learned person and who was an Islamic solder as well.
The conquest of Munir is a great achievement of his great
struggle of a holy war undertaken as a sacred duty by him is its
proof in this matter. He has performed the duty of the
propagation of Islamic religion on the wide range and scale.
May shower Allah's mercy on him and his sons.               

3. Hazrat Maqdum Shah Rukanuddin Mirgalani

Name: Rukanuddin
Native place: Margalan this place is situated probable
surrounding areas of Jerusalem.
Arrival in Bihar: With the passion of Jihad (a holy war
undertaken as a sacred duty by Muslims.) he has accompanied
Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi and was participated warmly in the
Jehad of 576 Hegira and due to this reason Munir kingdom of
the Raja was conquered. He was settled down along Maqudm
Israel, Maqdum Ismail, Maqdum Abdul Aziz who were sons of
Imam Mohamed Taj Fakhi in Bihar on a permanent basis. His
tomb is well known and famous in Munir and is visited by a
large number of persons.
Status of his knowledge :He was a great learned person of
intellectual and traditional knowledge. As well as a great
learned person of the Islamic religion. And due to his holiness
and erudition (the quality of having or showing great
knowledge) of knowledge Hazrat Maqdum Shah Israel who has
kept his son Maqdum Ahmed Yahiah Muniry under his teaching

and training. Hazrat Margalani who was a great learned person


and number one personality among all other learned persons
and who were entered in Bihar. Almost his other details are
hidden and only some details which are known in this matter
and which are added in this book.

4. Hazrat Qazi Shaikh Shahabuddin Pir Jagjut

Name and title: Shabuddin and title Pir Jagjuat


Native place: Kashgar and once this city was the well known
and famous city of central Asia.
Date of birth : His blessed birth which happened in the year
570 Hegira year in the city of Kashgar.
The lineage and genealogy record : Hazrat Qazi Shabuddin Pir
Jagjut Bin Sultan Syed Mohammed Taj Bin Sultan Syed Ahmed
bin Sultan Syed Nasir Bin Sultan Syed Yousuf Bin Syed Hasan Bin
Syed Qasim Bin Syed Mohammed Musa Bin Syed Hamza Bin
Syed Dawud Bin Syed Rukanuddin Bin Syed Qutubuddin Bin
Syed Ishaq Bin Syed Ismail Bin Imam Jafer Sadiq Bin Imam
Mohammed Baquer Bin Imam Zainal Abidin Bin Imam Hussain
Bin Fatima Bint Prophet Mohammed.
Arrival in Bihar : Around the year 600 Hegira, he arrived in
Bihar. And he was settled down in Alampur Jeotali village which
is 8 miles away from Patna. In many biographical books with his
name as Qazi is added and from which it is known that when
Sultan Ektiaruddin Mohammed Bin Bakhtiar Khilji who has
conquered the Bihar in the year 595 Hegira then at that time he
must have required the services of the Qazi (judge) for the
settlement of the dealings of the kingdom. So, for this reason,

he has given him an invitation. Because he has gone to Bihar as


Qazi of Bihar.
Excellence and perfection  : It is said that he has devotion as
well as caliphate from Shaikh of Shaikh's person Hazrat Shaikh
Shihabuddin Suherwardi. And to him from Khaja Abu
Najibuddin Suherwardi, and from to Hazrat Khaja Abu Hafaz
Umar Wajihuddin, and in the State of Bihar he was the first holy
person from Suharwardi chain. And from him, there was done
hard tasks and great endeavours for the following. 
1.Work of the right path and guidance 2. Teaching and
propagation of the knowledge of Sufism on a wide-scale and as
well higher grade level.
He used to keep many of the Tai fastings. And he used to
behave with mankind with love and with good manners. His
house which will be used to open to all religious persons
without any discrimination in this matter and one who went on
the door of his house which could not without any favour and
attention in this matter.
Teaching :Helplessness and sincerity and following of the
Islamic law which are fundamental and important points of his
teaching. He has said that “One who follows the Islamic law
then he will get the destination of the mystic way of life. And
who will pass the way with mystic initiation easily in this
matter.
Children :Bihar’s Sufi family Shaikh Shabuddin who belongs to
the family Pir Jagjut and Hazrat has four daughters with him.
And all were perfect holy women.
1.Elder daughter Bibi Razia known as Badi Buwwa and who
married with grandson of the Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi,

Hazrat Maqdum Ahmed Yahiah Muniri Bin Shah Israel. And


from her, there were born four daughters and one son. And
holy person Firdouse Hazrat Maqdum Jehan Shaikh Sharafuddin
Ahmed Yahiah Muniri who was his younger son.
2. Second daughter Hazrat Bibi Habiba who was married to
Hazrat Maqdum Musa Hamdani and from him a famous holy
person of the chain of Suherwardi holy person Hazrat Maqdum
Ahmed Charmposh was born.
3. With third daughter Bi Bi Hadiya known as Bi Bi kamal and
who was married with the grandson of Hazrat Imam
Mohammed Taj Fakhi, Hazrat Sulaiman Langar Zamin Bin Abdul
Aziz. And there was born one boy Maqdum Ata Allah and one
daughter Bi Bi Kamal with the same name as her mother and
well known as Doulat Bi Bi and from her well known and
famous holy person of Suherwardi chain, Hazrat Hussain
Dhakar Posh was born by her.
4. Fourth daughter Hazrat Bibi Jamal and who was married to
Hazrat Maqdum Adam Sufi and who disciple and caliph of
Hazrat Farid Shaker Gunj and son of the Shaikh Hameeduddin
custodian Pakki Daragh (shrine building) of Jeo Thali and from
her Hazrat Maqdum Yatim Sufid Baz was born.
Death :He died on 21 Zeqada in the year 666 Hegira and he was
buried in Azampur Jeo Thali and his tomb which is not
permanent and which is situated at the bank of river Ganga.
And which is well known as Kacchi Dargah (shrine building) for
this reason.

Arrival in Bihar :His ancestor Hazrat Syed Jalal Chisti who was
disciple and caliph of Hazrat Khaja Haruni and who was a
resident of Mashad. As per the order of his spiritual master he
has arrived in Lahore. And his son Syed Ibrahim Chisti who has
arrived in Hajipur village in Bihar from Lahore. It means he was
settled down at the place where now Hajipur village is
habituated there. And his son Hazrat Adam Sufi who has arrived
in village Allampur Jeo Thali and he was settled down there.
Pledge and command work :Hazrat Adam Sufi who has
pledged on the hands of his father. And who has a pledge on
his father Hazrat Syed Jalaluddin Chisti. And to him from Hazrat
Usman Haruni as per reference of the book Ayan
Watan compiled by Hakim Syed Mohammed Shoeb Phulwari
Sharif. But the holy person of the shrine of the Rashida of
Jaunpur of the 5th century Hazrat Ghulam Arshad Jaunpuri who
has written in sayings in the handwritten book Ganj Fiyazi that

he is disciple and caliphate of Hazrat Baba Farid Shaker Ganj.


And according to this the details of his chain of devotion is as
follows.
Hazrat Adam Sufi,Hazrat Baba Farid Shaker Ganj,Hazrat
Bakhtiar Kaki,Hazrat Khaja Moinuddin Chisti.
In short, he was a pioneer holy person of the Chistiya chain in
Bihar. And he also has obtained favour from Hazrat Shaikh
Shubauddin Pir Jagjut.
Caliph: Maqdum Shah Hameeduddin
Children: Maqdum Shah Hameeduddin
Death and burial place: At the age of 113 years in the year 697
Hegira and he was buried in Jeo Thali village. And the tomb is
well known as Pakki Dargah. His tomb in Jeo Thali which is
famous even today for the fulfillment of desires and wishes of
the persons who visit his tomb.

6. Hazrat Maqdum Yahiah Muniri

Name: Yahaiah
Native place: He was born in the locality of Qudus Khalil in
Jerusalem. In his childhood, he came from Jerusalem along with
his father and with ancestors to Bihar. And under the
guardianship of his father, he was lived in Munir and he was
settled down in Munir on a permanent basis so for this reason
word Muniri is attached with his name.
Arrival in Bihar : Hazrat Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi who was
arrived in Bihar by way of a holy war undertaken as a sacred

duty by Muslims and in the year 576 Hegira and he was


conquered Munir area. And along with him his three sons and
one grandson Yahiah were also with him. Hazrat Syed Shah son
of Ali Muniri in his compiled book ‘Wasila Sharaf Wa Zariya
Doulat’s on page number 76 it is mentioned that “Some
persons who say that Hazrat Maqdum Shah Yahiah Muniri who
was born in his native place. He was coming along with his
ancestor.”
The lineage and genealogy record :   He belongs to the lineage
and genealogy record of Hashmi and the details are as follows.
Hazrat Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi
Hazrat Israel (elder son of Hazrat Imam Taj Fakhi
Yahiah Muniri
Education and training: He has opened his eyes in the lap of
the Muslim Islamic preachers and Muslim soldiers as well as he
was brought up in the plain of the Jihad and under the shadow
of the swords. Hazrat Maqdum who was a person of
the erudition (the quality of having or showing great
knowledge) and learned person such as Shah Rukanuddin
Margalani with his help he has passed away the educational
process at his hands. And with his father Hazrat Israel, he has
learned the rules and regulations of life and living. In this way
Hazrat Maqdum Yahiah Muniri who was becoming the able
successor of his father.
Soveregnity: Hazrat Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi who was
conquered Muniri and after that, he has divided the country.
And the area of Sarkar Bihar which was given by him to his
elder son Hazrat Israel. And after him, this area came under the
rule of Hazrat Maqdum Yahiah Munari. In the year 595 Hegira

when Ektair Uddin Mohammed Bin Bakhtiar Khilji was attacked


on Bihar then by utilizing the situation Hazrat has handed over
the kingdom to him as offering to him and he was himself
began engaging in the worship of Allah. And he was busy on the
right path and guidance.
Showing the right path and guidance :   In the book Akhbar
Asfia Ahwal Auliya by Abdul Samad Bin Afzali Mohammed Bin
Yousuf Ansari, which is a handwritten Persian book written in
the year 1800 and deposited in the Oriental library Patna and
on its page number 34 the details of his migration from his
native place to India are found.  In the books Tazkira Alkaram,
Marital Konin in which it was written that he was  a disciple and
caliphate of Hazrat Shaikh Shahab Uddin Suharwardi. Hazrat
Sufi Munir in his book Wasila Sharaf Wa  Zariya Doulat he was
written on its page 12 that “Shaikh Yahiah Sharafuddin Muniri
‘s father Moulana Taqiuddin Arabi resident of the area of
Mahsun and who has written books Inteqab Ahya Uloom and
from him he has faith and probable he has devoted to him.”
  From the above references of the books, it is known that
Hazrat Muniri has pledged in the chain of Suherwardia whether
it was directly in the hands of Shaikh Suhabuddin Suherwardi or
in the hands of Hazrat Taqiuddin Mahsavi so it is not confirmed
in this matter and he was the second holy person in the 
Suherwardia chain in Bihar area. And the first holy person who
was Shaikh Shubuddin Pir Jagjut who was his father in law. And
for the right path and guidance, he has established one shrine
building in Munir. Hazrat Sufi Munir in his book Wasila
Sharaf  Wa Zaray Doulat  was mentioned that “ The king who

was good and who was granted for expenses of the shrine
building and etc., and he was allotted some villages.”
  There was so much development of the chain of Suherwardia
in the Bihar and due to his endeavours, many of the persons
who were not on the right path and due to his source who were
enabled to get the destination in this matter.
Caliphs :Hazrat Maqdum Jalaluddin Ahmed, who was his elder
son and who got caliphate from his father Hazrat
Maqdum Yahiah Munari.
Marriage and children: He was married to the elder daughter
of Azeemabad’s old holy person Hazrat Qazi Shuabuddin Pir
Jangjut’ and her name was Razia known as Badi Buwwa and
from her body, four sons and one daughter were born and their
details are as follows.
1. First son Maqdum Hazrat Jalaluddin Ahmed, who was the
disciple of Hazrat Najibuddin Firdouse and he was caliphate of
his father.
2. Second son Hazrat Maqdum Jehan Shaikh Sharafuddin
Ahmed and who was a disciple and caliphate of Hazrat
Najibuddin Firdouse.
3. Third son Hazrat Maqdum Khaliluddin Ahmed and who was
the disciple of Hazrat Maqdum Jehan Shaikh Sharafuddin
Ahmed.
4. Fourth son Hazrat Maqudm Habeebuddin Ahmed and who
was the disciple of Hazrat Maqdum Jehan Shaikh Sharafuddin
Ahmed.
5. Daughter Bibi Mah Khatoon and who was the wife
of Mir Shamsuddin Mar Zandani.

Death : He  died on Thursday on 11th Shaban in the year 690


Hegira at the place of Munir. And his tomb is well known and
famous as Badi Dargah. His tomb in Jeo Thali which is famous
even today for the fulfillment of desires and wishes of the
persons who visit his tomb.
Hazrat Sufi Munir has got one page of the damaged book and
from that book, he got one couplet and for which he thought as
a stanza of  the date of the death. So he has kept that couplet
as  the exordium of ode and he has written date of death in
Persian and its one couplet is translated and interpreted as
follows.

Condition: He was a resident of the city of Hamdan in Iran. He


belonged to the well to do and a person of the powerful in
Hamdan. Some authors of  the books of the biographies have
written him as ruler of the Hamdan. Then it  happened that as
per the fate he has left his life of wealth and luxury and he has
adopted the life indigence and for the peace of the mind he
was wandered a lot of the places in this matter. At last, he has
reached India. And he has adopted the company of Hazrat
Shahabuddin Pir Jangjut. And then he was settled down in India
on a permanent basis.
Marriage and children: He was married to Bibi Habiba the
daughter of Hazrat Shahabuddin Pir Jangjut and from her body,
there were born three sons.
1.Syed Ahmed 2. Syed Mohammed 3.Syed Mahmud and Syed
Mahmud who was a great holy person in Suherwardi chain and
his title are well known and famous as Charam Posh.
Tomb: His year of death is not known. But it is said that his
tomb is situated in around Bihar’s locality Anbir. His tomb in
Anbir which is famous even today for the fulfillment of desires
and wishes of the persons who visit his tomb.

8. Hazrat Jalal Muniri

Name: Jalal
Native place: Munir well known and famous historic village in
the province of Bihar.
The lineage and genealogy record: He was the son of the
Hazrat Abdul Aziz Bin Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi. And his

complete lineage and genealogical record details are found in


the biography book of Hazrat Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi.
Preaching of Islamic religion: He was a great Islamic soldier and
as well as a great and ranked preacher of the Islamic religion.
He got the passion of the Jihad (a holy war undertaken as a
sacred duty by Muslims.) and preaching of Islamic religion in his
inheritance. The time of Jihad when it was ended so for this
reason under the order of the prophet, he
began endeavour against his soul in his whole life as well as he
was busy in endeavor of the preaching of the Islamic mission
work in India. In  his hands a large number of the people who
have accepted Islamic religion.
Marriage and children: He was married to Bibi Malka Sad who
was the daughter of Hazrat Shaikh Ibrahim bin Shaikh Ismail Bin
Hazrat Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi and from her body, 
the Maqdum Shah Shoeb was born. Some of his holy people 
from maternal side relatives who were residing in Kajanva
village which is near Shaikpura.
Death and burial: He has died when Hazrat Shah Shoeb was
very young. His year of death is 690 Hegira approximately. His
grave is situated in Munir at the western side of the water tank
and which is opposite of Badi Dargah in which the tomb of the
Hazrat Yahaiah Munir is situated there.

9. Hazrat Shaikh Sulaiman Langar Zamin

Name: Sulaiman and title is well known as Langar Zamin


Native place: Munir Sharif in Bihar Province

The Lineage and genealogy record: He belongs to the lineage


of Hazrat Abdul Aziz Bin Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi Bin’s son.
In the episode of Imam Mohammed Taj Fakhi his lineage
and geneaological record details can be found there.
Advice: He was real brother of the Hazrat Jalal Muniri. As per
the family tradition, he was engaged in his whole life for the
advice of mankind. A large number of the people who were
involved in infidelity and polytheism and due to his endeavors
they were finding the right path of the Islamic religion. He has a
fondness for the work of reorganization of God by the mankind
and for this endeavor he could not live in easiness for this
reason in the native place. His wife Bibi Kamal, who also shared
his work with him in this matter. So, for this reason, he was
settled down in Kaku village. And where one magician was
living at that time and his name is Koka and who has made the
life of the people of the village in uneasiness and troublesome
for this reason. It is said that his perfect wife Bibi Kamal in the
condition of rage and by using her innermost qualities has
turned up side down the village. In this usage, there was such
hardness that the land of the area would have been turned
upside and down and it would have been damaged greatly, but
it has not happened in this matter but due to the presence of
Hazrat Sulaiman so which has not happened for this reason. So
for the reason, his title was becoming well known as Langar
(anchor ) Zamin (earth). And the name of the village has
become as Kaku and which is  the inverse of the word form
Kaku to Koka.
Marriage and children: He was married  to the  younger
daughter of Hazrat Qazi Shuhabuddin Peer Jangjut and her

name was Bibi Hadiya known as Bibi Kamal and from her, there
was born one son Ata Allah and one daughter Bibi Doulat was
born. The famous and well known holy person of the
Suherwardia chain Hadrat Hussain Dakadposh who was the son
of Bibi Doulat.
Death and burial: He has died in Kaku and which is famous
even today for the fulfillment of desires and wishes of the
persons who visit his tomb.

10. Hazrat Khaja Ahmed Sistani

Name: Ahmed and his title: Khaja


Native place: Sistan
Conditions: Most of his conditions are kept hidden so for this
reason which was not known. But his saintliness which is known
that Hazrat Maqdum Jehan Shaikh Sharafuddin
Ahmed Yahiah Muniri who used to visit his tomb.It was not
known when he did arrive in the Bihar Province. But it said that
he has arrived after 595 Hegira approximately when Bihar was
completed conquered by the Muslim army. Also, visit of Hazrat
Maqdum Jehan Shaikh Sharafuddin Ahmed Yahiah Muniri
which points out this fact, but he was a holy person which
belongs to the 6-7 century.
Tomb: His tomb is situated in the locality of Kagazi Mahalla in
Bihar Sharif and which is famous even today for the fulfillment
of desires and wishes of the persons who visit his tomb.

