4. First Communion
5. Marriage
6. Holy Orders
• Reconciliation- The point of reconciliation is to ask God to forgive you and ask
him to forgive you for anything dumb you have done. When people go to
Reconciliation, they are nervous because they think God won't forgive them
because of how bad of stuff they did. But the truth is that God will always forgive
you even when it feels like you made the world fall apart.
• Anointing of the sick- Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of the Catholic Church
that is given to a Catholic that begins to be in danger due to sickness or old age.
The priest and bishop are the only ones who can give the blessing to someone.
The blessing is suppose to keep someone from dying with sin in there body.
Initiation Sacraments
• Baptism - Baptism is a symbol of Christ's burial and resurrection. It's the first
sacrament, it's when you welcome yourself into God's family, no other sacrament can
be received without it. The reason baptism is important is that it welcomes the person
getting baptized into the Catholic faith, and it's to free them from their sins.
• First communion – First communion means that a person has received the sacrament of
Eucharist, which is the body and blood of Jesus Christ, taking the body and blood of the
Christ means you're becoming a part of his sacrifice. The reason the First communion is
important is because you're one step near being a full member of the Catholic church.
Why do we need the Sacraments in the
Church's eyes?
In the Church's eyes, the Sacraments are important because each Sacrament is meant to
strengthen our faith and forge us a closer relationship with God. They're used to show His
grace and help us to achieve salvation. The word Sacrament means "a sign of the sacred"
which seems reasonable/fitting seeing that they symbolize God.
