and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions.

(According to oxford dictionary)

RESEARCH APPROACH = Research approach is a plan and procedure that consists

of steps of broad assumptions to detailed method of data collection, analysis and
interpretation.

Quantitative research study.

RESEARCH DESIGN = Research design is the framework of research methods and

techniques chosen by a researcher.

Experimenta study design.

RESEARCH SETTING = Research setting can be seen as the physical, social, and
cultural site in which the researcher conducts the study.

The study was conducted at Yamuna group of institution of Nursing, Yamuna Nagar.

POPULATION = Population is the number of people who live in a particular area, city or
country.

TARGET POPULATION = Target population is the total group of individuals from which
the sample might be drawn.

The target population comprises of all students of Yamuna group institution of nursing.

ACCESSIBLE POPULATION = Accessible population is the population in research to

which the researchers can apply their conclusions.

Nursing students of Yamuna group of institution, Yamuna Nagar.

SAMPLE = refers to a smaller set of individual, objects, events drawn from a population.
Sample is collected from Nursing students of Yamuna group institution of Nursing.

SAMPLING TECHNIQUE = Sampling technique is the name or other identification
of the specific process by which the entities of sample have been selected.

DATA COLLECTION = It is the process of gathering and measuring information on

variables of interest, in an established systematic fashion that enables on to answer.

Questionnaire research method is used for data collection.

DATA COLLECTION TECHNIQUE = It is defined as the procedure of collecting,

measuring and analysing accurate insights for research using standard validated techniques.

Pen & paper method is used as a data collection technique.

DESCRIPTION OF TOOL = The tool consist of structured knowledge questionnaire

to assess the knowledge regarding organ donation, which consist of following sections:

SECTION A = It consists of demographic characteristics like age, gender, educational status,

SECTION B = It consist of 30 multiple choice questions related to knowledge regarding

organ donation.

INTERPRETATION:-

( 0-10 ) Inadequate knowledge.

(10-15) moderate knowledge.

( 15-30) adequate knowledge.

VALIDITY = It is the extent to which the scores actually represent the variable.
The content validity was established in consultation with guide & experts from field of
nursing. The expert suggestions was incorporated in the fixed tool.

RELIABILITY = It is the degree to which research method produces stable and

consistent results.
ETHICAL CONSIDERATION =

PLAN FOR DATA ANALYSIS = Descriptive & inferential statistics were used to
analyse the data. Descriptive analysis was presented as percentage, mean, standard deviation.
Inferential analysis was presented as chi square.

SUMMARY = The chapter deals with description of research approach, research design,
research setting, population, sample techniques & size, description of tool, data collection &
technique, validity, reliability, ethical consideration, plan for data analysis, summary.