11. Hazrat Shaikh Khizer Para Dost

Name: Khizer and his title is Para Dost.


Conditions: Hazrat Shaikh Khizer Para Dost and who was
a disciple and caliphate of Hazrat Baba Farid Shaker Ganj. And
Hazrat has given him instruction to go Bihar and engage in the
righteous and guidance work there. As per the order of his
peer, he was engaged in the work. And he has constructed one
shrine building in Bihar. And this second Chisti shrine building in
Bihar Province. And first shrine building which was constructed
by Hazrat Adam Sufi in Jeo Thalli. There was news of the
construction of the shrine building of Hazrat Shaikh Khizer Para
Dost in Bihar which was reached to Hazrat Khaja Nizamuddin so
for this reason he wants to come to Bihar in the shrine building
to avoid gathering of the devotees in Delhi and want to live in
solitude and teaching and education in Bihar for this work.
When there was a delay, so, for this reason, Hazrat Khizer Para
Dost has informed Hazrat Nizamuddin that the people are
waiting for him there, but he has informed him that the reason
for which I was coming to Bihar but there was the same
condition has prevailed there. So what is the benefit there.?
The memorable thing about this Chisti shrine building in Bihar
Sharif is the Chisti locality there.

12. Hazrat Shaikh Hameed Uddin

Name:   Hameeduddin
Native place: Alampur Jeo Thalli

The lineage and genealogy record: He was the son of Hazrat


Adam Sufi. The complete lineage of the genealogical record is
found in the episode of Hazrat Adam Sufi.
Righteous work and guidance: He was a pledge on the hands of
his father in the chain of the Chistiya. There were no male
children of Hazrat Suhabuddin Jajgut so for this reason he has
fulfilled the responsibility of the shrine building. He has also the
responsibility of the shrine building of his father Hazrat Adam
Sufi. And in this way, he has fulfilled the work of the duties of
both of the shrine buildings together and where he sat and has
done work of righteous work and guidance there and this work
he has done with hard tasks and endeavours and for this there
is its proof is that in Jeo Thalli and around it there are Muslim
habitations are found there and which is famous even today for
the fulfillment of desires and wishes of the persons who visit his
tomb.
Marriage and children: He was married to the  younger
daughter of Hazrat Suhabuddin Jagjut Bibi Jamal and from her
body, Hazrat Yatim Allah Sufed Baz was born and who was a
perfect holy person of his time.

13. Hazrat Syed Ahmed Charm Posh

Name and title: Syed Ahmed's name and his title is well known
and famous as Charm Posh. In the book Monas Quloob at the
meeting 9th and first on page number 463 the following details
are written about him. One time Shaikh Charam Posh and
Shaikh Mahsi both of them went into the presence of Shaikh

Sulaiman and who was given them 8 Chitals (spotted deers) to


both of them so that they can make the dress for them. When
both of them left Shaikh Sulaiman than they thought in their
hearts that with these skins they could not make dresses for
both of them. So Shaikh Hussain has purchased dress
something having a specified number of layers and Shaikh
Ahmed was wearing skin on his body. When they have reached
in the service of Shaikh Sulaiman then he has said that “ This is
sufficient for both of them. And he has congratulated both of
them.” And from that time the title of Charm Posh which was
becoming famous and well known.
Native place: Hamdan city in Iran.
Year of the birth: 657 Hegira
The lineage and genealogy record: Syed Ahmed Charam Posh
Bin Syed Musa Hamadani.
Education and training: His education and training which was
done at his house as per the system of the current syllabus
under the shadows of his parents. His mother Bibi Habiba who
was the daughter of Hazrat Shahabuddin Jagjut. If there will be
such a lap of such mother, which available to any boy then
there will be no doubt about the good fate of that boy in this
matter. So, for this reason, he was becoming  well known as a
person of saintliness.
Pledge: He has the caliphate and he was a pledge on the hands
of Hazrat Alauddin Suherwardi in the chain of Suherwardia and
who has from Hazrat Sulaiman Mahsavi and who has from
Moulana Taqiuddin Mahsavi and he has from Khaja Ahmed
Damishqi and he has from the  pledge and caliphate of the
Shaikh Shuabuddin Suherwardi. In the book Monas Quloob at

the meeting 9th and first on page number 463 the following
details are written about him that he used to go in service of
Hazrat Sulaiman Mahsavi and he has  a devotion from him. But
he has become a disciple of Hazrat Sulaiman Mahsavi but he
has also become  a disciple and caliphate of Hazrat Alauddin Ala
Haq Suherwardi.
Righteous work and guidance: For the work of righteous and
guidance he has visited a large number of the places which
were at long distances. Like Tibet area which is very far and
where he was going there for the preaching and propagation
mission work of Islamic religion and for this long-distance
journey, he has suffered hardship on the way. And he  lighted 
the light of Islamic religion in the darkness of infidelity and
polytheism. And from that light, it is not known how many
lucky persons who were benefitted in this matter for this
reason.
Revelation and miracles: There were happening, many of the
events of revelation and miracles by him in this matter. Hazrat
Muniri who has mentioned in his book Wasila Sharaf Wa  Zarya
Doulat that “One time one person who has brought a large
number of dead bees in the presence of Hazrat Maqdum Jehan
Shaikh Sharafuddin Ahmed Yahiah Muniri before him and who
said to him that the Shaikh will give life and death. Tell that
these bees may have life. Who said to him that he himself is in
the helpless condition so how he can give life to others.So that
person went in the presence of Shaikh Ahmed Charam Posh
and who has told him that this secret which was given by Allah
to Shaikh Sharafuddin so we cannot do this. He said to bees to
fly, then all bees flown away from there. That person told him

that he has seen life and he wants to see death. Then he told
him that go from here and you will see on the way. When the
person went on the way than any animal who beat him as such
that he has become lifeless.
Compilation and writing of the books and poetry work: He was
a holy person who has compiled and written off the books. He
has written one magazine of two pages in which he has
discussed by different 17 methods about 1. Nasut (Physical
world) 2. Jabrut (heaven) 3.Lahut (world lying beyond space
and time) and one copy of this magazine, which is available
with Shah Alimuddin Balqi in Alam Ganj Patna.
      He was the Sufi poet of the Persian language and his pen
name was Ahmed. And in his poetry there have found the
secrets and hints about Sufism, knowledge of God and his
complete Dewan (collected odes of a single poet) which was
available with Shah Mohammed Zafar. Some of his odes which
were printed by mistake in the name of Ahmed Jam and which
were available to the public in this matter.
Caliphs: The list of his appointed caliphs which are very in
length. Hazrat Shams Balqi son of Muzafar Balaqi who was his
disciple and caliphate. Also, his elder son Syed Sirajuddin who
was his disciple and caliph.
Children: Among his son Syed Sirajuddin and Syed Tajuddin
who were perfect, holy persons of their time. The tombs of
both them are situated in the area of Anbir locality in Bihar
Sharif.
Death: He died on 26 Safar in the year 776 Hegira. He was
buried in the Anbir locality in Bahar Sharif. Half a couplet of the
year of his death is translated as follows.

14. Hazrat Maqdum Jehan Shaikh Sharafuddin Yahiah Muniri

Name and title: His name was Sharafuddin Ahmed and his title
was Maqdum Jehan. In the book of Malfuzat of Ghulam Arshad
Jaunpuri named Ganj Arshadi volume 4 on page 116 and it is
written as follows.
“This lower person of the compiler of this book who has
ascertained and heard this information from higher-level
sources about his title Maqdum Jehan that when Maqdum
Jehan visited with Hazrat Jalaluddin than he said upon his visit
that  Maqdum Jehan that you are Maqdum Jehan.
Native place: Historical Munir village in the Bihar Province.
Year of birth: He was born in 26 or 29th Shaban in the year 661
Hegira in the Munir Sharif. And from
the words, Sharaf  Agin,  his date of birth will be known as per
book Wasila Sharf  Wa Dariya Doulat compiled by Sufi Munari.

Buwwa who has taken too much care and attention in this
matter. So there is mentioned in the book Manaqb Asfia the
details as follows.
“ The mother of Sharuffin was never feeding up milk to him
during his time of suckling without ablution.”
This method of care and attention to bring up and patronage
which will be seen very less.
Glad tidings of the saintliness: In the books of Malfuzat
(speeches) it is written as follows.
“ One day her mother left him alone in the cradle and she has
gone for some need. When she had returned back then he was
seen that there was sitting one person near the cradle, and who
was driving away from the bees from there and moving the
cradle there. When she was afraid in this matter, then that man
has vanished away from there. When there was a relief for her
from fear, then she has gone to see her father Shaikh
Suhabuddin and she has explained to him all the details of the
event in his service. He said to her that “ Do not worry about
this matter because that person who was Hazrat Khaja Khizer.
And who will shake the cradles and who will also protect the
boys. And your son will have become a pious person of his

time. Khaja Sahib is angry upon us and saying that your


daughter left the boy alone in the house and she went for some
need outside. It should not be done because there is a fear of 
the evil eye and evil spirit in this matter.”
Teaching and training: His primary education which was done
in his house. The details of holy persons who have participated
part in his early education which is not mentioned in the
biography books. But his higher education which was made
under the shadow of the genius person of the time and the
person of knowledge Hazrat Sharafuddin Abu Tuwma. Hazrat
who was a superior learned person of his time and he was a
Sufi. He was president of the board of education and teaching
during the rule of the Sultan Altamash of Delhi Kingdom. His
status and position which was retained for a long period of
time. But it kept hold till his time of death. He has such public
popularity that there will be a rush of the  and devotion of
people  with him. So, for this reason, Sultan Ghyaduddin Balban
was thinking  it of the danger that his popularity may decrease
the importance of the sultan in this matter. So for his fear
sultan has given him the order to go Sonargaon. He has obeyed
the order of the Sultan of Delhi and he has started the journey
toward Sonargaon. This event which was happened
approximately in the year 664 or 673 Hegira. While traveling to
Sonargaon he has stayed some days in Munir. And where he
has met with Hazrat Shaikh Sharafuddin
Ahmed Yahaih Munri and upon meeting with him, he was
affected with his plenty of knowledge and wisdom. And he was
thinking  in his heart that research of knowledge of Islam, which
is possible in his service and company of the such a research

scholar. So, for this reason, he was, decided to accompany with


the personality of the knowledge on his journey towards
Sonargaon. So that he can be benefitted from his company in
this matter. Even Abu Tuwama also who was much affected by
watching Sharafuddin’s ability, style of the advice, and piety
then he has become happier. And he was saying  in his heart
that the teaching of knowledge of Islamic religion so for reason
with the help of such person there should be
done endeavours in this matter. Shaikh Sharafuddin told about
his desire and wish before his parents and upon obtaining
willingness and permission from them, he proceeded toward
the journey to Sonargaon along with Hazrat Abu Tuwama.
    Sonargaon was called some time as Suber Nagaram and at
that time it was the village of Narayan Ganj in the district
Dhaka’s unknown village. Around which now there are find the
largest number of many signs of deserted mosques are
found.Its jungle areas and deserted buildings which are witness
that once it was the  center of the Sufi and darwesh persons.
Hazrat Sharafuddin Ahmed Yahiah Ahmed Muniri who has
worked hard for obtaining knowledge of the Islamic religion.
And he used to be busy day and night on this matter. And with
this engagement, he also busies in mystical exercise
and endeavours. And even he used to keep Tai fasting. Due to
his engagement in endeavours he could not go to the public
kitchen to have food from there for himself. And he used to say
that due to eating on the dining carpet there will be a waste of
the much time in this matter. When Abu Tuwama was known in
this matter then he has arranged for him the separate system
of food eating by him.

Hazrat Maqdum Jehan, who was there in Sonargaon up to the


690 Hegira year till such that he has completed the work of
research on the knowledge of Islamic religion. When the
teacher was decided to teach some other knowledge to him
than he  told him that the knowledge which he has learned
from  him there was enough for him. In the book Monab
Quloob it is written as follows “ Maqdum went to Sonargaon
with Hazrat Sharafuddin Abu Tuwama and he has acquired all
knowledge. When has acquired all this knowledge, then Hazrat
Abu Tuwama told him that “He has with him some other rare
knowledge of chemistry, illusion, magic, knowledge of
captivation, etc., which he should get acquired from him. He
said that I have acquired knowledge of Fiqa (Islamic law) and
knowledge of principles for which I am regret in this matter that
I was spending  such a long time and which was not spent in the
worship of Allah. Now I do not have a need for other
knowledge in this matter. When Moulana has heard this matter
and was seen his courage then he  walked seven times around
him and then he said that “To sacrifice for such courage.”
Hazrat Maqdum Jehan, who said about his teacher Hazrat
Sharafuddin Tuwama in the book Khawan Pur Nemat in its 6th
meeting that “ He was such wise personality, that which even
not found in all over India with his level for this reason. Nobody
did have any suspicion about his knowledge. He used to use silk
turban and silk trouser-string. He wrote such writings that after
him no one did not write such type of writing in this matter. At
the time of teaching if he will face  a problem, then he will take
out his head turban in the condition of hesitation and then he
will hang turban on his shoulder. And take it in his hands and

will think about this matter, then he will find the solution to the
problem and leave it from his hands then he will explain the
problem.
  In the books of biographies it is written that in addition to
knowledge of Islamic law and the mystic way he also knows the
knowledge of chemistry, illusion, magic, and he was perfect in
the other knowledge. In other words, he was not only a learned
person of Islamic religion and a Sufi person, but he was also an
expert scientist of his time. He was a well-known poet and in
his verse comprising couplets of Islamic law which is very well
known and famous as ‘Ba-Nam Haq’s one couplet which is very
famous and well known and its translation and interpretation is
as follows.
On the first day,  oh person there will be asked
About first about the prayers upon your death
   In Sonargaon he has established one Islamic school there. And
in which there was continued education and instruction for a
period of a long time. He died in the year 701 Hegira in
Sonargaon. His grave is situated in Songaraon in Modan Pada
on the open platform. And which is famous even today for the
fulfillment of desires and wishes of the persons who visit his
grave.
Marriage: Maqdum Jehan Shaikh 
Sharfuddin Ahmed Yahiah Munir when he was in Sonargaon
then he was affected by one disease. And its cure was
prescribed 
by the physician of that place as intercourse. And which is also
mentioned in the book Manaqab Asfia and in some other books
of biographies. So for this reason by force, he has followed it as

medicine in this matter. His dear teacher Hazrat Sharafuddin


Abu Tuwama who helped by marrying his daughter Bibi
Bahudam with him in this matter. As per the tradition of the
author of the book Manaqab Asfia that he did not marry and
was for the kept maid as temporary basis to free away from the
disease from him. For the settlement of the problem of keeping
of the slave girl and to marriage’s Hazrat Tayyeb Abdali who
wrote in his book Al-Sharaf and solved this problem with much
ability and efficient way in this matter that he was married in
this matter and not keep slave girl on a temporary basis. With
word slave girl there was a misunderstanding in this matter and
which was clarified in this way.In the gentle and respectable
families at the time of departure of the bride from her house, it
is said by those parents of the bride that “ Miya (Mr.) this is
your Kaniz (slave girl).” There is a general tradition in the
families that for married girls it is said as Kaniz (slave girl).
Children: From the body of the Bibi Bahudam daughter Hazrat
Sharafuddin Abu Tuwama one son Maqdum Zaki and two
daughters Bibi Zahra and Bibi Fatima were born as per
reference from book Anwar Velayat by Syed Abdul Quader
Islampuri and booK Asar Munir by Murad Allah Muniri and also
the same details which are same mentioned in the same
lineage of genealogy details of the family. But in the book
Gulfirdous, Hazrat Aimin Ahmed ,who has mentioned only
Maqdum Zakiuddin. And he did not mention the names of Bibi
Zahra and Fatima. It's possible that Hazrat Shah Amin is the son
of Hazrat Maqdum Zakiuddin. And who has no lineage link with
Bibi Zahra and Fatima. So for this reason, in the book Gulfirdous
he was  of mentioning of his great ancestor only.

