A. Rationale
The location of Barangay, 13 in Batangas are surrounded by commercial
buildings such as the Nuciti in which the Barangay is behind the place. The
location is not as safe as we know. At first, the Barangay is well cleaned and
peaceful but as you inspect more the ones outside surrounded it, it is not a
Page | 2
safe place for disaster especially earthquake because the whole location is at
the center of tallest buildings.
As to the citizens of the Barangay, the people their are well disciplined as
well as the kids, they are thought by their parents on how to maintain
cleanliness because they’re Barangay are profoundly clean also it was a
peaceful place.
The Aim High! Go High! is a project that will help to develop the skills and
knowledge of the chosen participants Barangay 13, Batangas City. The
activities that we prepared are about can help them to gain different
knowledge that will help them in future needs. The goal of this project is to
send awareness for an early age that needs to be developed and well-
prepared citizen in the near future because as we observe their Barangay it is
really prone to hazards and disaster.

2. Service and Assistance Offered
The Barangay we have chosen offered their Barangay Hall as the place
where we could conduct our community work which is to have a literacy
program for the children of their Barangay. The Baranagay chairman and
other Barangay officials helped us to the things we needed in our project.
They also lend us their chairs and other things needed to make our project
possible. Not, only they provide us tangible things but they also guide us to
the whole community work for their Barangay, to have a better outcome.
3. Implementation Schedule
The aim high Go high will having a Literacy program that may help the
children to have knowledge in any disaster and to be prepared. The
CWTS student will be having a literacy where the children of Barangay 13,
Batangas City thought on how to be prepared in any disaster such as flash
flood, earthquake and fire. There are some of the topics that need to
highlight since the Barangay is prone to that disaster since the chosen
Barangay is in the middle of the city. The activities will be having an actual
demonstration.
The table below shows the list of the activities that will cover in every
week. Those activities will enhance their ideas and knowledge on how to
be well prepared in any disaster, and also nurture the beauty of their
childhood. The table shows the activity and the target date and the
designation of manpower with their different task every week. The group
will be divided into three where the first group will be assigned for the
prayer and energizer after that they will be the organizer, they will help the
other group to provide and to assist the children to a certain activity. The
second group will be the lecturer, where they will teach the children for a
certain topic for a week. They will prepare for some mind games and
actual activity that is connected to the chosen topic for the week. The last
group will be the food committee that will be organizing the food and
snacks of the children. Each group will have a group leader that will

monitor their group mates and also to prepare for the narrative for the
certain activity of that day.

B. Social Viability
The Barangay we’ve chosen for this community work are disciplined
and well-behaved. As we observe them, the adults trained the young
children to be more appreciative towards little things. The young children
was thought on how to preserve things that could still helpful like water
bottles. They are very respectful towards the older people so we don’t
really had a bad experience on teaching them what is right or wrong. The
children was surrounded by people who goal is to teach them how to
become a better and resposible citizen of a certain place.

The proposed needs will be using for the activity in every Saturday's
showing the list below. The soap and towel will be used for proper hygiene. The
school supplies will be used for the activity and the first aid kit will be used for the
demo. The certificates will be given on the last day of the community immersion
Second problem is the approval of proposal it’s so hard to get approval from
the higher ups. The only solution we could recommend is when your professor
already gave the things to do, you must start it immediately because there are
loads of work to do, revising and other things that still lacks your project.
Conclusion
1. Students gained benefits due to community services they have done. They
were able to improve themselves, performed better and involved more to the
community.
2. Students improved in terms of their leadership, skills, connect with other
community and self -confidence.
3. Students also encountered difficulties during the community service like going
to the assigned community because of the difference of the location of each
member of the group. They also encountered financial problems but they were
able to learn from those difficulties and turned out to be a positive effects
Recommendation
1. Leadership skill is one of the most important in conducting an activity like this.
Someone must guide their group in doing things, someone who gave rules and
regulations among their members so that the activity will be carry out the way it
was planned.
2. Cooperation is a must, every member in the group must have their own task
to do for the things to be done at the same time as planned.
3. Prepared all the things you need a day before conducting the activity.
Page | 12
4. If someone has a schedule for the day he/she was assigned in an activity.
He/she must tell the leader a day or two that he could not attend so the leader
can chose a person for a substitute to do their task to avoid disorderly and
rowdy activity.
