Take one teaspoon of this with warm milk or water twice daily. Make a powdered preparation of dried ginger root, celery seeds and cumin seeds in equal quantities, add rock salt to taste and have 1 teaspoon with water at bedtime. Massage your whole body gently with lukewarm sesame oil and follow with hot fomentation. It is effective in relieving fatigue Cough and cold Mix one fourth teaspoon of ginger powder with ½ tsp of turmeric powder and add honey to make paste. Take twice a day. Strain, add 1 tbsp of honey and drink. Add some salt to warm water and gargle two or three times a day. Chew a bud of clove or two cardamoms or a few raisins for relief from sore throat. Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric powder, and ginger powder. Take 1 teaspoon in the morning and evening with warm water. Take 5gm each of ginger, black pepper, cardamom, clove, cinnamon, and turmeric. Make a fine powder of all the above ingredients. Add 30 gm of powdered sugar. Take half to one teaspoonful of the powder, mix it with honey, and consume the mixture. Prepare a decoction by boiling ½ teaspoon licorice root powder, 4 teaspoonful black pepper powder, and 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger along with 8-10 basil leaves in a glass of water. Reduce it to a half. Add ½ teaspoon of sugar to it and have it lukewarm in morning and evening in place of tea/coffee. Prepare a mixture of powdered dried ginger root, black pepper and long pepper in equal amounts and store in an airtight container. Have ½ teaspoon of this powder mixed with honey. Add one teaspoon of turmeric powder to one glass of hot water. Drink this sip by sip frequently during the day. Crush 2 teaspoon of coriander seeds and add 2 teaspoons of chopped, peeled ginger. Put the mixture into a frying pan over low heat. Stir to prevent the mixture from burning. Add 2 cups of water. Cover the pan to retain the fumes. Boil for a few minutes. Filter the liquid. Add 1 tbsp of honey for taste and drink warm. Jaundice Mix 1 teaspoon of roasted barley powder with a glass of water. Add 1 teaspoon of honey to it and have this twice a day. Add 1 teaspoon paste of basil leaves to a glassful of radish juice. Have this juice twice a day for 15-20 days. Take one teaspoon pulp of Indian Aloe Vera with black salt and dry ginger powder every morning for a period of 10 days. Mash bitter gourd and extract its juice. Take one- fourth cup of the juice in the early morning daily. Headache Apply a paste ground clay or sandalwood powder mixed with rose water for relief in burning sensation with headache. Grind 10-12 grains of black pepper and 10-12 grains of rice with water to make it a paste. Apply this paste on affected area of the head for 15-20 minutes. Mix ¼ teaspoon of clove powder with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon oil. Apply this paste on the affected area for 20-30 minutes. Acidity Take powder of roasted cumin and coriander seeds (25 gm each) and mix with 50 gm of sugar. Take half spoon of it 3 times a day to get rid of hyperacidity. Make a powdered mixture of equal parts of rock candy (or unrefined sugar), fennel, and green cardamom. Whenever you feel heartburn, mix 1 teaspoon of the mixture in a glass of cold milk and drink. Drink 100-500 ml of tender coconut water twice a day for relief from hyperacidity Mix equal parts of powdered fennel, licorice root, basil leaves and coriander seeds. Have ½ teaspoon of this mixture with ½ teaspoon of powdered rock candy (or unrefined sugar) 15 minutes before lunch and dinner Migraine. If there is a burning sensation with your migraine headache, apply a paste of ground clay or sandalwood powder mixed with rose water. In case of migraine headache due to inflamed sinuses, inhale steam with vinegar added to the water. Mix¼ teaspoon of clove powder with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon oil. Apply this paste on the affected area for 20-30 minutes.