In Sonargaon: In Sonargaon he has much engagement of the


educational endeavours there. So, for this reason, all letters
which will be received from his house and he has no time  to
read all of them, so for  the reason he will use to keep under
the stone. When he was finished endeavours of the obtained
the knowledge, then he began reading the letters. And he read
the first letter in which there was news of the death of his
father Maqdum Yahiah Munari. So, for this reason, he has
started journey arrangements and he has handed over his wife
and daughters to Hazrat Sharafuddin Abu Tuwama and he went
toward his native while taking his son Maqdum Zakiuddin with
him in his journey. Upon reaching there he has handed over his
son to his mother then he has calculated about the time passed
away and organized about the present time and began thinking
about the future.
The demand of the peer (spiritual master): When Maqdum
Jehan was completed the acquiring of the education, then
there was found in the passion of  the demand of the peer with
him. Because he knows well that without a teacher nobody
could reach to the destination. So in the book Maktubat Sadi in
the 5th letter, it is mentioned as follows.
“ The beginner after correct repentance among a gathering of
the learned person, it is obligated upon him that he should
demand and search of the perfect spiritual in this matter.”
So he has begun searching for the peer for this reason, but
there was a worry for him about household members and sons.
Upon handing over his son to her mother, he was freed from
responsibility. And his wife and his daughters were under the
sponsorship of Hazrat Sharafuddin Abu Tawama. Once he went

into the service of his mother and has told his desire to her that
to accept his son in his place and think that he was dead in this 
matter. When my mother  saw my firm determination in this
matter, then she has given permission to me and the way
opened for me. So while taking my brother Maqdum Jalil
Muniri I have proceeded toward the journey to Delhi. At that
time Delhi was the center of holy and learned person there.
Upon reaching there he  met all holy people in  Delhi. But he
was not selected any learned person. Upon seeing such a
condition prevailing in Delhi suddenly there was said with his
tongue that “If this is Peeri (spiritual guidance) then he is also
Peer (spiritual guide) in this matter.” Then he went into the
presence of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. And he has participated
in the meeting there and he has also participated in the
educational dialect meeting in the shrine building. His
conversation was liked by Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. And he
was given him respect and honour and he has given him a tray
of betel-leaf to him and bade him goodbye from there. When
he left from there, then Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya told him that
“There is one Samiraq bird, but it does not belong to our entrap
as per our fate.”Maqdum Jehan upon leaving Hazrat
Nizamuddin Auliya he has put some part of the betel-leaf into
his mouth and remaining part he has put on his turban and
then he was gone to Panipat. Where he  meets Sharafuddin
well known as Bu Ali Qalandar. He said about him that “ He is
Shaikh, but he is in subdued condition and who did not engage
in the education of the others.” Since returning from Panipat
his brother Jalaluddin Muniri who has heard about Khaja
Najibuddin Firdousi so he was said about him to his brother,

then he said that who is the Qutub of Delhi who has to return


him from there by giving betel-leave so now where we should
go in this matter.? And upon saying this he was taken betel-
leave from his turban and put into his mouth. And he said to his
brother that what is there happen in this matter so we will go
and see him. On this issue, there was discussion among them
and then they went to meet him. There was created a strange
condition of horror into the heart, which was not found before.
He said in his heart that what is the matter that here there is
such feeling with him in this matter. When there was a  meeting
with the Shaikh then he told that “Burg Dar Dahan Burg
Dar Dastein Ar wa Guftar Ein Ke Mahim Shaikh.” Its translation
and interpretation are that “Leaf in the mouth and leaf in the
turban and the  style of the talking like that as also like they are
Shaikh. Upon hearing this he was taken out beetle-leave from
his mouth and he was sitting  there in respect and in the
condition of horror. After some time he has requested him to
make a disciple. Then Shaikh told him that “ He is waiting and
sitting for 12 years for this purpose.” Then he made him disciple
in the chain of Firdousia. Then he  brought a permission letter
which was written 12 years ago and was given to him. Hazrat
Maqdum was told him that “Still, he didn't have  done his
service and did not learn from the way mysticism. So what you
are saying about how he can able to do in this matter.? Then
Khaja Saheb told him that “He has written this permission letter
with the approval of the last prophet Allah. Your education will
be done by Miskwat Nabwi so do not worry.” Then he was
teaching about mysticism and he was said him to his goodbye.
Then he said to him that “If you hear something on your way,

then do not come back to here again. Maqdum Jehan left from


there and on the way still, he has covered two destinations and
he was heard that Hazrat Najibuddin Firdousi has left the world
on the 6th Shaban in the year 691 Hegira. So, for this reason,
there was created doubt in his heart. But there was the order
of the Peer so for this reason he did not come back again to
Delhi and then he has proceeded on his journey toward Muniri.
Wondering the plains: Maqdum Jehan when he has reached
after his pledge in Delhi near Munir in the jungle of Bahia. And
one day he has heard the sound of peacock and one kind of sad
condition which was found in his heart upon his becoming
a disciple. And which was increased more upon hearing the
sound of the peacock. So for this reason without controlling
him, he  followed the way of the jungle from there.
In the book Manaqab Asfia in which it was recorded as follows.
“Shaikh Sharaf Muniri said that when he has become a disciple
of Khaja Najibuddin Firdousi then there was created one kind of
sadness in my heart. And that sadness which were increased
day by day in my heart and in such condition he was reached to
Bahia. Then he  puts himself into the jungle of the Bahia,”
There was done too much search for him, but he could not
find it there. Shaikh Jalaluddin was given papers of the
caliphate and  the advice of the spiritual master to her mother
and he had explained to her all the  details which were
happening during the journey period.
It is said that after 12 years he was seen in the jungle of
Rajgir. Then he was lost in the jungle as such that for many
years, nobody could see him and not met him in that jungle.
God knows in such a long period of time what Allah has  dealt

with him in the forest area. After a long period of time, some
persons have seen him again in the jungle. When there was
spread news in this matter, then ardent persons who went into
the jungle and used to meet him there.
     It is said that he  spent 30 years in the wandering of the
jungle area. And during this time he was done such
worships and as per his saying that “ If the stone will be there in
his place which will be shattered and will become like water in
this matter.”Also, the start of his revelation and miracles was
done and commenced in the jungle area and it was continued
up to his stay in the Bihar Sharif.
He was found Maqdum Cholai, who was like a diamond and
which he found him during his wander period in the jungle
area. And his details we will mention in the next pages of this
book.
The land of Rajgir in which still there are found signs of the
wandering in the jungle by Maqdum Jehan during
his endeavours and mystical exercise there. And which are
becoming memorable things for the visitors to that jungle area
and these signs which are saying by his tongue that due to
steps which have given the place as such of blessing and
benediction that for this reason which has become a place of
kissing in this matter. Maqdum’s place of worship which was
inside of the cave at the place of cleanliness there was found a
hot water stream that was provided to him by the source of
nature there. And still, it is a famous and well-known worship
place of Maqdum and Maqdum Kund. And which due to
importance has become a place of attraction for the visitors.

It is said that there was a world of his experience


and endeavours which belongs to Maqdum and which was
sacrificed on his foot during his wandering the jungle area.
After that, with the help of these signs in the jungle area
Maqdum has started the work of preaching and advice and
which he has established such a garden that from that place
still in the present time there is found the fragrance of the
scent at that place. And which provide relief to the hearts of
uneasy persons there in the jungle area.
Mystical exercise: The learned persons are agreed in this
matter that endeavours and mystical exercise are which is the
beginning of the mystical way and which is compulsory in this
matter. And without passing from it there is no exemption in
this matter. 
For the deficiency of sensuality and manners of the sensuality,
it is required to have the burden of mystical exercise and which
was the method of the practice of the holy persons who were
passing away from the world. Maqdum Jehan after becoming
disciple then he was entering the above phase of the mystical
way in this matter for this reason. So, for this reason, he was
engaged in these hardships for a period of 30 years in the
jungle of the Rajgir and Bahia area.
    It is said that somebody has seen him that he was standing in
the jungle while putting his hand on the tree in the condition of
surprise. The ants came and going in his throat. But he did not
have any information on this matter. In the book, Wasil Sharaf
on page number 23 Hazrat Sufi Muniri wrote as follows.
“ This Fakir the writer of this book has heard by many holy
persons that it was not known for how long the period he has

spent in such conditions in the jungle area. This event which


was happening in the Bahia jungle. In this place his Chilla
(Chilla (Persian: ‫چله‬, Arabic: ‫أربعين‬, both literally "forty") is a
spiritual practice of penance and solitude in Sufism known
mostly in Indian and Persian traditions. ... The fan chilla is
derived from the Persian word chehel "forty". Chilla is
commonly performed in a solitary cell called a chilla-khana.)
place which is a place for visitors. At that time Land Lord of
Jagdishpur was passed from that jungle area. And when he had
seen him and thinks that he is a dead person. But when he had
put his hand on his nose, then he was able to know that he is
still living there. And he has brought him to him a house on the
bed and applied oil his holy body. With the help and food and
medicine he was doing his service very much. When there was
the recovery of his health then he wants to leave from his
house so he has asked him to stay at his house. And he has told
him that “ I and all house men and women are his servants and
slaves in his service. But he was not ready to stay there, then by
force-ably and he was agreed in this matter. So, for this reason,
he was accompanied by him to send him to his destination. In
Monis Qulboob volume 12 on page number 193, it is mentioned
that “ I have heard from Maqdum Nousta Touhid that he was
heard by Maqdum Shaikh Muzafar who said that “ One day he
was asked Maqdum Jehan that whether you have not eaten
food for a period of 40 years.”? And he has said that “ Do not
say that he did not eat. But during this time he did not eat
grains, but sometimes he used to eat fruits of any tree and
leaves and grass.”

In near the Maqdum Jehan where there is the available stone


in which there was found the hole and in which the deers used
to come there and fill it by their milk.It means deers used to
come there and put their nipples so for this reason there will
befall of the milk into the stone hole from the nipple of the
deers. This sincere person of his shrine was asked whether he
used to drink the milk. Then he said that “Yes.”
In the book Manaqab Asfia on page 136, it is mentioned that
one time Qazi Zahid who was learned person as well as he was
mystic initiate and who has asked him that, “ Maqdum we have
heard that you have not eaten food for a period of 30 years.
And there was no requirement for the passing of your urine and
stool in this matter. And what were the results of these mystical
exercises.”? He said that “ He did not eat food for a period of 30
years, but at the time of need he used to eat something from
the jungles. So, for this reason, there was stopped stool and
urine in this matter. And after a long period of time, there was
the discharge of sperm and there was very much cold and so I
went near the bank of the water. And there came thought to
perform dry ablution and to perform the prayer. Then there
came the thought of the soul and which want to take refuge in
the Islamic law. And immediately jumped in the water and was
become unconscious there. When the sun was rising, then it
was become wake up and on that day morning prayer has
lapsed for this reason. Then he said “Zahid whatever mystical
exercise and endeavor which did by Sharafuddin but there were
such condition that if in his place there was found mountain,
then it would be shattered and will become water for this
reason in this matter. But there was no effect on Sharfauddin.”

The fondness of the ecstasy: In the book Monis Quloob volume


12 in which it is mentioned that Hazrat Maqdum Shaikh
Hussain, who said that “One day Qazi Zahid has asked with
Maqdum that when hid he had a fondness with him and so
inform its details. Then Maqdum said that “ He had a fondness
with him two times. First at that time when he was wearing
clothes and when he was jumped into the water. And the
second time when he was wandering the jungle and one day he
has seen one Shepperd who was grazing his cows there. And
there were calves were there with him. At that place there
were houses were also there. Among those calves, I have like
one of them and was watching for the calf. And the Shepperd,
who was sleeping under the tree and at that time, many Hindu
women from that village came there to collect cow dung. And
among them, there was one magician woman who has done
damage to the calf and went away from there. So for this calf
was fallen on the earth and who was in the restless condition.
When Shepperd was wake up, then by that time all village
women left from there. And I was standing there. So he caught
and told me that “You have damaged to the calf and he was
struck with me with his staff and he wanted to strike me again.
Then I have told him that “ Why he is striking me.”Then he told
me that “You have beaten my calf.” Then I have told him that
“If your calf will become good, then you will not cause suffering
to me.” He told that “Yes.” Then at that time, I have faced two
problems that if I will be silent then there will be no freedom
from Shepperd and if said something then there will be known
secret of that woman. So with some excuse, I went to see that
woman and by wisdom, I told her that try something so that

calf will become well so that your secret act will be not known,
and then I will be free, otherwise you will be involved in the
problem for this reason. And upon hearing this that woman
applied magic on the calf so for this reason calf was becoming
better. And my case in this matter is that upon hitting of
the shepperd on me,  I found some kind of fondness and taste.
In Monis  Quloob, in the meeting number 55, it is mentioned
that Hazrat Shaikh Maqdum Muzafar has asked one time that in
the beginning time “Whether he has a fondness in the
endeavour.” So he has said that “When he was on the
mountain in Rajgir and in the uncontrolled condition, I went to
search for the lawful thing there. Then I have seen that at the
edge of the mountain one person who was eating  the food
there. And his employees who moving double fan made of
peacock feathers. I went near to him. And said to him that  the
divine help or guidance is a great thing. That person told me to
come to have food with him. So I went there and began eating
some morsels as per my requirement. When his persons have
seen my such condition they come there have scolded Khaja
that he is not ashamed to eat food with such a person like me.
And with this conversation, I have got much happiness in this
matter. So for this reason, in happiness, I went up on the
mountain and I was due to happiness lived on the mountain in
the condition of ecstasy there.
Miracles and revelation: There were happened miracles and
supernatural habits by the holy persons. But sometimes it
happened that due to miracles and supernatural habits which
was helped guidance work and advice and for preaching and
propagation of the Islamic religion. But sometimes they have

shown miracles by intention, for the need and purpose. But


almost they used to avoid miracles and revelation as well as
supernatural habits. Because in this matter there will be a look
which will befall on the miracle instead of the person of the
miracle. This will be like idols and coquetry in the look of the
mystic person of Allah. So as per the writing of the book
Maktubat Sadi as per letter-number ten in which it is added
saying of the Shaikhs and about which Maqdum has said are as
follows.
There are idols in the world which are endeavours of miracles
And if miracles are real then it is good otherwise it is regret.And
then I have asked with Jogi (Hindu ascetics) what Sudha is
called then he said that Sudha is a term among Hindu ascetics
and its meaning is a perfect holy person. He said further that if
he will say this jungle to become converted into gold, then it
will convert into gold at once. When Maqdum has said these
words, then the entire jungle was converted into gold
immediately. Then he made an indication toward the jungle
and he said that you live in condition and I am making
conversation. The above miracle which was happened by
Maqdum without his intention from the side of Allah. And
before Jogi, it was known the reality of Islamic religion.
In the book Manaqab Asfia on page number 139, it is
mentioned as follows.
One Jogi who was reached to position and was a person of
magnificence and who was met some of the disciples of
Maqdum Jehan. In their hearts there came to think Allah has
given such beauty to an infidel person. And Jogi who has
done endeavours of the innermost so he was able to know their

thoughts on this matter. And then he said to them that they


should not think like that. And he asked them is there any
teacher (Guru) they have with them. Some disciples who were
among them said that “Yes”, there is our teacher. And they
mentioned the name of the Maqdum Jehan. And they praise
him in this matter. And by way of inquiry, he has asked 
whether he will come to see him there.? And those people have
told him that he is a holy person and he will not go see
anybody, whether any person who may be whatever then he
will come to see him in this matter. Upon this Guru told them
that to take him in his service. So the persons have taken him in
the presence of Maqdum. When he has looked at the Magdum
then he was running away from his backside immediately. And
the persons have asked him why he is running away from there
so he told that he was merged in the shape of Kartar (attached
with attributes of the reality) and he has no power to go before
him. And if he will go before him, then he will burn and die
there. The person has told the story of the Hindu ascetic with
Maqdum then he was smiling and told them that ask him to
come before me now this time he can able to see me. Then he
came in his presence, and he said that now I can see him. And
he was sitting in his company for a longer time than he said to
him that advice me and preach about Islamic religion so that he
can become a Muslim person at his hands. He has kept him in
his company for three days then he has departed him from
there.
Somebody was asked with Maqdum why he has asked him to
go from for some period of his company then he told him that “
He was doing the work in complete shape, but becoming rusty

which is the veil of infidelity which was finished by his company


for short, period of time so he has departed him from here for
this reason. This matter was correct that Maqdum who was
taken work for him and with much, ability, he made hidden his
miracles in this matter.
So how will hide the sun behind the hanging screen
And the eyes of reality which will be found everything
“ Why there are endeavours.”? One day Hazrat Mazhar Balqi
was asked with Maqdum Jehan that “Darwesh persons first
introduce Islamic to infidel persons and at the same time they
will help the infidels to reach to Allah. And the present time
there will be done endeavours by the disciples.” He was told
that “In those days infidel persons who will accept Islam and
they will have the complete ability with them. But during this
time disciples do not have the ability with them so, for this
reason, the Peer who will give them order for the
doing endeavours in this matter as per book Manaqab Asfia on
page number 141.
Stay in Bihar: When Hazrat Maqdum Jehan was staying in the
jungle of Rajgir then at that time caliph of Hazrat Nizamuddin
Auliya, Nizam Moula and some other persons who were also
staying in Bihar at that time. When he was able to know that
Hazrat Maqdum Jehan is in Rajgir jungle and he is visiting the
people in the forest area. So, for this reason, Hazrat Nizam
Moula along with his friends who used to go in the jungle and
search and visit him there in the forest areas. When he has
seen their true demand, then he told him that “You are coming
to see by covering a long distance of the journey. There is the
fear of the wild beast and other dangerous animals there in the

jungle area. And which seemed to him not good. So you all live
in the city. I will come on Friday in the city and will meet all of
you there.” Moulana Nizam and his friends who have accepted
his suggestion in this matter. Maqdum who used to be present
in the City Jama (central) mosque and then he will meet the
people there. Hazrat Maqdum who will spend some time
with Moulana Nizam and his friends and then he will return
back to the jungle area. And for a long period of time, this
schedule was continued. The people were decided someplace
for a stay of Hazrat Maqdum. So, for this reason, they have
built two huts outside of the city and now in its place, there is
found his respectable shrine building. Hazrat Maqdum after
Friday prayer he used to come in that hut. After some days
Hazrat Nizam Moula who has taken permission from the
governor of Bihar, Majd Malk and with his money he has
converted two huts into a perfect house there. And with Hazrat
Maqdum Jehan, then it was requested by him to sit on the
carpet there. By paying regard to friends who have forced him,
then he was sitting on the carpet. Then he was seen toward
Hazrat Nizam Moula and other persons and he said that “
Friends your meetings which brought me to such limit that
which was taken him to this idol worship place.” For a long
time, he has stayed in that house and till there was strength in
his foot he used to go outside for one month or two
months period outside from there. When there was no more
strength in his foot, then he has stayed in the house.
The Sultan Mohammed Tughlaq of Delhi kingdom when he
was able to know that Hazrat Sharafuddin upon spending a
longer period of the time in the jungle area and after keeping

