INTRODUCTION:
There is no need to define what light is, but we do need to remember that this light
allows us to define what is around us, by day and night: the changing perception of the
things or the bodies on which it impacts, and the space that contains them. Light
enables us to see, it stimulates, informs and excites us. There can be no visual form
without light. It conditions both the way we see our world and the way we feel.
“Architecture is the wise, correct and magnificent play of volumes collected together
under the light”.
-Le Corbusier
“More and more, so it seems to me, Light is the beautifier of the building”
-F. L. Wright
Light, or absence of light, can also transform this space in each season, each day of the
year, each hour of the day, each moment. Light can transform the spatial context,
creating agreeable or disagreeable, more comfortable, more habitable, more visible.
The perception of space is directly connected to the way light integrates with it. What
we see, what we experience and how we interpret the elements is affected by how light
interacts with us and with the environment. Regarding architecture, in whatever
dimension it can be analyzed, either as space, as material or as color, it is essentially
dependent on the lighting situation that involves both the object and the observer.
I would rather say there is no architecture without light and it is one of the basic
elements of it.
AIM:
To study and understand the effect of natural light and its impact on architecture
and human mood and to design build forms which enlights people innerself and
enhance peace through the experience of light through each and every spaces.
NATURAL LIGHT:
Human factor is equal importance. People like natural light more than artificial light
and prefer to work in daylight and choose to locate close to a window. People believe
that the most important reason to natural light is the psychological impact natural light
seems to have on them.
Natural light makes architectural more harmony between exterior and interior, nature
and human. They think light work with some element like colors can more dynamic and
beautifier and it is a major natural element in architecture design.
SCOPE:
The meaning of the word spiritual has developed over time and today has numerous
meanings. Traditionally it was associated with religion, religious experience and Holy
Spirit. However, the modern-day, secular and broader meaning of the world refers to a
sense of other worldliness.
It has become a word that is also commonly used as way to describe intangible things
that lack a straightforward explanation. It is generally accepted that spirituality can be
found in music, nature, art, poetry, in many other areas of life and in architecture.
The project is developed with the attitude that these spaces would promote peace and
self betterment. This project is intended to host a variety of spaces that encourage
spiritual through activities and the effects of light grounding with the urban context,
which is at times hectic, stressful and overwhelming.
