Bunaken
National Park Bunaken
is a marine park that located at the northern tip of the island of Sulawesi Utara, Indonesia. Scuba diving attracts many visitors to the island.
Bunaken National Park
extends over an area of 890.65 km² of which only 3% is terrestrial, including Bunaken Island, as well as the islands of Manado Tua, Mantehage, Nain and Siladen. The waters of Bunaken National Marine Park are up to 1,566 m deep in Manado Bay, with temperatures ranging between 27 to 29 °C. It has a high diversity of - corals, fish, echinoderms or sponges. There are 390 species of corals there. The species of Alga you can see there are Caulerpa, Halimeda, and Padina. Whereas the species of seaweed there are Thalassia hemprichii, Enhallus acoroides, and Thalassaodendron ciliatum. Bunaken also has a lot species of fish, marine mammals, reptile, bird, mollusca and mangrove.There are 90 species of fish ath this water area.
This island has Arecaceae, sago,
woka, silar and coconut. Besides that, Bunaken also has species of animal that live in the land, like deer and cuscus. Mangrove forest in this park become habitats for crabs, lobsters, mollusca, and seabirds.
There are 22 villages on this area, with 35.000 populations. A lot of them work as afisherman, or coconut farmers, etc. Meanwhile, the others work as a guide, helmsman, or work in cottege.