away from the mankind now he is staying Bihar and now he is


meeting with the people there. So for this reason he was given
the order to the governor of Bihar to construct for him shrine
building and for meeting the expenses of the shrine, Rajgiri
village should be given. And he has sent one Bulgarian prayer
carpet to him so that he can arrange to send it in the service of
Hazrat Sharafuddin. And if Maqdum did not accept it then there
should be done force in this matter so that he can accept it
from his side. The governor of Bihar went into his service and
he has requested him with much entreaty to accept the royal
present. And he said that what is position of him that he should
act as per the order of the Sultan of Delhi Mohammed Tuglah.
But your honour if you did not accept it then it is not known
what treatment which he will be done with me in this
matter. Maqdum was accepted royal gift of the prayer carpet
for this reason that what there will be the punishment which
should be made to the Governor of Bihar. But during the rule of
the Sultan Feroz Shah of Delhi, he was migrated from Rajgir and
he was personally going to Delhi and he has returned back
order of the endowment document of Rajgir village to him and
he was engaged in the worship of Allah in Bihar on the faith of
Allah then he was engaged in the work of the righteous work
and advice with full attention.
During the stay in Bihar, the people have seen his thousand
shapes of him there. His attributes are as follows.
The dignity of the content, pay regard to thought,
overlooking, indigence and sincerity, trust in Allah, heart-
touching style of righteous work and advice, and what other
things which the people of seen in him. He has got favour and

he was given favour to others. Till such that after passing


of time of 800 years, he is famous even today for the fulfillment
of desires and wishes of the persons who visit his grave. It is
hoped that if there will be willing  of Allah then there will be
available favour in the future time.
Oh Sharaf be safe your silt by the grace of Allah
The dignity of the content: Before it was written that when
Nizam Moula and his friends and who have requested with
Hazrat Maqdum Jehan to sit on the prayer carpet, then he
addressed to them that “ Friends who have forced him, then he
was sitting on the prayer carpet. Then he was seen towards
Hazrat Nizam Moula and other persons and he said that “
Friends your meetings which brought me to such limit that
which was taken him to this idol worship place.” Maqdum’s
saying is this is proof that he was from vanity and as well free
from necessaries and overlooking and from all of it.
In the books of biographies it is written that Shaikh
Hameeduddin has love and affection with him. And one time he
came in the midnight time. And that time it was a moonlit
night. And Hazrat came outside. And he was sitting in the
courtyard. After some time he was told that this platform
should be increased. And the courtyard should be seen as
clean. Shaikh was standing and he said that “ I was able to
know that in the midnight time it finds difficulty about
performing affairs of the religion. And for its solution, he comes
there. It is said that to increase the size of the platform. This is
not saying that to destroy the  idol worship place and take out
all of its bricks and make it ruin. In the book Manqab Asfia it is
written that once learned persons who have shown him his

desire and wishes when there was a turn of Maqdum come


then he said that which is as follows.
My  name which should be left in this and another world.
To be kept from hiding his condition and mere show, which is
the best contented lovely style of paradise in this matter. And
which was followed by Maqdum Jehan with a great level and
higher standard. So Allah, may shower uncountable graces
upon him.
Pay regard to thinking: In the book Manqab Asfia it is written
that in a supererogatory fasting condition if anybody will bring
some food and request him to eat at the near breaking time of
fast, then he used to eat that food soon and he used to say that
there is a lapse of the superogatory fasting. But there is no
lapse of the breaking of the heart.
Overlooking: In the Manaqab Asifa it is mentioned that one
person who has to lead the prayer, then after that the person
has informed the Hazrat that the person is a wine drinker. And
he  told them he did not drink always. The persons told him
that he drinks wine always but he did not drink in the month of
Ramdhan.
Indigence and trust in Allah: In the book Monas Qalabi in which
there was recorded that for leaving from Rajgir he has come to
see Sultan Feroz Shah in Delhi and on the way he was met Qazi
Sharafuddin. And who asked him “Where you are going.”? Then
he said to him that “He is going for one requirement.” Then
Qazi has asked him “For what purpose.” So he told that “There
came to think paying  in mind to leave from Rajgir so for this
reason he is going to Delhi to see a Sultan Feroz Shah and
return back documents of the endowment of Rajgir.” Then Qazi

Sharafuddin told him that “ If you leave Rajgir then you are
Junaid of our time,” then he said that “If he will leave one
village then he will become Junaid then what other need he
required.” In short when he was reached near the sultan then
at that time royal courtiers who said that “See his greediness
that Sheikh was not satisfied and content for Rajgir village.
Then he was entered in the court of the Sultan Feroz Shah of
Delhi. Then Sultan said to him that if Sheikh will ask for the
entire province of the Bihar then he will give him.” So, for this
reason, all were regretted in this matter.
When he  reached to the gate of the court then Sultan has
welcomed him and with much respect and honour he was
taking him inside of the royal court. He said to him that “ He
came there with some need and you promise that you will
consider it, then he will say to him in this matter. The Sultan
was promised that he will consider his request by his heart. And
after this, he was taken out the document of Rajgir from his
sleeve and which was given into the hands of the Sultan. And
he has said that for the sake of Allah take it back. And which is
no need of him. The Sultan and all his courtiers who were
surprised in this matter. For the reason that Sultan was
promised in this matter so he did not say anything to him. Then
he has requested with him that as Maqdum has done such so
he should take cash from his side for expenses. The Sultan has
presented his money to him, then he has accepted money from
the Sultan. But after leaving the royal gate, he has distributed
all money and cleared his hands and went away from there.In
the book Monis Qulub it is also written that Hazrat Syed Kabir
who was the paternal grandson of Hazrat Jalaluddin Bukhari.

Sheikh Ahmed Bin Balaqi who said that Hazrat Maqdum has
sent one pair of slippers to Hazrat Mir Jalaluddin Bukhari. And
who sent to him one turban.The disciples of the Hazrat
Jalaluddin Bukhari have asked to him what was there a
requirement in this matter.? He said that “He has sent to him
sleepers in it there is meaning this he is the dust of his foot.”
So, for this reason, we have seen that he has done favour and
humility as well as sincerity. So we have sent a turban for him.
And its meaning is that you are the crown of our head. Hazrat
Syed Kabir who was said that there was such attachment of the
heart in between two of them. As the language of the bird
which will be known by the birds only.
One event which is recorded in the biography, books that “
One day his relatives who were arriving at his house to visit. So,
for this reason, his mother has cooked for them bread and hen.
When Maqdum was seen smoking in the kitchen, then he was
told his servant Hazrat Chulhai that “ Have you provide the
daily item to his Mamu (mother) and he was told him that yes
he was brought. Then he told him that why there is smoke in
the kitchen there.” Shaikh Chulhai has explained to him details
in this matter. Then he was going to see his mother and he told
him that “ Him by putting one condition with you by making
black colour on the face but why you are doing like this.? When
Bibi Sahiba has heard his conversation and then she has given
uncooked hen, bread and flour to the relatives and she has told
them that they should cook the food at some other place and
eat the food there.
Who is the courageous person of Allah.? In the
book Manaq Asfia on page number 137, it is mentioned that

one time Qazi Zahed asked Maqdum that you used to praise


pious persons very much so who are great pious persons in
India and give their details in this matter. He said that mad
person is in Pani Pat. Qazi told him that there are so many pious
persons in India what is the specialization of Bu Ali Qalandar.
Then he told him that “ Zahid you asked about the pious person
of Allah and not saint person.”
The above said to Qazi Zahid who was asking him that “
Maqdum you were going to Delhi so how you have found
Delhi.? He said to him that “ Zahid if you asked about Delhi
more than there are found more worshipers and mystic
persons and more people of the  sitters who are on the prayer
mats as well as many persons of miracles, but the thing which I
search which he also search by that person it means a mad
person in Pani Pat.
Aaz Ka Kavi and Ahmed Bihari: It is reported that Ahmed
Bihari and Aaz Ka Kavi, who were holy persons of the category
of the Majzub (one lost in divine meditation) type. And who
used to be present in the service of Hazrat Sharafuddin usually
and if he will ask with him about the special unity of God. In the
condition of madness, they used to say matters openly which
did not have the power of mankind to listen to such matters to
them. Shaikh Aaz Ka Kavi, who used to live in one village which
was far from Bihar Province. If they do not have time to come
in the service of Shaikh Sharafudin and if they find problems
about the special unity of God and occurrence of the love and
affection, then he used to write letters to him and ask him a
solution in this matter. Hazrat used to send him replies by post.

And those letters were collected in the book Kalmat Shaikh


Sharafuddin Ajuba Kakuya.  
   These two holy persons who went to Delhi during the rule
Sultan Feroz Shah and they spoke there about the special unity
of God openly and blasphemous way.
  Some persons about their phrases have filed complaints in this
matter. And they have gathered all leaned persons and all have
given a mutual opinion to kill both of them and both were killed
for this reason. When Maqdum Jehan was able to know in this
matter, then he has said that “Like Delhi city, a center of
learned persons, pious persons, as well as persons of excellence
and where like Sultan Feroz Shah ruling in Delhi and who was a
devotee of holy persons and nobody, did not do even such
work to leave them on the presumption that they are mad
persons and allow freedom from the punishment in this matter.
Then he 
said that “ If there will befall of the blood of the holy persons in
the city, then it is strange that the city will continue to
habituate.” So it has happened like his saying. Then there were
happened clashed between prince and Vazir (minister). After
that, the Mughal army attacked Delhi City and was destroyed
the city totally and do away with cause the destruction. Then
there was not remain any law and order in the city. And a large
number of the people who were killed in that demolish.
Due to killing of Azka Kavi and Ahmed Bihari’s the sadness of
Hazrat Maqdum Jehan and his statement about Delhi that “It is
strange that the city will continue to habituate” and which have
been reported to the Sultan of Delhi by the royal intelligence
staff. So the king was gathered, learned and pious persons. And

Sultan has been told to them that “As per your opinion given by
you all persons I have killed Azka Kavi and Ahmed Bihari in this
matter. Shaikh Sharfuddin why he was saying like this.” So all
persons by agreeing mutually with one tone they said to the
Sultan that “You call and ask with him the reason in this
matter.” As per suggestion given by them, Sultan has called
Maqdum Jehan in the royal court. By that time the servant of
Hazrat Syed Jalaluddin Bukhari came over there and who was
given benedictions to the Sultan of Delhi. The sultan  asked the
servant what is the reason that after a long time Maqdum was
remembered him.? Then the servant told him that letters which
were written by Maqdum Sharafuddin which were received by
him so for this reason he has adopted loneliness to read those
letters there. For some period of time, nobody could meet with
him for this reason. And for this reason, there was a delay in
this matter. The Sultan was regretted sending his order to
Hazrat Maqdum Sharafuddin to be present in his court for
hearing his reply. Then Sultan has sent another order that first
order should be treated as canceled that to call such holy
person from his place of sitting. When the order of Sultan for
his presence in the court of Sultan which was reached in the
hands of Hazrat Maqdum then he has said that “This order was
canceled due to the sake of Hazrat Syed Jalaluddin and another
order is coming on the way.”
Rightous work and advice :Righteous work and advice is the
practice of the holy persons. But there are fewer who are
available and who has the sweet style of the effect and
attractive kind of speaking on this matter. So for this reason,

even after many centuries in the world the effect in this matter
which is still found. 
Hazrat Maqdum Yahiah Muniri belongs to the persons of
great effect and influence in this matter and who is among
them and his spiritual attraction which is covering the
period on many centuries. His mausoleum in Bihar which is
famous even today for the fulfillment of desires and wishes of
the persons who visit is grave.
Hazrat Maqdum who was devised for righteousness and
guidance and training and education of the disciple and there
are his three methods as follows.
1. The first method was his meetings of the light in which the
people who used to attend the meetings and in which there will
be a discussion on different topics, like exegesis of the Quran,
Hadith, Islamic law, Sufism, the biographical details of the hoy
persons, conditions of the world, autobiography, things
concerning other people, in short, what there is not which will
be not discussed in the meetings of the Sheikh of time Hazrat
Maqdum Jehan. The people ask then Maqdum will reply to
their questions in this matter. There will be brightness to think
and look. And there will clearance of the impurity of the heart.
So, for this reason, there will be feeling in the person and he
will learn a nice arrangement to return toward God.
2. The second method is writing letters for education and
training of the disciples as well as sending of the replies by
Maqdum for the questions which will be asked by the persons
who are living at long distance places. And who could not come
into his service of Maqdum for the reason of their
engagements. So they were in a helpless condition to come in

the service of the Maqdum for this reason. Also, many persons
who want re-search of many issues of the knowledge so for this
reason they will send their queries by letters and Hazrat will
send them to complete replies in the satisfaction of the
persons.
3. The third method : Hazrat Maqdum was writing books and
magazines on different topics. And from which there will be an
explanation and description of the subject in the very
interesting and heart touching way in his days as well as at 
the present day which help the persons in this matter. These
books are light to the persons of the knowledge as well source
of the righteous work and guidance and it will act as the lamp
and which could not be extinguished and it is light of the
knowledge and  the guidance on the continuous basis. There
will be a lot of mercy, of Allah on the person who turns on this
lamp. Also on the persons who have carried that light to long-
distance areas.
Malfuzat (speeches): As mentioned as above that this first
method was his meetings of the light in which there will be
different topics and discussion, answers of the incidental
questions, and in which the people who used to attend the
meetings and in which there will be a discussion on different
topics, like exegesis of the Quran, Hadith, Islamic law, Sufism,
the biographical details of the hoy persons, conditions of the
world, autobiography, things concerning other people. At the
meeting, there will be present some persons who have given
abundance provision of divine help in this matter so for this
reason they have recorded word by word of Malfuzat
(speeches) which were said by Maqdum in the meetings. So

there is a favour of  the Hazrat Zain Bader Arabi, Ashraf, Sheikh


Shahabuddin Emad, Salah Mukhlis Dawud Khani, on the
persons who come after them for this work of reporting of the
meetings of Hazrat Maqdum and for this reason book Malfuzat
Maqdum Jehan which came into existence. So for this reason
from the time of Maqdum till present time those holy persons
who have transferred Malfuzat of the Hazrat Maqdum to the
next generations in this matter. They have taken much care and
attention that there should not mix any other things in the
sayings of the Maqdum. So, for this reason, it can be said
without any fear and contradiction that it is real reporting of
the meetings of the Maqdum during his period. And there is no
mix-up and free from any other thing and mistake in this
matter. And very authentic as well as in the original shape.
While reading these sayings it will be known that the reader of
the book which will feel that he is in the meeting of the
Maqdum and he is hearing each and every word by his hearing
there by himself. Due to  the reading of the sayings of the
Maqudm, there will find changes in the reader and such
changes can be said as pleasant and pure. Please find the
details as follows.
Moulana Karim, who asked what is Hadith.? And he said that

Wahi (revelation) which will be Jali and as well it will be hidden.
And Wahi Jali which will be sent by the angel Gabriel to the
prophet. And the complete holy book of Quran which was sent
to the prophet by  the angel Gabriel. And Wahi Khafi (hidden)
which will be sent to the prophet without a source of the angel
Gabriel. It means it will be sent directly. As per the saying of the

prophet this kind is called Hadith. (As per book Qan Purnamat


volume six).
There are two kinds of knowledge. By endeavouring and
without endeavours and chest by the chest. And after this, he
said that without saying by tongue the people have the
conversation. Chest by chest, which is not known about the
tongue. As per the saying of the prophet who said in favour of
Hazrat Abu Baker Siddiq that whatever knowledge which Allah
has put into the chest, which I have also put into the chest of
Abu Baker Siddiq. This is the method of the chest by the chest.
And in between, there was no tongue there in this matter. But
in this matter, there is required, such disciple who will be like
Hazrat Abu Baker Siddiq R.A. (Maq Mani 16 volume).
It is said that there are 12 books of Malfuzat (speeches) of
Maqudm Jehan. And most of them have been published. Some
are handwritten books are there. And which are safe and
secure in the libraries and shrines of Bihar and the names are as
follows.
1.Asabab Najat Fariqat Asa. 2. Bazar Mania (Tuhfa
Gaibi Fawid Gaibi. 3. Qawn Purnamat 4. Rahat Quloob 5.Kanaz
Mani. 6. Ganj Layafni 7.Maq mani 8.Maratal Muqiqin 9. Madan
Mani 10.Maz Mani 11.Maluz Safar 12.Munis Murdin.
Letters: Hazrat Maqdum’s one great achievement is his letters.
The letters are half a meeting. In which there will be a
conversation on one side. And on the other side, there will
remain silent. It is a source of frank expression of the thinking
which, when one can express his thinking to others. Hazrat
Maqdum has written a large number of his letters to disciples,
friends, and relatives. There are thanks to Allah the favours of

the holy persons that to us have reached their books of letters


of Hazrat Maqdum on this matter. And the details are as
follows.
1.Maktubat Sadi : These letters have been by Maqdum in the
name of the ruler of Chousa Qazi Shamsuddin. The reason for
writing these letters is that Qazi Saheb who was his disciple.
Due to the administration of his area, he could not get time to
come in the service of Maqdum Jehan so for this reason his
teaching was done by Maqdum by the source of letters to him
in this matter. In the letters, it is mentioned about the
correction of faith, correction of manners and teaching to keep
away from greed and hypocrisy, the difference of felicity and
misfortune. Also, there is light on other topics. In this book,
there is a collection of 100 letters that are added to it. And
which was compiled by Zain Bader Arabi and its Urdu
translation is also available. And remaining letters are collected
by Mohammed Bin Eisa Balaqi Almad Auba Ashraf Bin Rukan.
And Hazrat’s some disciples who due to lack of the sources or
engagement of the worldly matters who could not present into
his service. And for these reasons who were helpless to come
into service of the Maqdum so they write their problems and
difficulties on the way mysticism by letters and get  the solution
of the problem by replies through letters in this matter.
2. Maktubat Do Sadi : The collection of these replied letters has
given name as Maktubat Do Sadi and there is the translation of
this book is available in the Urdu language.
3. Maktubat Bast and Hasth : In this book of the letters written
to Moulana Muzar Balqi and in this book there are added 28
letters written by Hazrat Maqdum. Hazrat Maqdum was written

to Moulana 200 letters and but he wants to hide those letters


from the general persons. At the time of his death, he was
advised to bury all 200 letters in his grave. By chance out of 200
letters, 28 letters were not buried in his grave and which were
added to the above book.
Books: In addition to his books of speeches (Malfuzat) and
letters Hazrat Maqdum has left behind 14 permanent books
and the names are as follows.
1.Ajuba Asula Khurd 2.Ajuba Asula Kalan 3.Irshad Sharfi.
4.Irshad Salikin 5.Irshad Talibin 6. Aurad Khurd 7.Resala Hidayat
Dar Hal 8.Resla Zikar Fawaid Aon 9.Resla Makkia 10.Resla Wasul
Illah. 11. Sharah Adab Muridin 12.Aquid Sharfi 13. Fawaid
Muridin 14.Fawaid Rukni.
Among the above books and magazines and each and every
book is very important in its place and its own prestige. There is
wide of the topic as well as deepness of the details and
language is easy to understand as well as fleeting and also
attractive and style of explanation is such that so which has
converted into shape and colour as such that so there will be
given light to thinking and look as well to mind in this matter.
So it transfers into the heart easily its meaning and explanation.
The following details are as follows.
Whatever which was said by some persons from it there will
appear that the beginning of the Sufism is from knowledge. And
its action is average and its end is munificence. The open reply
in this matter is that as per the saying of the other persons who
said that Sufism’s beginning is knowledge and its average action
is and its end is munificence (bestowal of Allah). It means this
group which will acquire knowledge of Islamic law for the sake

of Allah. Then for the sake of Allah, it was acted upon it. And
after that at the last, he will become eligible worthy of the
salvation for the nearness of the reality. The nearness of the
reality is from the attribute, and not from the place. (From book
Adab Murideen).
“ Oh, brother, it is known to you that from the first day of the
birth till the last time of the death to be remaining free from
the sins and this is the work of the angels. To involve in the sins
from the first to last time this is the work of Satan. To involve
sin and have repented upon it is a work of the Adam and his
sons. Oh, brother man is not apprehended in the sin, but he will
be apprehended upon leaving for the repentance and not for
the sins. If the man will involve in the sin and at the same time
he was repenting in this matter, then there is consensus that
there is apprehend for him. (As per the book Fawid Rukni
Fawid Suwam)
Details of  the lucky persons of the Hazrat Maqdum: In the
book Maqat Asfia, the Shaikh of Islam Shaikh Hussain Moiz
Shams Balqi and who said that there were disciples more than
100,000 of the Shaikh of the world. And among them 40
persons who were persons of the realization. And among them,
3 were perfect, pious persons as follows.
1.Shaikh Muzafar 2.Malikzada Fazal Allah 3.Moulana Darun
Hisari. And among the above three persons blaze of love which
was reached to Shaikh Muzafar and its smoke which was
reached to the other two persons. Some persons who were
reporting this saying that there were 300 persons who were
realized reality.

