PRESENTATION SCRIPT

Good morning everyone, please have attention for us.


Hello, we are from elevania group and here’s the member: Romario, Paska, Graviella,
and Gracia. Today, we are going to talk about bipolar. We choose this topic because there is a
lack of information about bipolar in societies, such as the definition of bipolar, the symptoms,
the risk factor, also the treatment for bipolar patients. We hope, after the presentation all of you
become more concern and understand about bipolar disorder.
We decided our presentation into 4 parts. The first part is the definition of bipolar, the
second part is the symptoms, the third part is the risk factor, and the last part is the treatment
for bipolar patient’s. And for the question and answer time, will be at the end of our
presentation. So now, let’s move to the first part, which is the definition of bipolar disorder.
Bipolar disorder is a mental illness marked by extreme changes in mood from high to
low, and from low to high. Highs are periods called mania, while lows are periods is called
“depression”. The changes in mood may even become mixed, so the emotion might feel elated
and depressed at the same time. The signs of bipolar disorder can generally be divided into
those for mania, and those for depression.
The second part is the symptoms of bipolar disorder. The signs and symptoms of bipolar
disorder are varied. Many of these symptoms can also be caused by other conditions, making
this condition hard to diagnose. The signs of bipolar disorder can generally be divided into
those for mania, and those for depression.
The first is depression initially be diagnosed with clinical depression before have a manic
episode (sometimes years later), after which you may be diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
During an episode of depression, people will have overwhelming feelings of worthlessness,
which can potentially lead to thoughts of suicide.
And for the second symptoms, which is the mania symptoms, during a manic phase of bipolar
disorder, the feeling is very happy, have lots of energy, ambitious plans and idea, spend large
amounts of money on things you cannot afford and would not normally want and It's also
common to not feel like eating or sleeping talk quickly and become annoyed easily the feeling
was very creative and view the manic phase of bipolar as a positive experience and also
experience symptoms of psychosis, where you see or hear things that are not there or become
convinced of things that are not true.
The third part is the risk factor of bipolar. The exact cause of the bipolar disorder is unknown,
although it's believed several things can trigger an episode. These include extreme stress,
overwhelming problems, life-changing events, genetic and chemical factors
And the last part is the treatment for people diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Once you have a
diagnosis, your doctor will decide on a treatment program that works best for you. Treatment
for bipolar disorder may include some process.
1. The first one is taking a medication
2. The second is behavioral therapy
3. The third is substance abuse treatment, electroconvulsive therapy,
4. The forth is a licensed psychiatrist who usually manages your treatment.
You may also have a social worker, psychologist, or psychiatric nurse practitioner involved in

need to talk with a doctor, If you think that you or a loved one has signs or symptoms of bipolar
disorder, your first step should be to talk to your doctor. Only a trained medical professional

therapy, or other treatment options can help you or your loved one get symptoms under control
and live a full, satisfying life.

Summarizing: Bipolar is not a disease that can be underestimated because the people
diagnosed with bipolar disorder might harm themselves. Although the causes of bipolar are
still unknown, in some cases it can be triggered by the people around the patient, so please if
you know someone diagnosed with bipolar disorder, lead them to the psychologist and take
care of them.
