not just the workshop, a number of factors moved forth to sell these machines and their software
to a growing and large group of customers. Besides the introduction of more elegant cases and
an increased presence by larger and larger firms, a strong argument can be made that one of the
forces was the proliferation of computer-related magazines and newsletters that gave a central,
printed home for writing about computers. Rising from user support groups, computer companies
themselves, and publishing houses willing to risk cash and time to fund them, these magazines
set the stage for the home computer revolution.

NEW!!!
Over the past few months we have wondered how parents felt about their children
and indeed themselves joining a
PD library and possibly receiving unsuitable material - . . i.e. Glamour
PIcs/Offenslve language etc . . . so we
decided to set up a subsidiary club where all the disks have been carefully vetted
as suitable for all. It is simply
going to be called THE JUNIOR PD CLUB and is for any age although the Club will be
orientated towards the younger
end. We have specially compiled a catalogue containing about 200 PD titles, 2
demos and a PD game.
We also have some Pens and Badges with the club name on them, we will send a Pen
FREE to all new members.
For the under 16s we will send a Pen AND a Badge FREE ol charge.

MAKING
THE RAIN GAUGE
First you need an empty plaslic bottle. It must have stfaighl sides like
the one in our picture.
Now cut ihe top part off to form a funnel. It's a good idea lo get your
parents to help with thai
Turn the funnel you have made upside down Push it into the other
pan of the bottJe to make your gauge.
Now tape a ruler to the side of the gauge. The zero of the ruler
should be above any bumps or shapes at the bottom of the boltle.
Pour water into the gauge up to the zero mark on the ruler It's now
ready to use.
Put it in your garden. Try lo find a fairly shaded place so the rain
doesn't evaporate. Now it's jusi a matter wailing. When i! rains Ihe
gauge will collect il You can check the depth by ]usl reading ihe ruler.
You'll first be asked How many readings'^ The most you are
altowed lo type in is about 35 - the exact number depends on
which type of computer you have
Next you type in the readings. One after each question mark
that appears.