Great caliphs: The holy persons have done endeavours for the


work of righteous work and guidance and they have done all
possible try by them in this matter. They have organized
meetings and by writing books as well by traveling to long-
distance places. At the place where they could not visit them,
they have sent their able disciples by giving them specially the
education and training and for them, they were given them
caliphate and authority on his behalf and in his place and they
have sent his caliphs for this reason. In short, for the progress
of the work of the righteous and guidance they did which is
required there on this matter.
Maqdum Jehan by following the holy persons he was trying
hard for the progress of the work of righteousness and
guidance. He was doing whatever there is required possible for
him for the progress of the work of righteousness and
guidance. And for this aim, they have given caliphate and
permission to their able disciple in this matter. There are many
of his disciples who are there, but some of them are mentioned
as follows.
1.Moulana Muzafar Balqi 2.Moulana Amu 3.Maqdum Shah
Shoeb 4.Syed Aleemuddin Gesu Daraz 5.Danismand Neshapuri
6. Shamsuddin Khizer Badayuni 7.Moulana
Naseeruddin Sunami and all the above who have acquired fame
and great well-known persons. The favour of Maqdum Jehan
which is found even today by the source of Moulana Zafar
Balqi.
Death : Hazrat Maqdum Jehan Shaikh
Sharafuddin Yahiah Muniri was died on Wednesday on the 5th
Shawwal in the year 782 Heigri by spending day time he has left

the world in between Maghrib and Eihsa prayer time toward


the heavenly abode. On the 6th Shawwal, his funeral prayer
was performed by individual persons as per the Sunnah
(practice ) of the last prophet of Allah. And he was buried in
Badi Dargah in Bihar Sharif. His special servant Hazrat Zain
Bader Arabi who has written the report of 16 hours of his death
in detail. And this book is printed with name of Wafatnama
Maqdum Malak. Upon reading this book the complete funeral
scene of the Hazrat Maqdum which will come before the eyes
of the reader.
In the Malfuzat (speeches ) book of Hazrat Maqdum Ashraf
Jehangir Latif Ashrafi, it is written that Hazrat Maqdum’s
funeral prayer was performed by Hazrat Maqeum Ashraf
Jehangir Samnani.But the people who were attached to Hazrat
Maqdum even did not mention it by indication also. Hazrat Zain
Bader Arabi, who was written all details of the event, but he did
not mention the above details in this matter. Also, when Hazrat
died then at that time Hazrat Maqdum Ashraf
Jehangir Samnani who was traveling at some other place. So the
correct matter is that his funeral prayer was performed by
individual persons.
The Urs (annual death anniversary )
      The Urs ceremony every year, which is celebrated on 5th to
8th Shawwal in  the shrine building of the Bihar Sharif on the
grand scale. And visitors who come there to attend the
ceremony from far and near places for the fulfillment of the
desires and wishes.

15.Hazrat Shamsuddin Balqhi

Name: Shamsuddin
Native place: Balaq
Lineage and genealogical record: Hazrat Sufi Muniri who was
writing the details of lineage and genealogical link as follows in
his book Wasila Sharaf Zariah Doulat.

Family background: In the books of biographies it is written
that Shah, Adam bin Sulaiman, who was Arif (mystic)
and darwesh person. And his marriage, which took place with
the daughter of the Sultan Ibrahim Bin Nasir Faruqi and from
her body Sultan Adam was born. There were no male sons to
Sultan Ibrahim Nasiruddin. So, for this reason, Sultan Adam,
who was become a successor after his maternal grandfather.
And who. After some time left the kingdom of Balaq and he was
adopted mystic way. Among his sons, till Sultan Mazhar Shams
Balqi and Moiz Shams Balqi, his kingdom was continued. At last,
they have also left over the kingdom of Balaq by following their
ancestors. And they went on the way of Allah for this reason.
Condition : Hazrat Shamsuddin Balqi who bear the burden of
the Balaq kingdom for a long period of time. When there was
the demand of the Allah was created in his heart, then he left
over the kingdom in the hands of his elder son Mazhar Shams
and he was going for a journey to Delhi. As per the
book Manaqab Asfia, the details are as follows.
    The date of birth, as well as the date of death of Shaikh
Shams Uddin, is not found anywhere. But he belongs to the
holy person of the 7th and 8th centuries. Because he came to
Bihar upon hearing the name and fame of Hazrat Maqdum Syed
Ahmed Charm Posh and his date of birth is 657 Hegira and who,
after education, he has got devotion and he has received a
caliphate. Who spent a large period of time in Tibet in the
teaching and preaching mission work in Tibet area. It is

supposed that he was arrived in Bihar in and around in


approximately in the year 730 Hegira. And he was settled down
in the locality of Anbir. At that time his two sons Shaikh
Muzafar and Shaikh Moizuddin and to whom he was, left
behind him. So for the reason they by following his father who
came to Bihar. And from this, it is supposed that at that time
the age of Shaikh Shamsuddin was approximately 40 years. So,
in other words, his date of birth is and around 690 Hegira year.
The date of death of his son Moulana Muzafar Balaqi is 788
Hegira. So surely he died before this year. Because in the books
of biographies there is no mention of his living in the world.
Also now running the year 1423 Hegira year and his 19th
generation is coming into existence. As per the rule of lineage
and genealogy 3 generations for each century, then so he was
considered the holy person of the 7th and 8th century in this
matter.
Devotion and caliphate:“ He has got devotion from Hazrat
Shaikh Ahmed Charm Posh as stated above and his spiritual
master was given to him caliphate. As per the writing of
Hazrat Yahiah Muniri in the book Wasila Sharaf Zaria
Doulat that Shah Muzafar and Shah Moizuddin who left the
kingdom of Balaq by following his father Hazrat Shamsuddin
and who was the caliph of Hazrat Shaikh Ahmed Charm Posh.
And they come to Bihar for pledging on his hands.”
Children: Hazrat Shaikh Shamsuddin who has 3 sons and who
were most respectable and pious persons.
1.Hazrat Moulana Muzafar Balqi and who was  a disciple and
caliph of Hazrat Maqdum Sharafuddin.

2. Hazrat Moulana Moizuddin Balaqi who was the disciple of


Hazrat Shaikh Ahmed Charm Posh and he died in Makkah on
9th Shawwal and at that time his elder brother Moulana
Muzafar Balqi who was there with him. Upon his death, he was
told as follows.
“ It was proper that they have taken me as I am older than you.
And then he said that in between us there is only this dress. (As
per the book Manaqab Asfia  and reference from Sharaf.). He
was taken edge of the shirt in his hand and he was indicated in
this matter. From this event, it is known his year of death is
before 788 Hegira.
   The son of Hazrat Moizuddin Balaqi Hazrat Maqdum Towhid
Nousha who was  the disciples of Hazrat Maqdum
Sharafuddin Yahiah Ahmed Muniri. And he's brought up which
was done by his uncle Moulana Balaqi and
Moulana’s favour which was like a higher garden which was
started from him due to his training only.
3. Hazrat Qamaruddin: As per the saying of Hazrat Sufi Muniri
that Hazrat Qamaruddin who has skill in many knowledges and
he used to question with Moulana Muzafar about the soul
usually. And Moulana who used to say him that in which there
is no permission to reply in this matter so do not ask in this
matter. But he  insisted on this matter. And he is taking hold of
the whole. Once he has insisted too much on this matter, then
with his tongue it was said to him to shut your mouth. And he
has a habit of eating very much sweets, so used to eat very
much Irani sweet Tarngabin. One day he was eating Tarngabin
and which was in his mouth and which were blocked in
the  mouth and which could not be taken out from his tooth for

this reason. So many tries were done in this matter and he has
died.Upon his death, he has seen him in the dream and he was
asked to him 
 “Whether you have solved the problem of the soul.?” Then he
said to him that “Yes and it was the reality which was at your
side so for which you were not going your statement in this
matter.”
Hazrat Qamaruddin’s daughter who married with Hazrat
Maqdum Hussain Nousha Touhid Balqi son of Moulana
Moizuddin Balaqi.
Death: Regarding the date of his death, which is not confirmed
in this matter. But it is sure that this sad event which was
happening before 788 Hegira. He was buried in the locality
in Anbir in which his last part of his life was spent there.

16.Hazrat Maqdum Zaki

Name: Zakiuddin
The native place of the birth: He was born in Sonargaon, in the
house of his maternal grandfather Hazrat Sharafuddin Abu
Tuwama. Bur his native place was Munir and in which there
was the house of his grandfather.
Upon completion of education, his father Maqudm Jehan
Sharfuddin came to Munir from Sonargaon, in the year 790
Hegira and he came along with his father. At that time he was 3
or 4 years old. And from this, it was known that he was born in
the year 768 or 787 Hegira year.
Conditions: His father, who has handed over him to his mother.
And he was left in search and demand of Allah. After becoming

disciple he has spent complete 30 years in the jungle areas.


Then he has stayed in Bihar. And during this long period,
Zakiuddin was brought up by his grandmother. And he was
completed education and training. When there was created the
passion of the demand of Allah in his heart and he was taken
with  permission from his elders and then he was, started his
journey in this matter for the demand of reality. His younger
uncle Habibuddin who used to love him very much. So, for this
reason, he was also accompanied by him during his journey.
And he shared with him in his journey and in his stay in the
places during the journey period. On the way, he has met one
holy person and he was becoming his disciple. At last, he went
to the city, Kuda Kalan. The sultan of this place Syed Hasan,
who very much affected by him. And he married his daughter
with him. Afterward, he has settled down Shaker Deh village
from suburbs of Sevdi district Bir Bhoom and which is no called
Maqdum Nagar Sikad district Burdwan.
Children: There was born to him one daughter Bibi Barka and
who was brought to Bihar upon the death of the parent in the
milk feeding days. And who brought under the care of her
grandfather and great grandmother. And she was married to
Hazrat Waheeduddin Chilla Kush who was  a sister’s son of
Najibuddin Firdousi. And his sons who were habituated in
Maqdumabad in the area of Arwal.
Death and burial place: He died during a period of his youth.
The year of death is not found anywhere.His and his wife’s
mausoleum are found in Shaker Deh (Maqdum Nagar) village
and his younger paternal uncle Hazrat Habeebuddin was buried
in  the Shaker Deh village.

17.Hazrat Maqdum Jaleeluddin

Name: Jaleeluddin Ahmed


Native place: Munir Sharif Bihar’s famous village
Conditions: His education and training which was completed at
the house. In the demand of the Peer, he was accompanied by
his brother Shaikh Sharafuddin. And he was reached to Delhi.
And he has visited the shrine of Hazrat Nizamuddin. And from
there he  reached to Pani Pat and visited the shrine of Bu Ali
Qalandar. But he could find his aim in this matter. So, for this
reason, he was returned back to Delhi. And where he was
heard about Hazrat Najibuddin Firdousi’s style and method and
his qualities. He said about this to his brother, but he was also
insisted on this matter that they should have to visit the Khaja
Sahib in this matter. And there is no harm in this matter. So
both brothers went into the  service of Hazrat Najibuddin and
pledge on his hands.On the return journey near Bahia, there
was prevailed one condition on his brother. And he himself
went into the jungle area for this reason. So for this reason he
has gathered some persons and along with them, he went into
the jungle area to search for his brother and tried his best in
this matter but he could not find him there in the jungle area. In
the helpless condition, he has come back to Munir with the
permission letter and advice letter which was given to Shaikh
Sharafuddin and has given to his mother and he himself was
busy in the engagement in the worship of Allah.

Devotion and caliphate: As stated above that he was the


disciple of Hazrat Najeebuddin Firdousi in the chain of
Firdousia. But he was getting  caliphate from his father Hazrat
Maqdum Yahiah Muniri in the chain of Suherwardia.
Death and burial: He died before the death of Hazrat
Maqdum Yahiah Muniri in the year 782 Hegira and he was
buried in Munir.

18.Hazrat Maqdum Chuhlai


Name: Chuhlai
Native place: village Badamra near Kako ( Kako village is five-
kilo meters away from Jehanbad city.)
   In the book Ganj Arshadi on page 117, it is mentioned as
follows.
 “Near Kako village in Badamra village, there is available Chilla
(Chilla Persian: ‫چله‬, Arabic: ‫أربعين‬, both literally "forty") is a
spiritual practice of penance and solitude in Sufism  is known
mostly in Indian and Persian traditions. ... The fan chilla is
derived from the Persian word chehel "forty". Chilla is
commonly performed in a solitary cell called a chilla-khana) of
the Hazrat Maqdum Jehan. And Hazrat Chuhlai belonged to this
village and he belongs to the community of  the cow herd.
Conditions: Hazrat Chuhlai who was a special servant of Hazrat
Maqdum Jahan Yahiah Muniri. And when he comes into
the  service of Hazrat Maqdum then he was living there and he
had live always with him. In the house of the Maqdum, there
will not be the available fire in his kitchen. And whatever which
was fixed for mother of Hazrat Maqdum which Hazrat Chuhlai

who used to bring for her from outside. Also,


Hazrat Chuhlai used to act as a guard of the villa of Hazrat
Maqdum. In the books, it is mentioned that one day Hazrat
Maqdum who engaged in the room and Hazrat Chuhlai who
was at the door of the building and at that time Hazrat
Shamsuddin ruler of the Chousa who came there and even after
the prohibition of Hazrat Chuhlai he went into the room of
Hazrat Maqdum. And he said Salam to him. And due to very
much engaged, he could not reply to his Salam. Then he was
asked some questions with him and for which he was given
replies in which there were such points and which are against
as per learned persons of the knowledge of manifest in this
matter. So for reasons ruler of the Chousa who was becoming
sad and left from his house. When the special condition was
over from Hazrat Maqdum then he was called Chuhlai and
asked him who came there. And Chuhlai was told him that yes
the ruler of Chousa came there. And whatever which was
happened said to him. And then he told him that “to be tied his
hands and to be taken in the presence of the ruler”. When the
ruler of the Chousa was able to know about arrival to his house
of Hazrat Maqdum in such condition then he was gone outside
of his house and he was opened his hands and he was regretted
in this matter.in short Hazrat Chuhlai who has spent all his life
in the service of Hazrat Maqdum Jehan as per writing in the
book Wasil Sharaf  Wa Zariya Doulat on the page number 52 “
The story of becoming Muslim of Hazrat Chuhlai is that when
Hazrat Maqdum who was in the jungle area of Bhaia and as he
was cowherd and who was grazing his cows in the jungle area.
Hazrat Maqdum asked for  him to give milk from some cow.

And he told him that this cow did not deliver a calf. Then he
told him to try to take out  the milk. Then the cowboy told him
that she did not join with the male partner, then he again told
him that try to take out the milk. Upon very much insisting
Chuhlai with anger tried to take out milk from her so, for this
reason, there was mlik collected and the pot was full of milk.
Then he was becoming his slave without cost and money. Then
he began to  say this that “He will not leave such foot for this
matter.” He left over cows, house, and everything and he was
engaged in the recital and endeavours and he was becoming
perfect and was becoming a person of realization.
Death and burial: In the book Wafatnama in which there
are mentions details of every person who was near to Hazrat
Maqdum Jehan but in this book, there is no mention of Hazrat
Chuhlai and which shows that he has died before the death of
the Hazrat Maqdum Jehan. And his grave is near  the 
mausoleum of the Hazrat Maqdum Jehan.
Saintliness in Aden : Moulana Muzafar when he has reached
the status of the Shaikh then he has given excellence and was
spoken him that   “ Body of Sharafuddin is life of Muzafar and
life of Sharafuddin is body of the Muzafar and Muzafar
Sharafuddin is Sharafuddin Muzafar.” Then he was given
saintliness of Aden for him. The land of Aden which will not use
to accept dead bodies upon burial and will push out them from
the land. Due to benediction of his holy foot in Aden this
custom was stopped it.

                                   19.Khaja Mohammed Tala

Name and title: Mohammed Tala, the title, is Khwaja


Conditions: He was a holy person and who belong to the
worthiest chain during the time of Hazrat Maqdum Jehan and
he was living at that time in Bihar. In the book Ganj Arshadi on
page 1160, it is written that “In the Bihar Khaja Mohammed
Tala who is residing there and who is son of the sister of the
Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya.
    It is written in the book Wasila Sharaf Zairya  Doulat on page
number 37 that “One time Hazrat Maqdum Jehan asked him
why he did not give caps and did not make disciples of him”.
And then he says that “Shaikh Mohammed said that his soul
cries and said that if you give caps then who will eat fried bread
in the bazaar. And he said to him that does not involve in this
problem.”
From the above writing, it is known that there was his relation
with Maqdum Jehan deep and informal and also it is known
that he has belongs to the holy person of the chain. But its
details are not yet known.
Death and burial place: In the book of Wafatnama Maqdum
there is no mention of his name. So from this, it is known that
he had died before 782 Hegira and his grave situated in the
compound area of Maqdum Jehan.
                 

20.Hazrat Moulana Amu


Name: Amu

Monger now well known as Shaikhpura.
Lineage and genealogy record: His lineage and genealogy
record is mentioned in the book Tahqiqat Mani in the third
meeting 
as follows.

Conditions: Hazrat who himself has said in one meeting about
the details of his family background and which are recorded in
the book Tahiqat Mani details in the brief as follows.
     Hazrat one day came to the people who present in the
meeting on the 6th Rajab. Upon asking questions at the
meetings by the persons about his migration details he has
explained the details. He said that his holy persons who belong
to the city Isfahan in Iran. One holy person of his family Shaikh
Abdul Chosavi who has migrated from Isphan and he was
settled down in Chousa. And he was born in his family. His
father Ibrahim came to village Chrovian with all his family
members and he was settled in this village. And who was the
disciple of Hazrat Ibrahim Maqdum Jehan Yahiah Munri. And
due to this reason Hazrat Maqdum Jehan, who used to go by,
this route to see his cousin brother and disciple Hazrat Shoeb
and Hazrat Shah Moiz Maghrabi.On the way, I have met Hazrat

Maqdum Jehan. And he was paid kindness toward me and he


has asked something for his eating there. And from that food
one morsel that he has been chewed and then he has put some
portion of it into my mouth. And from that time there was
prevailed a condition of the light into my heart of the body.
Then there was no attachment of my life with the worldly
matters. And from that time I was attached to the company of
the Hazrat Maqdum. So, for this reason, I used to be with him
during his journey as well as his stay in any place. And during
this time I have completed the knowledge of the manifest and
blessed with pledge on his hands. During this period ruler of
Bihar Kamgar and his title, which was known as Malk Maqtah
who was allotted a portion of land to me to meet the expenses
of the family members. But I have refused in the beginning, but
later as per the order of the Hazrat Maqdum Jehan, I have
accepted the land given by the ruler of the Bihar for this
reason. One day Hazrat was planted one Chukan Persian flower
plant at one place and he has given  instruction to him to
set up a garden here and he has said that this is land for your
house for living for you as well as your family members.
Devotion and caliphate: Hazrat Moulana Amu who has
devotion and links of the caliphate from Hazrat Yahiah Muniri.
Children: In the books of biographies it is mentioned that he
has the only son and his name is Hazrat Arzani and who was his
disciple and caliphate and who also his successor.
Malfuzat Mubarak (holy speeches) and its other name is
Tahqiat  Mani and this is book of speeches of Hazrat Amu. And
which was compiled by his son Hazrat Arzani. And in this book,
there are two parts that are in it and in every part, there are

added three meeting details are in it. And the details are as
follows.
Part one 
The first meeting was held on the 5th Rajab
The second meeting was held on the 6th Rajab
The third meeting was held in the Shaikpur village
Part two
The first meeting was held on the 8th Rajab
The second meeting was held on the 9th Rajab
The third meeting was held on the 4th Shaban in the year 784
Hegira. In it, there was added lineage and genealogy record of
Hazrat Maqdum Jehan, Moulana Amu and Moulana Muzaffar.
And after this, some details of Hazrat Maqdum Jehan and
Moulana Amu and this magazine, which was compiled in the
year 784 Hegira.
Death: Hazrat Amu was died in the year on the 4th Shaban in
the year 784 Hegira at the time of the afternoon. All such
details are recorded in the book Tahqiat  Mani as follows.
“ After 25 days of loneliness in the room, then he was sitting  on
the holy prayer mat. He was called all disciples and students
with much emphasis and his desire and demand. So, for this
reason, all disciples and students who sat before on their knees
around him in this matter. Then he  told by his holy tongue that
“ This is my last journey. And if there will be respect
and honour for him there ,then he will not leave anybody. And
my final advice to all my friends and my relatives is that they
should have  the remembrance of Allah at the always.” Upon
hearing this sad conversation so for this reason all were began
taken deep sighs and weeping in the meeting place. The

persons began expressing sadness and sorrow in this matter


and also there is the problem and worry for all of us that such a
personality of benediction from him all disciples and students
who were benefitted much in this matter for this reason and
such person of perfection leaving them and they were deprived
of his benefits. When this order is must so for this we should
have to agree on this matter as this will of Allah is there in this
matter. Then he was called this sinner Arzani and asked him to
sit on the carpet before the audience of the meeting. And he
has given his turban and other benedictions in this matter. And
he has instructed by the tongue of the writing about his date of
death, month, year and a  day in this magazine. So at that time
by invisible revelation chronograph of the date of the death as
Marsia which is in the Urdu language is as follows.
‘Hazrat Ke Tariq Dil Me Utargai’ ( The date of death of Hazrat
which has entered into the heart). When I have recited this
chronograph of the date of the death as Marsia then he had
liked it very much. And he was happy in this matter and he told
me that “ As this Marsia is such good that so to add in the
magazine.” So as per his instruction, it was preserved in the
magazine. Then he  said goodbye to all persons individually.
Then he went into his room and began engaging in the
remembrance of Allah. On Friday on the 4th Shaban in the year
784 Hegira at the Chaste (mid-morning) time he has left this
mortal world and he went to his heavenly abode and buried in
the grave at the time of Zuhar prayer.
His grave is situated in the compound in Charovan village.
And which is famous even today for the fulfillment of desires
and wishes of the persons who visit his grave. Hazrat Sufi

Muniri who has written one stanza about his date of death and

Maqdum Shah Amu who was a favorable person
And who was like a refulgent pearl from oyster shell
Who made diving in the sea and free from the world
The year of leaving is recorded as the 784 Hegira year
 
21.Hazrat Mazhar Balqi
Name: Mazhar
Title: Imam AL-Ashaq, Moulana, The title Moulana which was
given to Hazrat Mazhar Balqi by the court of the prophet of
Allah. Its details which were mentioned in his letter number
165.
Native place: Balaq in the rounding of the city in the North of
Afghanistan.
The lineage of the genealogical record as follows. Hazrat

Status of knowledge: He was the perfect personality in Islamic
law. In Makkah approximately for a period of four years, he has
a learning method of recitation of the Quran and the method of
the Imam Shatibi Quran recitation and he was learning  from
Shaikh Shamsuddin Khwarizmi. And he has learned 7 methods
of Quranic recitation by Hazrat Shaikh Shamsuddin Halwai. And

also he has learned recitation of the Sahain. And he has also


obtained certification of the Hadith (tradition of the Holy
Prophet) and as well a recitation method of the Kutub al-
Sittah (six major hadith collections) of Sunni Islam from him.
And also he has obtained the certificate of Sahih Sitta (The 6
books known as "al-Sihah al-Sitta" are the most reliable sources
for Sunni Muslims with regard to the principles of the Islamic
beliefs, jurisprudential rulings, the exegesis of the Qur'an, and
the history of the early period of Islam. They rely on hadiths
cited in these books in their) from orator of Aden. So his status
of knowledge is so great.
Arrival in India: When there was created  a passion for the
demand of Allah in Shamsuddin Balqi in his heart, then he has
left the kingdom of the Blaq in the hands of his sons. And he
was left for his journey toward India for this reason. He has
stayed some days in Delhi and when he was heard about the
fame of Hazrat Syed Ahmed charm posh so, for this reason, he
was, started his journey toward the  Bihar Province for this
reason and he has become his disciple and he was engaged in
the remembrance of Allah. And he  sent a message to her wife
that if you want to follow me then left the country and wealth
to his sons and come to India. She was told this message to her
sons, then they told her that they deserve to follow their father
more than her. So they began the journey to India by leaving
the country and wealth of the Balaq. They stayed for somedays
in Zafarabad. Then both of them Moulana Zafar and Hazrat
Moiz who went into  the service of their father in Bihar.in Bihar,
he was a pledge on the hands of the Shaikh of his father Hazrat
Shaikh Ahmed Charm Posh. But Moulana Zafar delayed in this

matter. And he has started his endeavours for the search of  a


perfect spiritual master for him.
The excellence of pledge: In the book Wasila Sharaf Zariya
Doulat it was written that “ In the beginning period he has full
interest in the endeavours for obtaining of the Islamic law.
When he will visit any darwesh person then he will ask with him
difficulties of the knowledge. And when he will not be satisfied
with the reply, then he will not correct his faith in this
matter.his father was the caliph of Hazrat Shaikh Ahmed charm
posh. He used to say that Shaikh Ahmed is a holy personality.
And he has supernatural habits with him. It means he is a
person of the miracles. We have faith upon this matter that he
should be righteous on the knowledge. In those days there was
much name and fame for Shaikh Maqdum Sharaf Uddin Muniri.
There are, four knowledges which are as follows. 1.Shariah
(Islamic law) 2.Tariqat (Mystic way of life) 3.Haqiqat
(reality) 4.Marifat (intimate knowledge of Allah). And in these
four knowledges, he has covered a great world of
knowledge.His desire was towards him but there was no
willingness in this matter from side of his father. So, for this
reason, he was not paying his attention to him. When his father
was able to know in this matter, then he has told him that as
there are your wish and desire and where is your devotion so
pay there your attention. Then he came in the service of Hazrat
Maqdum Jehan. And whatever he has the difficulties of the
knowledge with him, then he asked with and Hazrat Maqdum
who was given replies to convince him and satisfied him in this
matter. Due to an excess of the knowledge, he has exceeded
the limits in the conversation and he had said much to him in

this matter. Due to good manners which Maqdum has with


him, he has not done hard conversation in these matters. With
a clear explanation, Hazrat Maqdum has solved his difficulties.
In the last meeting, he was regretted with Hazrat Maqdum for
his boldness of the arguments. And due to the manners of
Hazrat Maqdum he was becoming like him very much in this
matter. Then there was established connection of the heart of
the Hazrat Maqdum that love of the peer which was available
due to favour and excellence of Allah and which is found in the
innermost. So for this reason he has requested him to make his
disciple, for this reason, Maqdum Jehan favoured him and
made him his disciple.
Obtaining knowledge for the  sake of Allah: Hazrat Moulana
Muzaffar who has asked with made to engage him in the way of
the mysticism. Hazrat Maqdum who told him that whatever
you have acquired knowledge for the sake of status and
position. And such knowledge will not result in good in the way
of mysticism. So, for this reason, he should obtain knowledge
again for the sake of Allah in this matter. So for this Moulana
left from there on the journey by foot. And there found blisters
in his foot for this purpose. And with much difficulty, he has
reached Delhi. And he was busy there in obtaining the
knowledge for a period of 2 years there. Regarding his
knowledge, there was much fame in Delhi. So, for this reason,
Sultan Feroz Shah of the Delhi Kingdom has appointed him for
teaching and education in the palace. One day he was busy in
the work of teaching and education in the royal palace and at
that time some chorister was coming there and began singing.
So, for this reason, there was prevailed one condition upon him

and so he was falling down from the first floor to the ground
and allowed looted his house in Delhi and he went to the  Bihar
Province. And there his spiritual master engaged him in the
mystical exercise.
Mystical exercise: Maqdum Jehan, who was allotted his duty in
the service of the fakir of the persons in the shrine building. So,
for this reason, he was busy with this duty with much happiness
and attention in this matter. He used to perform what fakir
person will say to him and will not be feeling any hardness in
his heart. If there will be tears clothes, then he will sew his
dress clothes and make patches for this reason. One day Hazrat
Maqdum Jehan has seen his dress and which was in very much
torn condition. And there was no worry on his face of the head.
So, for this reason, he has given him the order of costly dress
and one good airy house. And this order was implemented
soon. But there was opened upon him the secret of indigence.
So, for this reason, he was not pay attention in this matter.
    Then Hazrat Maqudm was, asked him to sit in the Chilla
(Chilla (Persian: ‫چله‬, Arabic: ‫أربعين‬, both literally "forty") is a
spiritual practice of penance and solitude in Sufism known
mostly in Indian and Persian traditions. ... The fan chilla is
derived from the Persian word chehel "forty". Chilla is
commonly performed in a solitary cell called a chilla-khana.).
And for this, there was provided him one room in Rajgir. A
period of more than 30 days has been passed away in the Chilla
days. Then Amir chorister who came at the door of his room
and he began singing there. Then there prevailed condition
with him so for this reason he has broken Chilla and he came
out of the room in the condition of the ecstasy. Probably some

other place was fixed for his Chilla purpose for him for the
above reason. One day he came out of the Chilla place and he
said that “He is sitting in the Chilla engagement, but there is
thinking of the wife for him many times. So for this reason what
use of him sitting in the endeavours. After some time he has
told that “He was given divorced from such and such woman.”
Maqdum Jehan upon hearing this, then he said that “There is
no need for loneliness for him so he can stay at any place. And
live in any condition which is equal same for him.”
     Moulana Shaikh Muzaffar who did engage in the worship of
Allah in the jungle areas, but he was passed all stages
of endeavours and mystical exercise under the direct
supervision of his spiritual master Hazrat Maqdum and he has
benefitted by the worship very much in this matter and in the
book Wasil Sharf Zariya Doulat that “Once Shaikh Muzaffar who
standing at the silt of the door by upholding his eyes. The look
of the Maqdum which was fallen on him and he was seen that
there was no more flesh on his body and skin is fixed with
bones in the body. And the side is coming outside. Sheikh Jehan
looked at Qazi Zahid and who told him that “Zahid see what
position has become of his condition that he has come over
here by saying he does not accept.And he was found too much
reward and return in an expensive way. (Book Wasila Sharaf
Zariya Doulat page 84 and 85).
Miracles and revelation: In the books of biographies it is
written that one time Moulana Muzafar who was present in the
meeting of his Shaikh Maqdum. In that meeting Shaikh Minhaj
was present there and who has performed seven Hajj pilgrims
in Makkah. The conversation was started upon the topic of the

obligation of the Hajj pilgrimage duty. He was looking at Shaikh


Maqdum with a look of intense dislike. And he said to him that
“There is the obligation of the Hajj pilgrimage duty of every
Muslim person.” Hazrat Maqdum was said about Islamic law’s
excuse for taking care of the service of old mother in this
matter. But Moulana did not like a conversation of Shaikh
Minhajuddin on this matter. Then he became angry and he said
“how many times will you go about performing the
Hajj pilgrimage. See the sleeve of the slave of Hazrat Maqdum
in which you can find the Kaba of the Makkah.” Upon saying
this he was put forward his sleeves towards him. Shaikh
Minhajuddin who was seen clearly the Kaba in the sleeves. The
other persons who were present there have also have seen the
Kaba. All were surprised in this matter, but Hazrat Maqdum did
not like this matter. Then he told him that “The time you have
spent in showing your miracles and such time you have away
from the giver of the miracle for this reason.” One time he has
written to Hazrat Maqdum that “On the way trees used to talk
with him. And one tree says that from it there will be made
silver.” Maqdum Jehan replied to him that “Try in this matter. If
there will be false then this is  a work of Satan. Then send the
curse upon him and if it is true, then show me in this matter.
”So for this Moulana has taken one bangle made of the tin in
his hand and put milk on the tree on it so immediately it was
converted into silver. He has sent that bangle into service of the
Hazrat Maqdum and who write him back that “Oh brother such
many things will be going to happen so do not pay attention in
this matter. And the work is ahead of it.” So for this reason

after this event, Moulana will not give his attention to all such
things in the future period of life.

Dialect :Hazrat Sufi Muniri with reference to his book, Wasila


Sharaf Was Zaiya  Doullat, Ganj Yaqfi and Monis Al-Quloob, he
has written that one time he has an argument with the learned
persons of Bihar. And the topic of the discussion was the
conversation of psychics. Moulana said that Masmuh whatever
which is Muqra it means which is read and whatever
Maktub it means which is written and Mahfuz which has
remained in the hearts. And sure, that is the speech of psychic
is without penetration and other people say that this is not the
speech of psychic. But it denotes the speech of psychic. When
the conversation becomes very lengthy then by his tongue it
was said that “Which will not be understood by you as your
teachers also could not able to understand it.” This saying was
not liked by all of them in this matter. So, for this reason, they
have prepared a statement of a case of a complaint against
him. And Moulana was also prepared one magazine and in
which he has added all arguments of religious branches of the
knowledge and intellectual part of knowledge and in it. The
next day he went into the presence of Hazrat Maqdum and
explained to him all details of the event and he has presented
his written magazine in this matter. Maqdum has read the
magazine and he was unpleasant in this matter and he has told
him that “Moulana you came to me to become Muslim or
making the argument and whatever you have written which will
not be understood by anybody. And these people are Jamid
Tabah people (un-progressive nature people). And tear off this

magazine.” The learned persons of the Bihar who


were coming in this presence of Hazrat Maqdum after waiting
of the Moulana and then they were able to know that Hazrat
Maqdum has the same opinion of the Moulana so for this
reason they have sent their statement of a case of the
complaint in the presence of the learned persons Delhi and
who have said the same matter which was said by the Moulana
in this matter.

Status of the Moulana: In the book  of Monis Quloob it is


written that among two caliphs of Maqdum who were very
dear and their names are as follows.

1.Maqdum Shaikh Muzafar 2. Shaikh Nasiruddin Sonami. When


late Maqdum Muzafar who used to visit Hazrat Maqdum Jehan,
then at that time some time who used to come in the door
and sometimes he will come outside and welcome there more
or less. When, Shaikh Nasir used to visit then at that time he
will be sitting at the two knees. So, for this reason, Qazi Zahid
asked the Maqdum Jehan reason in this matter. So Maqdum
Jehan told him that “ What he will do as when Moulana
Muzafar will come then someone will call and say that
the moon is coming. And some others will say the king is
coming. When Moulana Nasir will come some will say Moulana
is coming.”

In the Manaqab Asfia, it is mentioned that Shaikh Islam


Shaikh Hussain Moiz Balaqi who said that Maqdum Jehan had
disciples more than 100,000 and among them 40 people who
had the position of the realization and among 40,000 there

was three-person who were perfect pious persons and who


were as follows.

1.Shaikh Muzafar 2.Malakzada Fazallah 3.Moulana Nizamuddin


Darun Hisari. And among three of them, they have fire of love’s
flame which was reached to Moulana Muzaffar. And it's smoke
which was reached by the remaining two persons.

Conditions: In the book Monis Quloob it is mentioned that


Moulana Muzaffar who allowed his house to be looted 40
times. And whatever things which will be gathered in his house
which he will be allowed to loot by others. When I was at a
younger age than he used to catch my hand and take me out
and then he will forget me outside. So for this reason some
people who will be caught by hand and take me out of the
gathering. And sometime he will also be allowed his books to
be looted. And Maqdum Shah Hussain, who used  to take back
those books by paying the prices to the persons in this matter.
One day one fakir person came into his presence and asked
something from him. And there was an available bag of
Maqdum Shah Hussain there so he was given that bag to the
beggar. After two or three days Maqdum Shah Hussain
searching his bag there. He told him that as you well know
that” I am a dishonest person so why did you keep your things
with him.”Then he told him that “ If you give him to anybody
then he will think it is a benediction in this matter.”

   In the book of biographies, it is mentioned that he went to


Makkah for Haj pilgrimage. During the period of stay in
Makkah, he has required something there. So, for this reason,

he has contacted his spiritual master in purgatory, but there


was no established connection with him there. At last, he has
seen the Prophet of Allah in his dream. And who told him that
“Muzaffar this is island of the  prophets, so for this reason due
to respect Sharaf Uddin could not possible for his usage here.
If you have any need tell me so that I can fulfill in this matter.If
you want to tell Sharaf Uddin then leave from this place for this
reason.”Moulana left from there and he  covered many miles of
journey from Makkah. Then he has established connection in
the purgatory of Maqdum Jehan. And then there was solved
the problem of Muzaffar.

There are many of such events of Moulana Muzaffar and if


we add those events, then there will be too much longer on this
matter. So for this reason books Manaqab Asfia and Monis Al-
Quloob can be read on this matter.

Righteous way and guidance: Moulana Muzaffar who has


applied such a method for righteous  way and guidance which
was shown by Maqdum Jehan. And which is as follows.

1.Meetings and discussion 2.Letters writing 3.books writing

   In the book Ganj Layaqfi the speeches, book of


Shaikh Hussain Moizi Balaqi it is mentioned that “ One time he
was present in the meeting of Sama (ecstasy) and there were
some friends of Moulana who were present there. When the
meeting of the Sama was over then he said that he wants to
give some message in the tongue of Sama and Sama want to

say something to all of you and he was read the following


stanza.

Oh group who worship of the soul listens Sama


And listen to some words in the language of the Sama

  Then he said that “The grain are kept in the villas as it is,


clothes are kept in the bundles as it is there so why there is
regret in this matter.”

Custodianship : With reference from book Manaqb Asfia, Sufi


Muniry has written in the book Wasila Sharaf  Wa Zariya
Doulat.

  That when Maqdum Jehan died then at that time he was not


present there. Till his coming there some disciples began
distributing caps and when he has reached there then all
people have gathered at the mausoleum. Then he asked all of
them that you are giving the caps to the persons so what is
there reason in this matter. Hazrat Shahabuddin Manipuri who

told him that he has with some caps of Hazrat Maqdum which


is given to the persons. All of them told him that there is no
reason in this matter. And they have stopped it. Some persons
told that Hazrat Maqdum who was given him, then cover and
so for the reason I am giving caps. Then the persons have asked
him Moulana what argument you have in this matter.? There
was a special handwritten permission letter of Hazrat
Maqdum which was in the house so he has asked Miya Hussain
to go and bring the permission letter. Maqdum Shaikh Hussain,
who, went for some distance, then he has said that his peer is
not dead. I have not become a disciple of such a peer who
should die. Come on we will request him who will be his caliph
as per his saying in this matter. Upon saying this all we're going 
to the graveyard. Qazi Maqdum Alam who said that, “Do you
want to create a problem in this matter.? I know that when he
will ask in this matter,then Hazrat Maqdum will reply.” Upon
hearing this, all persons kept away from going there. And
Hazrat Moulana was sitting on the prayer carpet.

Marriage and children: Moulana was married and there were


no children were born to him. Maqdum Jehan  told him that the
children of Shaikh Moizuddin Balaqi will be children of
Moulana. So Maqdum Hussain Nousha Touhid Ibn Shaikh Moiz
Balqi (younger brother of the Muzafar Balqi) and who brought
up since childhood under his care and affection. And from him,
his favour is being continued so far.
Caliphs: After him Maqdum Hussain Nousha Touhid who was
becoming his successor and sat on his prayer mat.
2. Moulana Qamaruddin Balqi who was Moulana's younger son.

3. Hazrat Jamal Auliya Awadhi


Death and burial: The saintliness of Aden, which was under his
jurisdiction. A long period of time he was spent in Aden then he
was becoming ill and when his illness was becoming very long
so, for this reason, he was called his brother’s son Shaikh
Hussain and he was given all benedictions to him and asked him
to go Bihar. Then he told him that there are available many
peers there in Bihar so what is his power that he can raise his
head there for this reason.? And then he said that “ By
God when you will raise your head, then at that time I will not
keep any heads there.” 

And then he  gave  him advice to him and left this mortal world.
His pure soil, then began to live in the heaven of the Aden. And
in the land of the Aden, his body was buried. He has died on the
3rd Ramadan in the year 788 Hegira. And his mausoleum is well
known and famous Roza Peer Hindi in Aden in Yemen.

   His grave is in Aden, which is famous even today for the


fulfillment of desires and wishes of the persons who visit his
grave.

 And left from Aden to Aden and this is a stanza of Maqdum

Conditions: Hazrat Mqdum Tiam Allah Sufeed Baz who was the


disciple of his father in the chain of Chistiya and he was the
successor and caliphate of his father. Due to his endeavors,
there was much development of the chain of the Chistiya in
Bihar Province. And many of the shrines of the Chistiya were
established in Bihar. He has got favour from his maternal
grandfather Shahabuddin Peer Jagjut and his cousin brother
Hazrat Maqdum Jehan Shaikh Sharaf Uddin Yahiah Muniri.
When Maqdum Jehan, who was in the jungles of Rajgir then he
used to go usually there and visit and get favour from him. The
mission of the holy person was teaching and preaching of
Islamic religion and to show the way of the guidance to
mankind. And this mission work which was belong to Hazrat
Maqdum Taim Allah Sufeed Baz and for its completion, he has
spent all his life.

Marriage and children: His marriage, which took place in the


locality of the Bihar. He has one son Syed Faiz Ullah and two
daughters. The sons of Syed Faiz Ullah spread too much. The
holy persons who belong to this family member who
spread favour of Chistiya chain by chest by chest by a wider
level and in the great scope in this matter.

Caliphs: He has 3 caliphs who were famous and well known and
by them, there was much development of the chain of Chistiya.

1.Hazrat Syed Shah Faiz Ullah shah: Who was the successor of


his father and he was settled down in the Karji village near Dega
Ghat near Patna. And where he has established one shrine
building and which well known and famous Jamat Khana.

2. Hazrat Maqdum Shamsuddin well known as Saman


Arwali Chisiti. He has established shrine building in Ardal village
and started the work of the teaching and preaching of Islam
and still this shrine is active in this matter.

3. Hazrat Sufi Ziauddin Chandosi : His shrine building is


in Chandose.

Death and burial: He died on 9th Muharram in the year 790


Hegira and his grave is situated in Bejuban near Bihar Sharif.

                          

23.Shaikh Nasir Uddin Sunami

Conditions: Moulana Nasiriddin who was the disciple of Hazrat


Maqdum Jehan Shaikh Sharaf Uddin. He was among some of
the caliphs of the Hazrat Maqdum Jehan. When he will present
at the meeting of the Maqdum Jehan, then he used to be sitting
on the two knees of the legs.when it was asked reason of this
then he has said that when he will come there then someone
will say to him that Moulana is coming there.

  The biographical full details of Shaikh Nasiruddin which were


not available. At the time of the death of Hazrat
Maqdum Jehan, he was not available . Moulana Shahabuddin,
who reminded him about him at that time, so Hazrat has said
that Muzaffar is my life and my beloved and Nasir Uddin is the
same as him. Whatever is required in the caliphate
and followers, which are found in all of them. ( As per book
Wafatnama Maqdum Jehan).

Among the sons of the Hazrat Maqdum, Jehan, who was sitting


on the prayer mat of Hazrat Maqdum Jehan and his name was
Shah Bhika. And who pledge on the hands of Hazrat Basir Uddin
Noor Shami. And who was a discipline and caliph of Shaikh
Saderuddin Reza .And who has got devotion and caliphate from
Moulana Nasir Uddin Sonami. And from this, it is known that
from him the chain of Sufism was started by him.

Death: He died in the year 782 Hegira year. But it is not known


when it has happened.

24.Hazrat Qazi Shamsuddin Damasqi

Name: Shamsuddin

Native place: Damascus

Conditions: Hazrat Qazi Shamsuddin Damasqi who was Qazi of


Chosa of Bihar. He was the beloved disciple of Maqdum Jehan
Shaikh Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Yahia Muniri.Due to the
administration of the kingdom, he could not able to present in
the service of Maqdum Jehan. So, for this reason, his education
was completed by writing letters to him from Maqdum
Jehan. Maqdum Jehan, who was written to him 100 letters from
his side to him and these letters which were compiled in one
book and its name is given as “Maktubat Sadi”. And from those
letters, there was not only done education and training of the
Qazi Saheb, but also a large number of the students who were
benefitted in this matter. And still there were getting
benefitting for this reason. So Zain Bader Arabi who has written
in the preface of the Maktubat Sadi that “ After praise of Allah
and blessing upon the holy prophet of Allah this weak person
Zain Bader Arabi say that when Qazi Shamsuddin who is the
ruler of Chosa and who was among his disciples and who has
requested continuously and repeatedly with him and its real
aim was that “As this helpless person who is unable to present
in his service for the duties of the responsibility of the kingdom
as well as the regret of not getting time for this reason and so
he is away from the meeting place of the Hazrat Maqdum in
this matter. The presence in the service of the spiritual master
which is the reason for the getting of the knowledge of the

religion and the world and for which he is not getting


such favour for the above reasons. So in this matter, he is
requesting him with a humble request to write him something
in each chapter of the mysticism in this matter. So that such
knowledge which should be understanding of this slave
person's mind for which he will be obliged in this matter for
writing such few lines for his interest as well as for his fondness
as well as for the lucky favour.”

  Hazrat Maqdum Jehan, who has affection to this sincere


disciple in this matter. And its some glimpse which can be
found in the book Wafatnama Maqdum Jehan. In which
written as follows.

“Moulana Shihabuddin,Hilal and Ateeq who have asked with


him what should be written in the chapter of Qazi Shamsuddin
then he has said what should be said to Qazi Shamsuddin. Qazi
Shamsuddin is like my son. In the letters so many places he was
asked to write him as his son in the letters. And at some other
places as brother. He is the cause of manifestation of
the of darweshi and for the sake of him it has been much
written and said in this matter otherwise who will write.”

   In the book Ganj Arshadi in which there are available full


details of the event of becoming a disciple of the Qazi
Shamsuddin with Hazrat Maqdum. Its synopsis is that one time
Qazi Shamsuddin came into the service of Hazrat Maqdum
along with his four disciples. And he said Salam to him and at
that time Hazrat Maqdum who was in the condition of
engrossment so for this reason he could not reply to his Salam

to him. The Qazi Saheb told his relatives that he was fulfilled
the practice of Islamic religion, but he was ignored, it so be a
witness in this matter. And after this, there were some other
discussions were also held there. And from the tongue of
Hazrat Maqdum, there was spoken something which is against
as per the points of thinking of the persons of the Islamic
jurisdiction in his condition of the engrossment. Then Qazi
Sahib who was made some persons as a witness and went from
there. When Maqdum Jehan returned back from the condition
of engrossment then at that time his special servant
Hazrat Chulahai who has explained to him all details in this
matter. So for this Maqdum, Jehan told Hazrat Chulahi to tie his
both hands with the rope as such that there should be a
discharge of the blood from his hands and take to him in such
condition to Qazi Saheb’s house. Hazrat Chulhai who followed
his instruction in this matter. When Qazi Saheb was able to
know that Hazrat Maqdum Jehan came to his house in such and
such condition. And immediately he came out of his house and
untied his rope and he was entered into the circle of the
devotion of the Maqdum Jehan.

Death: In the book Wafatnama it is mentioned about him and


from it will know that he was living at that time and so he died
later in the year 782 Hegira year.

                             25.Hazrat Zain Bader Arabi

Lineage and genealogical record: Arabic

Conditions: He was among  the sons of the Hazrat Imam Hasan


and during the time of Maqdum Sharufuddin, he has stayed in
Bihar along with his mother and which is proved by historical
recording.

 In the book Wasila Sharaf Wa  Zariya Doulat as per page,


number 46-47, the following writing is available in it.

“ Hazrat Zain Bader Arabi in his youth time and he went to see


his mother while drinking wine and asked with her some money
for his use. Then she has told him that “Oh son if you have
given to her then ask from her.” So, for this reason, he was
ashamed very much in this matter. He comes outside from
there. And decided to go and see Maqdum Jehan. And there his
intention which has brought him into the door of the shrine
building and he was seen Maqdum Jehan, who was sitting on
the prayer mat at that time. And who has seen me and asked
me to come near him there. And when he  reached near him,
then he was uplifted the corner of the prayer mat and asked
me to take money not more than of two fits from there. I have
seen there was running river of the wealth there and stretched
my hand and was taken two fits of the wealth from there and
come outside and went into the presence of my mother. When
she  looked upon me then she was very angry with me. And she
has told that “ You have asked and requested from such Sultan
the enemy of the world.” So I came outside and
freed myself from all such wealth and money. And make
my colour of the face black and then went into the presence of
Maqdum Jehan and repentant again in this matter.

Hazrat Zain Bader upon becoming a disciple of Maqdum Jehan


he used to live in the service of him always. Hazrat Zain Bader
who was compiled many of the books of the letters and
speeches of Maqdum Jehan.

Hazrat Zain Bader who was also compiled the following books


of Maqdum Jehan.

 Letter books: 1.Maktubat Sadi and which was entirely


compiled by him 2.Makatubat  do Sadi in which he was
compiled in the beginning 151 letters in the book. 

Speech books: The following books of speeches were compiled


by him.1.Qan Per Nemat 2.Rahat Quloob  3.Mukh
Mani 4.Madan Mani  5.Malfuzat Sagar

All the above books which were mentioned above which were
compiled by Hazrat Zain Bader. So may have mercy of the Allah
upon him. The result of his endeavors which was found in the
persons during the time of the last many centuries and as well
as still today is found its benefits for this reason. There was the
affection of Maqdum Jehan always for him. He  performed his
duties to wear dresses to Maqdum Jehan. In the book
Wafatnama  it is mentioned as follows.

   “ This helpless person Zain Bader Arabi and who has put his


head on the land with trembling and shivering and was
requested for the renewal of the pledge and repentance with
much sincerity and was held the holy hand of Maqdum Jehan
and kissed. And spread it over his head and on the eyes and
the  pulpit. Then Hazrat Maqdum Jehan asked me who are

you.? Then I have told him that “ The dog of this


shrine Zain Bader Arabi. And who, repenting and want to
accept the  renewal of the pledge.” Then he said “Go I will
accept you. As well as all your house members. And all your
family dining requirements which will be under my care so I
accept all. And the wearing of my clothes is your work with me.
There was given authority to your persons. So be assured in this
matter.” If there will remain my honour, then I will not leave
you. This helpless person told him that “There is
available honour to the slaves of the Maqdum.” Then he said
that “ There are much hope and confidence in this matter.”

Death and burial: He has died after 782 Hegira and he was


buried in the compound of  the shrine building of
Maqdum Jehan at the foot side of the Hazrat Maqdum Khalil in
the eastern direction after the three graves at the side of his

 26. Hazrat Maqdum Khalil Uddin

Conditions: He was third brother and disciple of Hazrat
Maqdum Jehan Shaikh Sharaf Uddin and during his whole life
he was in the service of his spiritual master for
making endeavours of favours. And even after the death of his
spiritual master, he did not leave the door of the shrine
building. There was the kind look of the Hazrat Maqdum, Jehan,
upon him always. In the book Wafatnama it is mentioned as
follows.
“Hazrat Khaliluddin who was his real brother and the special
servant who was sitting at his side and then who have caught
his hand and he was looking at his face and he has said him rest
assured then he began advising him.Hazrat Shaikh Khalil Uddin
due to the grief of the brother as well as finishing off the look of
the spiritual master so for this reason he was becoming dis-
hearted and began weeping. And for this reason, he was told
him with much kindness Khalil rest assured.”
Death and burial place: He died after the year 782 Hegira and
his grave is situated on the right side of the mausoleum of
Hazrat Maqdum Jehan.

Conditions: Hazrat Madum Minhaj Uddin Rasti who left for his


native place for the passion of the demand of Allah. And by
passing stages of the mystical exercises and endeavours,
then he was reached in Bihar Province. And for a long period of
time he was engaged in Chilla (Chilla (Persian: ‫چله‬,
Arabic: ‫أربعين‬, both literally "forty") is a spiritual practice of
penance and solitude in Sufism is a known mostly in Indian and
Persian traditions) there on the mountain of the Nagarjuna
near Bela Ganj in district Gaya. Then he went into the service of
the Hazrat Maqdum Jehan Sharaf Uddin Yahia Ahmed Munari
and he has established a spiritual connection with
him.Maqdum Jehan upon his education and training who was
given him caliphate and permission. He  sent him towards
Phulwari near Patna for preaching and propagation of
the mission work of Islam there. Upon reaching Phulwari he
was doing the  hard tasks and endeavours for the preaching
and propagation of Islamic work there.Due to the grace of Allah
the darkness of infidelity and polytheism which was removed
from there to the most extent in that place. He was established

one shrine building for the work of righteousness and advice


and he built one mosque and Eidgah (Eidgah or Idgah is the
term used in South Asian Islamic culture in the open-air
gathering place, usually outside the city (or at the outskirts) to
perform the Salat al Eid (Eid prayers) for Eid ul-Fitr and Eid al-
Adha. It is usually a public place that isn't used as a mosque at
other times of the year.). The above details were taken from
the book Ayan Watan. The persons who were attached with
Maqdum Jehan, who was preparing  a list of the caliphs of
Maqdum Jehan in which his name is found in it. But there is
mention of one holy person Haji Minhaj Uddin and who made a
conversation of the introduction of the duty of the Hajj
pilgrimage to the meeting place of Maqdum Jehan and for
which there came anger upon Moulana Muzafar Balqi. And who
has shown Kaba on his sleeve? And who was tolerated anger of
the Maqdum Jehan for the showing of the miracle in the
meeting place.If Minhajuddin Rasti is the same Haji Minhaj
Uddin then upon this event who was adopted attachment with
Maqdum Jehan and gods knows in this matter.

 Marriage and children: as per the tradition of the book Ayan


Watan he was married to two women. And he has children
from both of his wives. The chain of the children of the
second wife, which are found. And from her, there were born
three sons as follows.

1.hazrat Baha Uddin 2.Hazrat Azizuddin 3. Syed Mohammed


Maruf. And his children who are found and are continued and
which are found in and around Phulwari Sharif.

Successor: Hazrat Azizuddin who was the successor of his father


as per reference in the book Ayan Watan. 

Death and burial : Hazrat Minhaj Uddin Rasti who died on 29th


Zil Hajj in the year 787 Hegira. He was buried in the Eidgah
building which was constructed by him in the north direction.
Afterward, there was a constructed compound around his
grave. There will be held an annual death anniversary (Urs) in
every year and in the custodians of the buildings of the shrine
of their time who were participating  in the gathering and have
taken part. His grave is in Phulwari which is famous even today
for the fulfillment of desires and wishes of the persons who
visit his grave.

Parents: There are mentioned the details of his parents in the


book of speeches of Hazrat Maqdum Jehan Yahiah Muniri as
known as Qan  Pur Nemat in which it is mentioned as follows.

“ There came the discussion of Syed Waheeduddin in the


meeting place of the Maqdum Jehan then Moulana
Karimuddin who asked him “ Sir, Syed, who comes in the
meeting place and who is that holy person. Then Maqdum
Jehan told me that “ He is the nephew of our spiritual master
and he is the son of Hazrat Alauddin. And who was such a holy
person who was a  master in all knowledge and a successor to
the saint and his connection are higher level. Our spiritual
master who has obtained knowledge of exegesis of the Quran
and Hadith (Ḥadīth Arabic: ‫حديث‬ ḥadīth Arabic literally means
"talk" or "discourse") in Islam refers to what Muslims believe to
be a record of the words, actions, and the silent approval of the
Islamic prophet Muhammad. Hadith has been called "the
backbone" of Islamic civilization, and within that religion, the
authority of hadith as a source of religious law and moral
guidance ranks second only to that of the Quran) and both of
this knowledge he learned from him. He has divided the full
week and the schedule is as follows.
The first-day Islamic law, second-day syntax (Nahu) and
argument, third-day principles and speech, fourth-day Hadith
(prophet ‘s saying) and exegesis of the Quran so in this way, I
used to give the teaching of each knowledge in one day. The
learned persons of Delhi who used to visit the Sultan of the
Delhi kingdom. But Aladdin did not go to see the sultan in his
court in Delhi. Sometimes the Sultan of Delhi who used to an
announcement by the beat of tom that all holy persons who are
living in Delhi should come in the court of the Sultan of Delhi
court. But Syed Aladdin did not look at the call of the Sultan of
the Delhi into his court. Hazrat Zain Bader Arabi, who said to

him that I have heard by the tongue of Syed Waheed Uddin


that my mother and Shaikh Najibuddin Firdousi who belongs to
one mother. And Shaikh Rukanuddin and Nizamuddin who
belongs to one mother. Hazrat Maqdum Jehan, who said that it
is quite right.”
Arrival in the presence of the Hazrat Maqdum Jehan :The
Hazrat Maqdum Jehan Sharaf Uddin Yahiah Muniri then he has
started work of righteousness and advice and its fame which
was reached around all four corners. And the people who came
towards him in large numbers in his presence. So Waheeduddin
Chilla Kush also went into the  presence of the his excellence.
And he was engaged in endeavor for the benefit of
the favour from him for this reason. The first proof of his
presence of Maqdum Jehan is that discussion in which there
was information available about his parents at the meeting.
And the second proof is available in the
book khwan pur  nemat which is as follows.
“ That sister’s son of holy person Najibuddin, Syed Ohauddin
who said that upon hearing the holy name of the prophet some
person who keeps fingers on the eyes. For which there are  any
Hadith (Tradition of the prophet ) or not in this matter.? Then
Hazrat Maqdum said that the Hadiths which are reliable and
famous in this area or any Hadith which I could not find at any
place in this matter. For this reason, learned persons in my
area who did not follow it. And if they see someone who is
following then they did not prohibit this matter. Because it is
possible that someone has seen Hadith Sahih (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī
is one of the Kutub al-Sittah of Sunni Islam). Whereas, out of all
these six major books, the collection of prophetic traditions, or

Hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari, was performed by the Muslim


scholar Muhammad al-Bukhari. It was completed around 846
CE / 232 A) in this or he has heard in this matter.  
  In short Hazrat Waheed Uddin Chilla Kush who came into the
presence of Hazrat Maqdum Jehan in Bihar in between the
year 749 to 751 Hegira and the fixation of  the year is based on
the book Khuwan Pur Nemat. And in between the above
year speeches were collected and from it was known that some
compilers of the speeches who were written his name as
Waheed Uddin and some have written Ohuddin 
Chilla Kasha : Upon pledging at the hands of Maqdum Jehan, he
was entered into the phase of endeavours and mystical
exercise. For a longer period of time, he was engaged in the
Chilla (Chilla (Persian: ‫چله‬, Arabic: ‫أربعين‬, both literally "forty")
is a spiritual practice of penance and solitude in Sufis is  known
mostly in Indian and Persian traditions. ... The fan Chilla is
derived from the Persian word chehel "forty". Chilla is
commonly performed in a solitary cell called a chilla-khana.) in
one deserted place of Arwal. So for the reason, his title was
becoming well known and famous Chilla Kush. After Chilla
work, then he was settled down with his family members in
Seza village. The sultan of time who has granted him Seza
village and  the area around it for the meeting of the expenses
of the shrine building as a present to him and the deserted area
which was habituated slowly.
Marriage and children: He was married to Bibi Barka and who
was the daughter of the Zaki Uddin Bin Maqdum Jehan and
from her one son Syed Abdalla commonly called Sajjad Akbar
and one daughter Bibi Fatima Zahra. And his grandson Syed

Abu Mohammed commonly, known as Mohammed Bihari and


who has four sons with him, and two sons have died at an early
age. And elder son’s children who are found in and around this
area. And younger son Hazrat Aleemuddin commonly known as
Bheek Shah, who went to Bihar. And who sat on the prayer mat
of Hazrat Maqdum Jehan. And his children who were found in
Bihar and still, they are available there.
Death and burial: The date of his year of death is not known.
And his mausoleum is situated at a distance of many miles from
Seza village and he was buried in Badarabad village and every
year there will be holding his annual Urs celebration in which a
large number of visitors who participate from in and around the
area.

29.Hazrat Syed Aleem Uddin Gesu Daraz Danish and


Neshapuri

Family background: Hazrat Syed Aleemuddin Gesudarz


Danishmand Neshapuri who belongs to the  sons of Imam
Mohammed Debag and Imam Jafar Sadiq. The name of Imam
Mohammed Debag’s name was Mohammed. As he was
incomparable in the beauty and maginficance so
the people used to call him Debag. There was too much
devotion to him from general and special persons. The caliph
Mansur of his time when he has seen his increasing of the
devotion of the persons and he felt danger for his caliphate so
for this he can be lost his caliphate in this matter. So, for this
reason, he has declared him guilty in some case in some way
and he was placed him live in the wall and which is called
Immurement (from Latin im- "in" and murus "wall"; literally
"walling in") is a form of imprisonment, usually until death, in
which a person is placed within an enclosed space with no exits.
And his son who was migrated along with his family members
to Khurasan and then he went to Neshapur and he was settled
down there and made Neshapur as his native place and this
family till Hazrat Syed Aleemuddin Gesudarz Danishmand
Neshapuri who lived in Neshapur. Regarding his other relatives,
there is no information available on this matter. But his sons
who were going to India and settled down in Bihar Province.
And still, his sons are living in Bihar. The compiler of this book in
Urdu edition, Tayyeb Abdali who belongs to the 17th lineage of
the Hazrat.
Pledge and caliphate: Hazrat Syed Aleemuddin Gesudarz
Danishmand in the search of the Peer came to India along with
his two sons. And he  heard his fame and name of Hazrat
Maqdum Jehan Shaikh Sharafuddin Yahiah Muniri so for this

reason he went into his service and was a pledge on his hands
and was obtained caliphate from him.
Return back to the native place: He was found less time to live
in the service of Hazrat Maqdum Jehan. Whatever he got in
that period in which he has done endeavours for
getting favours. He was pledged at the hands of his sons in the
chain of Firdousia and he was given caliphate and permission.
And he was given advice for the preaching and propagation
mission work to his sons and then he was returned back to his
native place.
Children: His two sons Syed Mohammed Firdouse and Syed
Ahmed Firdouse who have done hard endeavours for the
development of the chain of the Firdousia. Syed Ahmed
Firdousi was married to daughter of Hazrat Maqdum
Baderuddin Bader Alam Zahidi’s daughter Hazrat Maqduma Bibi
Abdali. With the connection of Maqduma and his children who
were well known and famous as Abdali. Hazrat Mohammed
Firdousi who has spent all his life period without marriage and
as a single. His mausoleum is situated in Nadra village. And
Syed Mohammed Fardousi is taking a final rest at the bank of
the river Pimar in the village Mana and on the platform in the
compound area his tomb is situated. At the present time the
village Mana which is empty from his sons. And the persons of
his family who were migrated here and there. At present, his
sons are in large number who are living in the following areas.
1.Islampura (Nalinda) 2. Munir Sharif 3.Patna. And all of them
are engaged in their family work of the preaching and
propagation of Islamic religion.

30.Hazrat Shahabuddin

Name and title: Name Shuhabuddin and title is Shaikh.


Conditions: Hazrat Shahabuddin along with his father
Nadimuddin Jelani, who came over to Delhi and he was met
with Hazrat Maqdum Jehan Shaikh Sharafuddin
Ahmed Yahiah Muniri. And there was the effect of his devotion
to his heart. And he was becoming his disciple. Hazrat Maqdum
Jehan ,who went to Delhi two times.One time for the search of
the spiritual master and second time to return papers of the
property of the Rajgir to the Sultan of Delhi kingdom. At the
time  the Sultan Feroz Shah was ruling In the Delhi kingdom. It
can be said most probable that he was met Maqdum Jehan
during his second visit to Delhi, approximately in the year 752
Hegira and he has visited him most probable there at that time
and he was entered into the devotion circle of Hazrat Maqdum
Jehan. He was, loved his spiritual master so much that he was
removed from his name, the Syed (Syed in Arabic
means Honorable. Syed refers to a very respected clan in the
Arab world i.e. For people who are descendants of the prophet.
Most Arabs refer to Syeds for Spiritual healing and prayers.
However, there are some individuals who claim to be Syed but
are not. Such people bring a bad name to the authentic Syeds.)
and added Shaikh in his name and he was becoming famous
and well known with the title of the Shaikh. When Maqdum
Jehan has come back to Bihar then he was also going to Bihar
along with him. And he was settled down in Bihar. And he has
spent all his life in the service of his spiritual master.

Children: The son of Hazrat Shahabuddin Hazrat Minhajuddin


who was born in Jilan. And he comes to Delhi along with his
father and grandfather. And from Delhi, he was coming to Bihar
along with his father. In Bihar, he was married to the daughter
of the owner of the village Jabar Darma with Bibi Khadija. And
from her two sons, Hazrat Alauddin and Hazrat Badiuddin and
one daughter Um Salma were born. Hazrat Minhajuddin has
received property of one village near Jabar Darma village and
its name becomes famous and well known as per the name of
his native place as Jilan. But  the sons of his two sons who were
living in the Jabar Dharma village. These details are taken from
the handwritten manuscript known as Jabar Darma. 
Burial place: the death of Hazrat Shubuddin which took place in
Bihar and his burial place is situated in this place. But the year
of death is not found.

31.Hazrat Syed Ahmed Jajnari


 
 In the Bihar Province the ancestor of the Syeds (Syed in Arabic
means honourable. Syed refers to a very respected clan in the
Arab world i.e. For people who are descendants of the
prophet.). Hazrat Syed Ahmed Jajnari and his elder son Syed
Mohammed or Syed Mahmud Jajnari. And these two brothers
who settled in village Dahar Rasul in district Goudganu and
which a village in Eastern Punjab. The five generations before
Syed Ahmed Jajnari, Syed Rehmatulla who migrated from
village Jajnari from Patiala area who was settled in the village
Dahar Rasul. From Syed Mohammed to Hazrat Badruddin Zaid
(Syed Mohammed Ajhi, Syed Hadaya, Ijahi Syed Syed Abdul

Fatah, Ibrahim, Syed Aizuddin Ajhi, Syed Badruddin Zaid) and


these five generations who were living in this village Dahar
Rasul. Hazrat Baderuddin's two sons Syed Mohammed or
Mahmud Jajnari and Syed Ahmed Jagnar left Jagnari village and
went to Delhi as per the reference from the book Sharaf Arab.
And from this village, they have migrated in search of
employment during the rule of Mohammed Shah Tuglah.
(Mohammed Shah Tuglaq who was sat in Delhi thrown in the
year 725 Hegira and he died on 21 Muharram in the year 752
Hegira.)
Toward Delhi. Upon reaching Delhi they have enrolled
themselves in the regiment of the Sadat Barah in the army of
the sultan. In those days the Delhi kingdom which passing on
the condition of stability. There were opened many war fronts
of Islamic war. There were problems before the Islamic army to
conquer new areas and also to control from time to time
revolts and as well as to control soldiers of fortune in the
conquered new areas. So there was available good chance to
show one’s mettle in this matter. Syed Ahmed Jajnari and his
brother who have participated in some battles and they have
shown their skill and capability and they have obtained the
confidence of the Delhi with a good name.
 In short Syed Ahmed Jajnari and his brother came toward
Bihar Province in the year 744 Hegira and in the beginning, they
were living in Rahui village.
The period of Syed Ahmed Jajnari :Who was arrived in
Bihar province in the year 744 Hegira year and at that time
Bihar was becoming  the center of the defeated powers as well
as a place of solders of the fortune. And due to their disruption,

there was be upset in the daily life of the public in Bihar


Province. But this was one side of the picture in this matter. But
in that period  flood of light of Firdousi favour of the Maqdum
Jehan Shaikh Sharafuddin Ahmed Yahiah Muniri’ who was
enlightening the Bihar Province.In Bihar also there was staying
at that time cousin brother of Maqdum Jehan, Hazrat Syed
Ahmed Charam Posh. From his Suharwardi shrine, it is not
known how many persons who were able to get their spiritual
thirstiness in this matter.
   In short, if this period if it was a period of disturbance and on
the other side, it was also a period to enlighten the heart and
soul at that time. There were decreasing of the disturbances in
the number as per the following half couplet in the Urdu
language.
 There were increasing the things of the peace of the heart
Personality: Hazrat Syed Jajnari who was an expert person of
the war and suffer injuries. And he has spent his beginning life
in  the fights of the battles of the Islamic Jihad (In
classical Islamic law, the term refers to armed struggle against
unbelievers, while modernist Islamic scholars generally equate
military jihad with defensive warfare. In Sufi and pious circles,
spiritual and moral jihad has been traditionally emphasized
under the name of greater jihad.).When there was a peace that
was available to him then he returned towards paying attention
to Allah. He  made his last headquarters in the village Nadiyanu
and where was a big shrine building. (As per book Sadat Jagnari
page 38). And probably he has constructed this shrine building
there. And from this, it  is knows his Sufism taste. At present,
the village Nadiyanu is empty from the Muslim population. But

the Hindus population in the village who respects much is


mausoleum there. It is true that the personality of the friends
of Allah which will be as such that even after their death the
people who give respect to them.
